Full show transcript:

Hey. What's up? Hey, you guys. Hey, you guys. Hey, you over there.

What are you doing? Oh, I'm just here. You're really far away. Not really. Let's Reach out your hand.

Stop it. Reach it out for real. Stop it. It won't reach. I tried.

It reach. You did. You reach. You're not even trying at all. It's Thursday, March 20, the first day of spring, and there's fresh snow on the ground.

Isn't that great? So beautiful. Love it. In like a lion, out like a lamb. It's how I say it the whole time.

It's too early to play a game, but we give it a shot anyway. And, how do you think it went? It went so well. I don't know that it did. I kinda feel like it didn't go great.

It's okay. It went good. It didn't go great, but it went good. You sure about that? It went well.

You sure about that? Josh's unsubscribe didn't stick, and he's frustrated. That's right. I'm still getting the exact same email that I unsubscribed from, and Yeah. I don't care for that.

Quit sending me the email. I get it. So I unsubscribed it. Know. Yeah.

We'll see what happens. It's hard to find time to get together with friends That's a fact. Adult. Yeah. Yep.

I make weird scared noises. They're normal scared noises. They're normal scared noises. What's the weird noise you made? The girls.

What'd you talk about? Nothing. Yeah. That's about how it went. Until you talk about everything.

Whatever. Minutes later Well half an hour later. Spark a memory. You know? Bring up something that I talked about.

To do. Yeah. Josh made the bed for real. Yeah. Not that half bed you made.

What was that? A half bed. Yeah. It was not necessary. It might be a solo anniversary vacation.

I mean, I'll be together. Yeah. We'll go together. We'll just not hang out. Just do all the things alone.

This snorkeling trip is so fun by myself. By this fishing guided tour is amazing. Look at all these fish I caught. Wow. Old rubber lips over here.

We get to the bottom of why Josh never wants to try a bite of my food. And it's, kind of an emotional moment for you. It's you think that's what it is, and that's not. You've not you've not got to the bottom of anything. I think we might have.

The YFCA gala is coming up. That's exciting. You could call it a gala if you want. It's up to you. If you want that too.

The fish doorbell and the big bear eagle cam. Little action on the fish doorbell. Lots of action today on the eagle cam. And we saw saw them eating. Yeah.

Big deal. Big news. And we've got brackets in the tournament competition. Wish us luck. Yeah.

Come on, Houston. Let's or Or Baylor. Florida. Or did you pick Baylor in one? For the second one.

Yeah. Interesting pick. Interesting pick. I know. We are Josh and Chantel.

This is wake up classy 97, the podcast. Hope you enjoy the show. Enjoy. Do do do. That was the saddest do do do.

Enjoy the show. Hi there. Hi. Hey. Hey.

What's up? Sup? Just repeating everything I say. No. No.

I'm doing it in my own way. But say your own thing. But I'm saying what you say, but in my own way. Maybe just say your own thing. Cam.

Your own way. No. I don't wanna. Apparently, you don't wanna. I don't wanna.

Okay. Hi. Welcome to spring. It's snowing. Snowing.

Today is the, first day of spring officially. Yeah. Officially. Officially is the first day of spring. You say that, but here it is, coming in like a sheep, I think they call it, when, when it snows like this on the first day of spring.

No. I think you're backwards. In like a sheep, out like a lion. Yeah. In like a sheep.

But but what does it mean? I don't know. Yeah. In like a lion, out like a lamb is the other way around in which is a, weather proverb that describes March as unpredictable weather starting with harsh winter like conditions like a lion and transitioning to milder spring like weather like a lamb. You're right.

I did have it backwards. I also said sheep instead of lamb. Can't believe you. Ew. Who even allows you to talk?

I don't know. So here we are in like a lion. As I as I said originally Float like a butterfly sting you like a bee? Yeah. It's I don't know the song, but I know the quote.

Well, it's basically just that, but they go, float like a butterfly. Okay. Okay. So it's bringing In like a lion, out like a lamb. Out like a lamb.

