Full show transcript:

Hey. Did you know today is kind of our Friday? It is our Friday. Right. Because I mean, it's a Thursday, but we're gonna treat it like a Friday because we're off for a three day weekend.

What's up? Thanks for having a birthday so we could take a day off. Well, thank my parents, I guess. Thanks your parents for giving us a day off somehow, some way, roundaboutly. Hey.

It's Thursday, May 1. Happy early birthday to me. That's right. Tomorrow, you turn Four four. 40 four.

Don't I look so young? You do. You look great. And 44 is not even, like, that old. No.

So way to go, 44. Thank you. Yeah. You found some ambition last night. I guess so.

I found it in a bucket. I don't know where I found it. I just I did. I finally made that dandelion bread I've been talking about for. Ambition.

Hey. Hey. Look at you. Did you find it in a bucket? It's a good joke, I think.

I don't know. We break down old age. Yes. We'll give you some good tips. Hey.

I couldn't remember in the show the third thing, so I'll tell you now. Okay. The third thing I won't tell you the other two because that's in the show. But the third thing is to be able to go up and down stairs without using a handrail. Got it.

Yeah. Having to practice all of those things. Alright. Very good. What is 80 year old funk?

It's some sick beats. I'll tell you that. And a book. 80 year old funk. No.

It's not that. But it it could be a book if you write it. I I might if I get same ambition, but I've used it all already. You gotta start looking in different buckets. How do you occupy yourself when you've got no cell service?

I fly fish. How do you occupy yourself? Well, I usually read, but if I forget my book, I have to come up with ulterior ideas. Mhmm. The Idaho Falls Farmers Market is back.

What? Starting Saturday? Saturday. Yeah. Sweet.

Warm weather, and SpongeBob celebrates an excellent anniversary. Nice. That's his little nose flute that he plays. Nice. I know.

Thanks. We are Josh and Chantel. This is wake up classy 97, the podcast. It's episode Two seventeen. Two 20 four.

What? 224. But you were real close. I know. Yesterday was 02/23, so that means today is 02/24.

Enjoy the show. Good is quite the sight in here, is it not? It is quite the sight. I mean, you walk in and you go, woah. Look at all this.

Yeah. So tomorrow is your birthday. What? We're not going yeah. Like, it's a surprise.

And we're not gonna be in the studio tomorrow. We took the day off to, relax and not have to wake up early and to let you have a nice birthday. Yeah. It's a nice present to myself. And, several of the ladies in the office got together, and they decorated this place all Yeah.

They did. Amazing for you with flowers and balloons. Very nice surprise. Candies. I know.

My favorite candies. I know. Yeah. You know? I do.

Uh-huh. And, and some lip balm, you said. Look at that. I know. Isn't that fun?

How nice. I know. It's nice to be remembered. It's, it's pretty cool. So, anyway, happy early birthday Thank you, Josh.

Since the room is all decorated. Happy early birthday. I know. It's cute. Thank you, ladies.

Yeah. They did a great job. They did a great job. Jobs. Bang up job.

Way to go. I like that, the balloons, they they figured out a way to get, little different sizes on them by putting just a little bit of air, so they kinda made them flowery. I mean, I don't know. Look at that thing. It's like a whole balloon train.

And they did a yeah. A little archy thing, a little balloon arch. It's cute. And streamers on the door, like a home tradition. Isn't that fun?

That is fun. That's what I do at home. I know. Cute. Pretty great.

It is pretty great. Fun, to the ladies that that decorated it. Very good. Molly. It's my last day of 43.

I know. How are you feeling? I feel great. Okay. I feel like I got my life in order.

No. I never feel that way. Okay. No. I feel I feel happy.

I feel happy. Well, good. Feeling good on my last day of 43. Excellent. I'm gonna live it up.

Tomorrow is your is your actual birthday, May. Justin, who is, formerly, mid days on class e 97, has now been on the hawk for a couple of years. He, has the same birthday. I forgot about that, actually. Yeah.

I do remember that, and then I forgot. There's quite a few people that I know with the same birthday as me. Who else do you know? I know a friend named Damon at their May birthday. Alright.

That's the only one I can think of right now, but there are there I was filling out our calendar last night. We know a lot of people with May birthdays. Is that right? That is right. I thought I thought it was, like, November's heavy.

No. August is heavy. We got September is pretty heavy. September is heavy. Heavy.

May is heavy. It's okay. Birthdays are great. Aren't they? Yeah.

December's got a few. Mhmm. Do you know people are born every day of the month Yeah. I do. Of the whole year?

I always think it's funny when you meet someone with the same birthday as you. Mhmm. And you're like, that's my birthday too. Is that what happened? That's my birthday too.

Because it just happens all the time. Big whoop. Yeah. That's how birthdays work. But it is weird.

03/1965 of them. Of course, you're gonna have the same birthday of somebody else. March if you're a leap year baby. True. True.

That's also a February birthday. Good job, Josh. Yeah. No. You're welcome for helping you figure that out when that happens.

I didn't ask. Well, enjoy, your final day as 43. Thank you. It's a big deal. I will.

And you've got your life in order as you said. So congratulations. Everything's everything's figured out. Everything is totally I totally have Do you have some sort of expectation that, by '43, I'll have everything figured out? Is that a thing that you said ever?

No. But I look around at other people, and I go, Yeah. Everybody puts on a good face. They appear to have their life in order. Everybody puts on a good face.

Quit it, everybody. Put on a Be be out that face. Yeah. How about some good news to get you going today? Let's hear it.

Well, during, the pandemic a few years ago, 12 year old, now 12 year old, Tanzeem Abdel Daym of Brookline, Massachusetts spent a lot of time at home learning how to make desserts and and became, really, really good. You could say became an expert at baking cupcakes. Wow. Yeah. Well, word is spread around the community about the amazing treats that Tansim was creating, which led all the neighbors to showing up weekly to enjoy cupcakes and support her hobby.

The number of orders increased to the point that she's now created a business called Sweet Street Cakes and makes a commitment to donate the profits to charity. So since 2023, Sweet Street Cakes has donated over a thousand dollars to charities, including the Brookline Food Pantry, St. Jude's, and the Animal Rescue League of Boston. Aw. I know.

Right? Tasneem still bakes all the sweet treats in her home kitchen, runs the business. She has her own spreadsheets keeping track of stuff, pays for her expenses out of the bakery surplus funds. And as her skills have grown, she's now stretching her stretching herself out a little bit. What's she doing?

Wings. What's she doing? Creating elaborate full size cakes and fuller, bigger orders of cupcakes. Be careful. She's gonna start doing weddings soon Alright.

If she isn't already. She's using her entrepreneurial and creative skills to give a big boost to causes she believes in, and I think that's really awesome. I think that's really awesome too. She's 12 years old. She's got her own business, Sweet street cakes.

She's got her life in order at 12 years old. She's doing great. Here's what she found. Something she enjoys doing, something she was kinda good at. She tried it.

She liked it. She had a good support system. And here she is with her spreadsheets. You love a good spreadsheet. I do like a good spreadsheet.

Yeah. So she And cupcakes. I do like a good cupcake. A good cupcake and a spreadsheet about cupcakes? Come on.

That sounds awesome. Eating a cupcake while making a spreadsheet? Oh. Color coding that thing? Come on.

Adding in those formulas? What's better than that? I love adding in the formulas. Spreadsheets are the best. Alright.

Well, there you go. Look at that. It's good news to get you going. I got home from work last night. Mhmm.

And you were nowhere to be found. Emery was at track practice. Right. Becca was still at work. Right.

The house was quiet Yeah. Except for the dog who was like, hey. What's going on? Right. And so where is everybody, dog?

She was outside. Oh, she was outside. You're right. I couldn't find anybody. I thought maybe you might be taking a nap.

Oh, that sounds like an outside view. Open the bedroom. You weren't in the bedroom. I went downstairs. You weren't downstairs.

You did? You went through the whole house? I did. Oh. And then I went outside, and you had some real strong ambition to get some stuff done in the backyard.

Yeah. And I was like, oh. It was such a nice day. I was like, man, I wanna be playing out here. And, yeah.

I I stood around for a while after work. I because I let the dog out, and I was looking at the backyard. And I was like, man, there's so much to do. And I stood there, and I leaned up against the trampoline, and I was looking at it. And I was like, I've I've started some stuff because we're we've put in some garden beds, some raised garden beds.

I haven't planted yet, which I'm excited because I'm getting real close to planting time. I know. And so, and I've got my dirt in there, and I've got my compost mix. Like, everything's, like, primed. But it's it just looks like I plunked down two boxes.

And I and I had ideas for what I wanted to do, and I knew kinda where I was headed. And then, I looked a little bit to the north to my left, and I went, because there is there's this, there's a pond in there that that There's a bad corner. Been sitting there for a lot of years not being used and not being Taken care of. Care of and not it's just it's been a a situation. Pit of despair.

It's not a great corner of the yard. No. It's a it's a cesspool of of chaos. And I have a little bit of big plans for it. Like, I'd like to, get rid of the pond.

I'd like to clear that out, level that down. I wanna put in compost bins. I wanna put in, like, a three stage compost. And then, the the fence on the back, we talked about getting, like, some berries, some raspberries, and maybe some blueberries or grapes or something. Great ideas.

So looking at it, and I'm just standing there going, like, it's never gonna do it itself. Right? Like, it's not just gonna magically all of a sudden be what I want it to be. So I went and put on my gloves, and I started moving some rocks and cleaning some stuff up. And then I was like, alright.

I'm kinda into it. Let's let me just start moving some stuff around. The hardest step is the first one. Okay. Once you get moving, you can keep that momentum going.