I don't know what you're talking about. I'm just trying to you talk. I don't know. See, this whole entire thing has been saying the same thing as the other person in our own way. In our own way.

We're We're having a good time. Having a yeah. Okay. It is international day of happiness as well. So here we go.

That. It's spring. We're happy. I happy. Let's go.

I happy. Me too. Me too. I need to go back to bed, probably. That sounds about right.

I think that's I think that's the whole issue. Just shake it off, Chantel. Shake it off. Shake it off. We're gonna play a little bit of a game.

Oh, this is a early morning game. Let's see if my brain's up for it. It's kind of a game. What is it? Well, everything is.

I've got my scratch paper ready. Oh, you don't need it. You say that, but I always prepare. I've got that, and I've got my pen. I'm ready.

Well, I love a good list. I'm ready to make a list. And Entertainment Weekly has put together a list of some of the best fictional best friends. Fictional best friends. K.

I want you the game is tell me there's a list of 10 here, and then I've created some of my own that weren't on the list that should be Okay. So I want you to tell me if you can name some friends on this list. Fictional best friends. Fictional best friends. Alright.

Go. Oh, you just want me to come up with with them? Yeah. I thought you were gonna ask me them. You said you had a list.

No. I expected you see I said I want you to say No. And then I'll tell you if it's on the list. Fictional best friends. What was oh, man.

This gets going great. You know I didn't watch a lot of TV. So But, Josh, you know best friends. Kimmy was best friends with, yeah, Kimmy was was, best friends with, the oldest Tanner on Full House. What was her name?

Because it was Michelle, Stephanie, and That is not her name? On the list. I know what you're talking about. Older sister's name? I don't know.

That's so funny that you would say Full House first. I told you I watched very little TV. Full House was one that I watched. It, but this is also movies. Oh, movies.

Let's see. In in big, those those two were great. Stephanie. Isn't it Stephanie? Stephanie's the middle one.

Oh, it's driving me wild. I'm looking. I'm looking. DJ. That's it.

Okay. DJ Tanner. Sorry. Kimmy and DJ were best friends. Okay.

They were. This that's not on the list. In big, Tom Hanks' character and, and the other That's good. Josh. And what was the other kid's name?

Yeah. Because Tom Hanks' character's name was Josh and then Those are that's a good friend. Let's see. They're best friends. What's your favorite movie?

One of your favorite movies. Oh, so many? I don't know what you mean. Maverick and Goose. Yeah.

I don't know that they were best friends. They were they were partners. They were They were also best friends. Did you not see this? Yeah.

That's fine. Singing scene. Piano scene. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. You've lost that love and feel about that? Yeah. But it but, again, they were more partners. Not best friends.

Alright. That's fine. Alright. Yeah. Sure.

So Maverick and Goose from Top Gun. Wayne and Garth. Yeah. Wayne's World. See, you should've just read the list.

Apparently, Woody and Buzz? Sure. Bill Fred? Great Friends. Joey and Chandler from Fred's?

I guess. Were they I mean, they lived together, but were they the best of the best friends? Best of best friends. Alright. SpongeBob and Patrick?

Yeah. Great friends. Lucy and Ethel? Who are they? Oh, Luz is that, Lucy like I love Lucy?

There it is. Okay. Good job. Thelma and Louise. Okay.

We're Laverne and Shirley friends. Friends. Okay. Cool. And then some I added that weren't on this list, Sam and Frodo.

Okay. Samwise No. I know. Gamgee. Yeah.

Timon and Pumbaa. Sure. Good friends. Han Solo and Chewbacca. Uh-huh.

Best friends. Mhmm. What? Partners. And friends.

But you don't know what a friend is, I'm afraid. Marlon and Dory. Okay. And Todd and Copper. Todd and Copper?

There's a whole song about them being best of friends. Who are Todd and Copper? You don't know Todd and Copper? I'm a bloodhound. Oh, Josh.

The fox and the hound? I've not seen the fox and the hound. You haven't? Nope. Oh, it's too sad.

We can't ever What about what about, the frog and toad? Were they were they best friends? Were the best of friends. What about, Gerald and Piggy or whatever? Yeah.