For the most part. Yeah. And even after dinner, you were like, yeah. I'm hitting it. I'm back at it.

Well, I I hadn't finished what I wanted to get done. So, so now I have finished the garden beds and the and the area around them. That is done as of Very lovely. As of yesterday. I also mowed the backyard.

I got home again, yesterday. The the neighbor's mowing his front yard again, third time this year. I'm keeping track. And I'm walking up to the step. He turns his lawnmower off, and I'm like, third time, man.

You got me three o. I haven't mowed my lawn once. And I usually wait until May because I let the the dandelions go to the bees and stuff. So I usually don't mow until then. And so last night, I was like, yeah.

I gotta mow the backyard. I gotta I gotta lot to do. And there's still so much to do. There always is, and there always will be. But I'm now to the point where I think I need to go get the little tractor, that I need to rent for a little while for a few hours so that I can clear out that back corner.

Yeah. That back corner, you're gonna find some you're gonna find some stuff. What do you think? I think you're gonna find some sign or some spiders. Here's the thing.

Possibly some snakes? I haven't seen a snake. K. When I pulled out the the upper pond and the little waterfall thing yesterday Uh-huh. And all the rocks that were in there, I didn't see any living spiders.

Maybe one or two that were kind of around one of the ponds, but nothing nothing crazy. So many little egg sacks, though. Ugh. So many. And I'm I'm I can't even tell you how many.

So, that was gross. I was not excited about that. You kill them all? Well, so I scraped them off the rocks and stuff into the pond that still has some water in it. So they're in there.

Dead. I don't know. Josh, why didn't you kill them all? I put them in there. You have to make sure they're dead.

Have you never seen arachnophobia? Ugh. So, gross. That is gross. Gross.

I was not into that. We took out lava rock years and years and years ago. That's a different house. That is lava rock's something else. Yeah.

But there was egg sacks on the lava rock. Yeah. Yeah. I was not excited. But, anyway, so now I've got I've got a little bit more of the project done, which I was really, really excited.

Yeah. And excited. Let's get to planting. Soon. Let's get our backyard together.

This is the year of our backyard. We say that every year. What you said. You you proclaim that loudly from the deck. This is the year.

And then you also said something to the effect of, I promise I'll be more helpful with projects. I went, okay. Oh, I didn't hear that part. Are you sure I said that? Yeah.

Af right after I handed you your gloves that disappeared. I was busy doing other stuff. Mhmm. Making dinner. Alright.

I know. You did, and it was awesome. Anyway, a little more progress. It's good. I'm I'm excited that things are moving forward.

I got a lot more work to do, and I'm ready to plant some vegetables. Take care of the backyard. This is it. This is it. Something fun you and I just got done, doing was filming, a video, which we do this often.

This isn't, like, a whole new thing or anything. Something fun? It was something fun? Did you have fun? I I think I did.

It looks like I did. I mean, it was alright. How many takes did we have to do? I don't know. Five or so.

Took a minute. It's because, you know, we just haven't talked about it enough, but Idaho Gives is happening right now. It is the final day of Idaho Gives, and they've raised over $3,000,000 so far, which is incredible, and there's still an entire day of giving, left today. So you have until the end of the day today to hop on idahogives.org or to tap the link in the Classy 97 app and make a donation to some amazing nonprofits across the state of Idaho. Now I don't know the total of organizations participating in this.

I do know that there are 617 Idaho nonprofits that have been given to. That's amazing. That's pretty incredible. It is very incredible. So if you would like to get involved, there is still time.

You can hop online, idahogives.org, or tap the link in the Classy 97 app. We will post our fun little video that took us a bunch of different takes to get done, here in just a few minutes, so you can see us this morning encouraging you to go to Idaho Gives on the final day of of giving for this campaign this year. It's a big deal. Idaho nonprofits give a lot to our communities. It's a little chance for us to give back as a as a populist and say, hey.

Thanks. Here's a little bit. Thanks for what you do. And what's cool is you can pick a cause that speaks to you. So Exactly.

If if you're into, animals, you wanna help out out an animal rescue, or you wanna help out a humane society, or if you're, you know, really into education, there are educational opportunities you can support. There's art stuff. Women's issues. There's youth. There's seniors.

There's international. There's I mean, pick and pick. Yeah. Environment. Disaster related.

Horses. You like horses? There's a horse thing. There is. There's stuff for everybody.

There really is. You can browse through the entire list. If there's if there's, an organization that you already know about, that you, are familiar with and you wanna support, that's great. But if you wanna also find something new, that's, totally an option for you as well. Go to idahogives.org.

It is the final day of giving or tap the link in the Classy 97 app. And, thanks so much for supporting Idaho Gives. Hey. Sorry. That was loud.

I'm gonna turn turn my microphone down, Dot. Settle down. A couple of weeks ago, I saw a recipe for something called dandelion bread. This is true. And I talked about how I wanted to make it.

Right. And then I talked about harvesting the dandelions. Right. And we only had, like, eight. And I said, there's no way eight dandelions is a cup of yellow.

Correct. There's there's not enough yellow petals on eight dandelions. So then I waited and I waited, and I was like, I'm still gonna make this dandelion bread. And I don't think you ever had faith that I was gonna make the dandelion bread. And then yesterday or the day before, a coworker said, hey.

Are you ever gonna make that dandelion bread? And I said, no. Yes. Uh-huh. So I had some time last night, and I harvested some dandelions, and I made some dandelion bread.

Yes. You did. I did. I mean Okay. Let me Well, I just wanna say I walked in, from the backyard after I had mowed, and you were harvesting yellow petals.

And it looked tedious. It was very tedious. I went out and gathered. I needed a cup of dandelion yellow Yellow petals. Petals for the recipe.

Yeah. So I went and got my cup, and I was just picking some it said you're supposed to pick them when they're fully opened on a bright sunny day. That makes sense. A lot of the dandelions were kind of wilted and already closed for the evening. So I tried to pick some of the bigger ones.

I didn't have enough. After I picked a cup full of them and harvested all of the yellow out of them, I had to go get another cup, and that still only gave me about three quarters of a cup. That's insane. And I said, that's it. This is what I'm using.

This is what I have. This is what I'm using. It is very tedious to get those yellow petals out, and you're not supposed to get a lot of green in there because the green is bitter, and you don't want bitter bread. Okay. And when you say green, do you mean, like, the little leaves around the thing or any of the stem or any of that?

Yes. Okay. You just want the yellow petals? Yes. Got it.

I ate it. Okay. Well, hold on. Hold on. We'll just back up.

Okay. You made the bread. I made the bread. Yeah. It smelled amazing.

I could smell it cooking inside. The house smelled like fresh break baked bread, which was amazing. I like that a lot. It got done. You burned yourself.

Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah? I forgot. You came outside and said, I burned myself. And I said, how?

And you said, I was taking a picture. And I said, was it still in the oven? And you just kept saying no. And I was like, well, then how did you burn yourself? Was it still in the oven?

No. It was not still in the oven. Did you burn yourself? It out. I put it on the cooling rack, and I took a selfie.

And I got too close. My arm got too close to the pan. Hugging the bread with your phone in your hand and then burned your arm? No. How did your arm get so close to the pan?

I just accidentally touched it. How is it looking today, your burn? It's fine. Okay. Okay.

But then it's sitting out. You got it on the cooling thing, all nice. And then the next thing I know, you're walking around having a slice. And I I thought to myself, aren't you saving that for a video, or are we putting that on the show? And And you're like, no way, dude.

I'm just gonna eat this bread. He said that you needed to eat it fresh. It would taste it better fresh. And you So start a start a video and eat the bread. Drizzle some honey on it.

Sure. Emery tried one bite. She didn't like it. K. But I think she was in her head about it.

Beck refused to even try, anything. You have yet to try some. There's still time. I quite enjoyed it. I do think my recipe said that if you mix it too thoroughly, like, if you mix it too rough, then it might be a little tough.

So I it does taste a little tough, so I might have over Texture wise? Yeah. K. I might have over mixed it a little bit. Well, but you were also eating the end.

Have you had it sliced from the middle part? I have not. Right. So the middle part might be great. It might be.

K. So it's here. We have a toaster oven. My plan is to cut a slice and then, and then try it and see what happens. K.

And you brought the honey? It's here as well. Yes. Supposed to drizzle honey on it. Yeah.

And we'll try the dandelion bread, and we can share it with people here in the office. Do we tell them it has dandelion in it before they try it? Yeah. Okay. Yeah.

We're gonna full disclosure. Alright. I'll make it too. Dandelion bread. Okay.

Come try dandelion bread. It wasn't bad. Okay. Now will I make it again? No.

You know why? Because it is difficult to harvest dandelion petals. I think that was the most tedious part. And you have to wash them and then Yeah. Because they're like a they're so fine Yeah.

That it held all the moisture, so I had to wring out the thing, the lion petals. I won't do that again. But you did. But I did it. But you did it.

Now which recipe did you use? Mine. The one I had. Did. Yours.

Yeah. Yours took way too it seemed too complicated. It had, like, a lemon glaze, and I didn't have fresh lemons. All I had was lemon juice in the bottle, and I didn't wanna use that. K.

So A lemon glaze sounds nice. I know. Maybe on another day, I'll make the other one. No. You won't.

I won't. Yeah. Harvesting dandelions is a pain. Yeah. I won't do it again.

Do you think this is a recipe that went away over time because of the tediousness of that part of the, of the thing? Yes. You can't, like, just go to the store and buy dandelion petal? I also wanna save the dandelions for the bees. Sure.

I get that. So Alright. But I did it. It's done. Check that off my to do list.

Alright. We'll let you know how it is. You liked it, though. I didn't mind it. You had more than one slice?