Best best friends. You're getting into books. I like it. Would you would you say Harry and Ron and Hermione were the best of friends? Yes.

I would, Josh. Yes. I would. Alright. Look at you.

You finally came through and you my brain was not awake enough for a game in the 06:30 time slot here. Wasn't really a game, though, was it? Well, no. It should've just been let's talk about friends from things instead of making me think so hard. And then I came up with Kimmy and DJ I know.

Which is really me digging deep and big. You didn't have big on your list. It's not my list, is it? I thought you said I made a list. No.

I made my own list. This has been a great game. Hey. You know another best friend pair? You and me, pal.

Oh, let's go. No. We're not friends. We're partners. Right.

Now you get it. We're coworkers. No. Well yeah. Something like that.

Okay. I'm still Billy. Josh and Billy. There you go. The people from there.

You very much. Josh and Billy. This has been fun. His list of friends. You wanna hear some good news?

I really do. Alright. Me too. Let's talk about, this. It's it's happening in Tennessee.

There's a cancer clinic that is impacting people in rural areas using a special hologram technology that allows speedy contact with expert doctors. So instead of missing opportunities to reach patients in need because of long commutes, doctors at the clinic, beam themselves very futuristic to different locations. So it's more than a phone call or even a video call. It is almost like the doctor's really there. So they're using two way holographic or hologram technology.

So picture, you go to a doctor's office and you're in the in the room, and there's like a like a light box of sorts. Yeah. And in comes the doctor, and the doctor is right there in real time. They can see you in the hologram. You can see them in the hologram, and you can communicate for real back and forth, face to face remotely, not like a video call.

World that we live in. Is very futuristic. It's very, very cool. It's a giant breakthrough because it levels off the playing field, ensuring the patients in remote locations receive the same quality of care as those in big cities. So they get access to, yeah, they get access to specialists.

They get access to, you know, maybe they have a a a doctor. I mean, think about I'm trying to think about, like, here. Like, maybe you live, you know, in in a real small town, Salmon, but you need access to doctors in Pocatello, for some special treatment. Not allowing you to travel. Or or, you know, just as an example.

And and so you would be able to go into a clinic in Salmon, and they would have this technology where you could talk face to face in real time with your doctor and I'm kind of amazed that somebody figured out how to make that work. Well, so that technology existed sort of in an art space. And I think I I've I've shown this to you and and some other folks, but they they have, like, a big stand up version of this that people can go to, you know, an art museum or whatever and walk into the box and appear as if they're in some other location. It's fa it's really, really fascinating. And it is it's like a big white light box that you walk into, and it projects image of incredibly high quality, in the other location.

So now they've worked it out to where it, you know, it also is transferring sound and everything else. So as you talk yeah. Where is this happening in Tennessee? Happening in Tennessee right now to the cancer clinic, which is a big deal. So now, you know, you think about you're able to get to a small clinic, and you're maybe re going through treatments and you have some questions or whatever.

You can go and you can talk face to face with your health provider, which is really, really cool. Really cool. Yeah. Yeah. Kinda neat.

So, anyway, good use of technology. I think it's kinda fun and super futuristic, and it's good news to get you going. So remember yesterday, yesterday, I was really excited because I took the time to unsubscribe, to an email that annoys me that I get every day? Yes. And I finally went through the process of scrolling to the bottom and finding the unsubscribe link and pushing it.

And? Got the email again this morning. So it works real well. Yeah. That's what I say.

I don't think those unsubscribe buttons actually work. And here's something else. I'll tell you. Okay? I think every time you unsubscribe, sometimes you have to enter your it'll take you to a new window.

Sure. And it'll say, what email are you trying to unsubscribe? Right? Think it, like, puts that email when you type in your email, it puts you up for a whole bunch of different emails lists. They're like, ah, this person wants out.

Let's get them. Yeah. Let's load them up with a bunch of crap they don't want. Yeah. That's what I think.

Well, I think that's what's happened. So I I did try to unsubscribe again today and said, no. Really, I don't want this. Stop sending me this. You said that?