No. I just had one slice. Oh, you just took a while to eat it. Well, I had one slice, cut it in half. Emery had half.

I see. And I ate her half. That's why it looked like you had two. She goes, what's on top of it? I said, honey.

Yeah. She goes, that is the most you thing I've ever heard. Honey on bread? Yeah. I do.

Alright. I know. Very Chantel. Okay. Twenty sixth annual classy ninety seven second chance prom is coming up on May 17.

That's just sixteen days away. Sixteen days away. It is May 1. I gotta find something to wear. I was thinking about that.

Are you gonna dress in theme? I was thinking about that. I was asked that question yesterday, by a coworker. Said, what are you gonna how are you gonna dress up? And I was like, I was just gonna dress like myself, but fancy.

But I don't know. I don't know how you dress in the theme. The theme this year is Enchanted Forest. Right. I have ideas on how I could, sort of spice up my suit I mean to look a little bit enchanting.

You could get, like, a fairy tale ish. Right? Like, you could get a, like, a fairy tale costume. So you could dress as, like, a a prince. Sure.

What are your ideas to dress I don't know. I'm just kinda pondering. I've got a couple of things rolling around in my head that might work. I don't know. We'll see.

We'll see what I end up doing. Okay. Because I just don't know right now. Are we you gonna coordinate with me? I don't know.

I don't know. What are you wearing? I don't know. Because I was just thinking I would wear my suit. Which one?

The not The blue one? Not the crazy one. No. The crazy one's too much. The blue suit.

My blue suit. Yeah. Okay. But I wanna figure out how to spice up my blue suit to make it a little bit more enchanted. So I gotta think about that a little bit.

Yeah. I don't know what to wear. Oh, man. A dress? Maybe?

Yeah. But Yeah? And you love dress shopping, so that's fun. Something I want I don't love dress shopping. Who loves dress shopping?

People who like dress shopping love it? Blech. Yeah. Well, anyway That's worse than no. Swimsuit shopping is worse.

It's fine. It's just attached to you. It's it's just that's it. But you hear so many people are like, oh, I would never. But I admire I really admire those women like Jamie Lee Curtis Yeah.

Who just are aging gracefully, and they're like, yeah. I'm this is who I am. These wrinkles tell a story. Okay. So I was reading something that said, hey.

I'm 43, and I want to know what to expect in the next ten years. And so then people responded to that. Today is my last day of being 43. K. So here's what people said.

50 is a hundred times better than 40. Really? Know what it is, but something changes. Interesting. Response.

Somebody said, learn about perimenopause and be proactive. You have been learning a lot about it. What does proactive mean? They say lift weights, increase your protein and fiber, audit your friends, and remove the vampires. Woah.

I know. Okay. Learn the difference between joy and happiness. Saying no is freeing. A body in motion stays in motion.

Do not stop moving. Okay. I saw a thing. And not and not to totally just derail you because I assume there's more. Yeah.

There's just a few more. With with regards to movement, I saw a thing that said there are, like, three things you should be able to do K. As you age, and one of them was pick yourself up off the floor. Okay. Like, you should be able to stand, without using your arms.

You should be able to pick yourself up off the floor, and there was one other one. Without using your arms? Yeah. Like, you should be able to stand out of a chair without the the required assistance of your arms. Of a chair.

Not from the ground? No. Correct. Okay. Yeah.

And then get yourself up off the ground in whatever means. Okay. And I can't remember the third one, but they were like, as you get older, like, you should do whatever it takes to make sure that these three things you can still do. Okay. If that means, like, working on your arm strength because you need to be able to get off the ground easier, if that means working on abs and core so that you can get out of a chair without using your arms, whatever it is.

Like, those few things you should always be able to do because those things will keep you safe and active and healthy for a longer amount of time. I wish I could remember the third. Okay. But, anyway You gotta look it up because I'm gonna start doing that today. Oh, good.

You're having a mortality moment. Yeah. Yeah. Awesome. Alright.

I need some arm strength, and I need some core strength. Alright. Okay. And then the last I mean, she got lots of advice, this woman. But then the last piece of advice that I was like, that's fantastic is, like, solo travel, take the girls trip, take yourself to concerts, love yourself, do whatever it takes to make you happy because that's what it's all about.

Yeah. Just do the things that you've wanted to do. Stop holding yourself back. Good. Yeah.

That's that's what I'm doing tomorrow. Taking the day off. Because because I want it. Because I want it. Alright.

Well, good. Those are all good pieces of advice. I'm glad you're I'm glad you're working your way toward 44. Thank you. 44.

For life. Yeah. I knew it. I knew what was coming. Yeah.

Okay. I think, excuse me, I think you told me about this. There was a woman that you a video that you had seen where a woman was like, anytime I get into a funk, I just try to remind myself, like, if I'm having a bad day or whatever, I'm like, this day sucks. Okay. I try to remind myself, like, okay.

Call in the 80 year old woman. And what that means is, you imagine yourself as an 80 year old and that you've just given her the chance to come back and live your life. I did see this video. I don't know if I shared this with you. You did.

Maybe I did. This was really cool. It was cool. A great concept. Yeah.

And the idea is that, yeah, you you are, your 80 year old self traveled back in time to right now and is sitting in the chair you're sitting in, is doing the thing, is having the day. They're reliving today Yeah. As as your 80 year old self traveled back in time and said, today, I'm I'm here. And how is that? Yeah.

How are you going to make today The best. The day that you want to travel back in time? Right. Because even just imagine, we're 40. I'm 40.

We're both 43 Right. For a minute. Imagine our 20 old sales were like, hey. Do you wanna come live your twenties all over again? I'd be like, yeah.

For a day? Absolutely. Right. But then you go back to a day, and it's just boring. Like, you're just sitting there doing, like, the usual stuff.

You would live it out. What I'm saying. No. But that's like, you go back in time to relive the day as it was. Correct.

So you should make today a special day. Make it count. Right. And not necessarily, like, put a bunch of pressure on yourself, but, you know Just make it a good day. Make today a good day because your 80 year old self could travel back and go, hey.

You know, that day started off a little rough, but turned out to be one of the greatest days. Turned out to be pretty okay. Yeah. What do you what do you call it? 80 old funk.

That's what you call it. I don't know. What do you call it? I don't know. What would you call it?

I'm just trying to think of a name. Because if it if you were gonna write a book about this concept, what would the title be that you would get people to buy your book? Eighty year old funk, maybe. This It's not bad. I I don't know if that title is gonna sell a lot of copies.

Have you read 80 year old funk? 80 year old funk? No. Right. What's it about?

Old music? No. It's about time travel. Interesting. Sounds fascinating.

Yeah. I'll check it out. 80 year old funk. The best seller. It could be.

Well, it's not even our idea. We can't sell that book. I'm just saying. I I Still that back. A name.

Like, I don't think I don't think the video that I shared with you, they didn't give it a name. No. They just gave the concept. And I don't think they own the concept. You could write a book about it.

Oh. Still still. What would you call it? What would you call it? 80 year old funk.

I don't hate the title, actually. I mean, we'll workshop it. Yeah. But We gotta workshop it. But it's not bad.

That's a rough draft. Okay. We went out fishing on Sunday. You went out fishing on Sunday, and I did some walking around. There was a moment in time where it got chilly and it started to rain, and so I was just hanging out in the truck because it got cold.

And I was standing in the water getting rained on. I expected something different that was gonna be happening that day, so I didn't adequately prepare items to bring. I didn't bring a book. No. I know.

Yeah. That activity fishing was the secondary activity. Yeah. So then I was stuck with nothing to do and no service on my phone. Oh, interesting.

You have to get real creative when you don't have anything to do and you don't have service on your phone. Okay. I couldn't scroll Instagram. I couldn't scroll TikTok. I don't have any games on my phone.

Okay. So I went through my phone, all of the pictures in my phone. Oh. And I was editing, deleting old pictures, like, stuff I don't need, old screenshots. Well, that's a project you've been meaning to get to.

Yeah. I know. And it was actually quite nice. And then I had deleted so many that it felt nice to let go of all of that Okay. Garbage that I didn't need.

Yeah. And so now I'm, like, trying to do better about keeping my phone pictures clean. Nice. I know that. Build albums and and things like that or what?

No. No. No. No. No.

I should have. I just didn't have enough time to do that. Okay. But, yes, that sounds like a great idea to do that. But now I'm going through my phone.

I didn't get through, and you didn't take as long fishing as I thought that you would take. So now I'm, like, looking through my screenshots again going, I need to do this again. Well, go through. Do another round. I do need another round.

Because I think for me, it was, it was I didn't wanna leave you stranded in the truck, and I wasn't having much luck fishing. And I know it was getting cold and and darker by the minute. So I kinda just went, you know, I probably let's ease up a little bit. So you left early is what you're saying? I'm saying I I got kinda like I I feel like I've taken my fair share of the time that need needed to be taken for the for the weekend.

So maybe, you know, if I was by myself, I probably would have kept going until, like, forever. If you were yeah. You go fishing by yourself. It you don't ever come home. You're there for hours and hours and hours.

Yeah. But I also wander around and take pictures, and I look at the mountains, and I I spend a lot of time just dilly dallying while I'm fishing, which is what it's about. It's nice. I'm out in nature. That's the greatest part, I think, of the whole thing is that I'm, like, out in the woods.

It's great. I know. And I didn't mind it either until it started to rain because I could I can spend I could have brought a brought a blanket. You had a blanket in the truck. If it had been nice, I would have laid down and taken a nap.

But I also had the rascal dog. The rascal. That rascal. No. I know.

I know. But But it was nice. And if you need another companion to go with you, I've got more screenshots that I can edit on my phone. Well, you are welcome anytime. I just feel bad that you get bored.

And now you have your own waders and boots and and all the gear. So if if I took you back to where we were, it's easier to wade in. It it'd be a better fishing experience for you than the last time I took you and had you hike some really steep mountains. That was that was, my bad. That was my bad.

Yeah. Yeah. I don't wanna I don't wanna go there again. But I do wanna go fish there again, but I'll take someone else. But if there is a spot like, even if you take me to that crazy spot, if there's a spot that I don't have to like, I can just hang out on the top area Oh, for sure.

Don't have to do the crazy hiking thing out. You wanna go fishing. Oh. I would take you fishing in your waders and gear and all that stuff, to an easier to fish, easier access point. Maybe.

Or I'll just I'll just bring a book to read. Or that. Or that. Good thing you got that gear. I know.

I know. We'll get some use out of it one way or another. I just know it. I I'll use it again. Don't you worry.

I'll use it again. May maybe soon? I mean, you gotta get a license. Or you use it only on free fishing day. But I'll be I'll be backpacking on free fishing day, so you're gonna have to get all your gear and go by yourself.

No. That's not any fun. Well I only got that stuff to hang out with you. I'm not going fishing alone. Are you nuts?

Go for hours. It's amazing. You get to just stare at the mountains and stand in water and sometimes touch a fish. I just saw this on East Idaho News. The Idaho Falls Farmers Market is back Hey.

On Saturday. Is it really? Yes. It is. Alright.

Weather's supposed to be unreal on Saturday. A great day to kick off the Farmers Market. Yeah. And it runs through It runs every Saturday from nine to two through October 25. Okay.

Awesome. Saying that What are they saying? What are they saying? This year, the market is bigger and more community focused than ever. Okay.

They have a 73 vendors, so they're up from a 41 last season. Woah. The event draws about 8,000 to 9,000 visitors with some weeks as high as 12,000. That's amazing. Isn't that cool?

Yeah. The theme this year is bringing unity to the community. Now I saw they do a big, kinda art poster design contest thing every year, and I saw the one for this year. It's very cool. I know.

They Yeah. They're they gave everybody a chance to vote. I'm like, I think they had four. It's like the top four, and they gave everybody the chance to vote. I think it's pretty cool.

I don't they will have live entertainment from eleven to 12:30 tomorrow. There's two different performers tomorrow. Cool. And they also I didn't know this. The market accepts SNAP and EBT benefits.

Oh, no kidding. Yeah. So if you do have these, then they encourage you to stop by the information booth for guidance on how to use those. That's really cool. I dig that.

I know that they they do, limited edition prints of the artwork as well. They'll do posters and shirts and stuff, and they'll have those at the info booth as well because I saw somebody asking if they could get that stuff, and that that's that was the response. Come see us at the information booth. I know I'm gonna be hanging out there on May 17 from nine until noon. That is the Saturday of prom Oh.

Because it will be the last chance to get free tickets. Oh, okay. There with me. So if you're gonna be at the Farmer's Market earlier in the day before prom, stop by and see me for sure because I will be there, for a few hours handing out free prom tickets while I'm there. So it'll be your last, last, last chance to get free ones.

But, you can get free ones right now if you go to Browning's Honey or if you go to Fresh. That's right. So, anyway or you can buy them online tomorrow, half price Friday. All that about prom. Would.

Would. Which is just a side note to say I'll be there supporting, the Farmers Market on the seventeenth from nine until noon, and you can stop by and see me then. But go check it out this weekend. You know what? Opening weekend.

Best part of hearing that the farmer's market is opening? All the foods? Well, yes. But I All the crafts and handmade things. Yes.

All the wandering around by the river. Yes. All the beautiful weather. Warm weather. That's what I was gonna say.

I knew I'd get to it eventually. Yes. Yeah. No. That is a big deal.

When farmer's market's in town, you know it's time for spring slash summer. Oh, yeah. So I dig on that. That's great. Yeah, baby.

Cool. I wonder if, we should probably head down and check it out because sometimes, some of the, booths have, plants and stuff for your garden. And as I get ready to plant, maybe they'll have something I didn't think about. They do. And that might be worth going to check out.

I'm I'm game. Okay. Let's go check out the farmer's market. I love it. Kicks off on Saturday.

What? Memorial Drive? That's what it's called. Yes. In Idaho Memorial Drive.

Sweet. Would you rather this or that, the pre birthday edition? I don't have a I don't have a I don't have a birthday edition of would you rather. Pre birthday edition. Doesn't have to have anything to do with your birthday because it's pre birthday.

Would you rather only be able to drink from a high powered fire hose at full force No way. Or only be able to drink from a frequently used bird bath? I like when I get those reactions. No. See, I was like, no.

The second option is gonna be way better than that. And then the second option comes up, and it's worse. So I'm taking the fire hose, I guess, or fire hydrant or whatever. It's a full blast. It's no.

It's it's more than that. What is it? It's dirty bird bodies. They don't they don't really care where they go. You know what I'm saying?

And they've got yeah. They got disease. Potentially. But I don't need that in my drinking water. Now if I filter it, maybe.

Can't it has to be drunk directly from the I don't even know if the fire hydrant water is clean. I just know that it's high powered. Good luck. Yeah. You get all your drink in one shot.

You don't even need to, like, hold it on. Just hit me once. Boom. Water. Alright.

Hydrated. Thanks. Carry on. Use a towel. I'm gonna go with that one too just because sound logic.

What? Because I have sound logic? No. Just because I don't want dirty bird bath water. That's my logic.

I just don't want dirty bird bath water. So I'm going have you seen we have a bird bath. Yeah. And those birds I can't keep the water in it. The water goes away so fast.

I don't know why it is I fill it every day, and then it's empty. It's just dirty all the time too because those dirty birds. You dirty birds. Like the Atlanta Falcons. Isn't that what they call the falcons, the dirty birds?

It's either the falcons or the no. It's either the falcons or the ravens, and I think it's the ravens that are known as the dirty birds. But you could it could be Atlanta. Now I gotta think about it. I think it's Atlanta.

I think you're right. But are falcons dirty birds? I have no idea. Or it could be the eagles. Who's to say?

It's not. It's not. Or the Cardinals. They But I will tell you a lot of bird mascot. Atlanta Falcons.

Yeah. Dirty Birds is the nickname, gained popularity after Jamal Anderson began performing a touchdown celebration dance with bird like motion, which was dubbed the dirty bird. That's it's it was big deal in the nineties when they gained that nickname, the dirty birds, because of this. Caca. Like a falcon.

On this day in 1999, May first 1999, a sneak peek Of? SpongeBob SquarePants Oh. Aired right after the nineteen ninety nine Kids' Choice Awards. SpongeBob. It officially premiered July 17 of that year, but it officially aired on TV after the Kids' Choice Awards on 05/01/1999.

SpongeBob is celebrating twenty six years today. Wow. SpongeBob. Isn't that some SpongeBob. Isn't that something?

I didn't think, it was twenty six years ago. I didn't either. But here it is. Twenty six years ago, SpongeBob SquarePants. Our kids used to watch SpongeBob.

I used to watch SpongeBob. And my favorite part about SpongeBob was when the squirrel would go to visit, and she had to wear her little ocean suit. Yes. That was my favorite part. And then when SpongeBob went to visit her once, he forgot his wet suit And dried up dried out.

Inside of her underwater snow globe dome thing. Yeah. It is the highest rated, it says the series, immediately became the highest rated rated most viewed animated Saturday morning program Really? In 1999, beating Pokemon. It was received worldwide with critical acclaim.

You're it's Pokemon. No. It's there's no. Which anyway, it it received worldwide critical acclaim, both millennials and Gen z. The series is the fourth longest running American animated series.

Really? Yep. It is the longest running American children's animated series surpassing Arthur last year. Hey. It's Arthur.

Yes. That's No. That's Franklin. That's right. Yeah.

The series has run for a total of 14 series. It was, renewed for a fifteen fifteenth season Arthur. In 2023 that premiered July of last year. Hold on. I'll look up on Arthur.

What's Arthur? He's that, Arthur cartoon. Is that what you looked up? What is Arthur? He's an oh, no.

He's not an aardvark. What is he? What are you? I don't know. What animal is Arthur?

He is an aardvark. Yeah. He is a brown anthropomorphic aardvark. I knew it. I knew it.

I knew it. Now he is not an anteater. Okay. But an aardvark still has a long nose, not a round head. The ears are right.

Arthur. I've never seen that show in my life. I see you don't know the theme song. And it's not, hey. It's Arthur.

Come into your house. Isn't it isn't it, when you get caught between the moon and New York City. Isn't that the theme? That's, that's the theme from Arthur. Pretty sure.

Pretty sure I'm right. Got all your factual information right here. Yeah. That's the theme from Martha. I just know it.

It's gonna wrap up the show for today. We will not be in the studio tomorrow. We'll be out celebrating, this lady rolling on quads. Quads. Rolling on quads.

Four fours. 44. Yeah. Rolling on 40 fours. It's a new one I learned today, and I like it a lot.

I like it too. I'm kinda I'm kinda envious that you're gonna be rolling on quads for nine months before I get a chance to roll on quads. I've been rolling on quads my whole life. Have you? Oh, yeah.

Right. Have you seen my quads? No. What is that noise? My quads.

Is that like a thigh? No. It's my quads. I think your quads are your thighs. Right?

Hey. It's quads. It's a good thing we have the Internet. I know. Yeah.

Your quads are your back of your thighs. No. That's your hamstrings. Where's your quads? Where are your quads?

They're the front of your thighs. Got it. Quads. Hammy's on the back, quads on the front. It's thighs.

Yeah. I've been rolling on quads my whole life. Sweet. Alright. Hercules over here.