No. Oh. I just unsubscribed from all emails from this place again. But if you wanna know what they wanna tell me about, it's something about Paramount plus has ordered a new season of a show. What show?

The show School Spirits. I don't know that show. Yeah. Well, third season coming soon. Season two of HBO's The Last of Us will be available to stream in a ASL.

Hey. So that's kind of big news for you. If you wanna if you wanna practice, you can, you can watch the show, and they have an interpreter, that will pop up on the screen, I suppose. That's kind of interesting. That is interesting.

What else is happening in this? Something in ASM. I'm trying to practice. You know? I do know.

And here's something that we weren't planning on talking about, but since you started me, here I go. Right? I'm behind on my ASL class. Oh. I have to film two videos and upload them, and I haven't done it yet.

And then my class What are you waiting for? Was last night. So now I have three videos. What are you waiting for? I just haven't had time to sit down and do it.

What have you been doing? I've been busy. Do your class. I know. I was gonna sit down and do it last night because they had a little bit of time last night, and the house was quiet.

And then I was like, oh, I should just do it right now. But I just gotten out of the shower, and I didn't wanna record after I just gotten out of the shower with my wet hair. You gotta submit these to a public Yes. Forum where other people can see them. Yeah.

No. I get you. I gotta be You gotta look good for class. Tip top shape. Yeah.

Okay. Gotta look good for class. Well, I don't know how to help you. I don't either. I just gotta sit down and do it.

I know. I know. Thanks, dad. Get get going on your class. Don't tell me what to do.

Unsubscribe from those emails. I tried again. We'll see what happens. I'll probably get the email tomorrow, but I'll I'll be sure to pop in a little update and let you know. Here's hoping.

I'll be on pins and needles. Just waiting. Yeah. See if I have to delete an email again. So just more annoying now because I've actually taken the time To do the to do the thing, to get rid of it.

Like, my next step is I'm gonna I'm just gonna block it as spam. Then it'll just go to the junk folder, and then I never have to look at it again. Yeah. Yeah. Send me that email again.

You're getting spam notified because I've requested now twice for you to stop. Stop. Spam notified. I wish you could do that to people. Spam notified.

Sorry. This person has put a block on you. You can go stand in the junk line, which never gets checked. So You go over there. Luck.

Have fun in your junk line. I saw a thing on Instagram, and it's never been more true. I've never seen anything more true. What is it? It says adult friendships are like, I miss you.

Let's hang out in May. And then May comes, and you go, ugh. I can't. How about October? Can we hang out in October?

That's a long time. I I know that that that's what the friendships are like. It's constantly just trying to fit time in your schedule to see the people that you like. Well, yeah. What it is.

I mean, that's just life, it seems. Right? I know. But they're when you're a kid, you get to see your friends all the time. Every day because they're in school with you.

Exactly. I never get to see my friends every day. What? One of my best friends lives in Meridian, and one of my best friends lives in West Valley, Utah. I know.

And so I never get to see them every day. I know. And we were talking yesterday. Together, like, which we we saw them in January together. Yeah.

We all of our birthdays are in May, so we try to have a vacation. And that's that was We were trying to get together, and it's just it's not I don't know. We're gonna make it work. We're gonna make make cation work? Yeah.

I don't I don't know why we need little tiny horses to run through. Stop it, Joshua. Well, what's the deal with the little horses? Because that's my frustration. There's just no time.

Here's the thing. Work always gets in the way, doesn't it? Of what? Of just life? Doing the things that you actually want to do.

Are you having a hard time Yeah. Right now? Kinda. But was it something I did? Yeah.

It is, actually. Is it all these tiny horses? Yeah. If I'm gonna be mad at anyone, it's gonna be you. Why?

Because you're easy. You're an easy target. Well, pick somebody else. No. It's a it's a Pick somebody else that works here.

It's a compliment. Right? No. They say that when you get upset, you take it out on the people you're closest to. That's you.

Pick somebody else. Can't. It has to be you. Pick somebody else. Why?

I don't wanna be the reason. I'm not mad at you, really. I just wanna hang out with my friends. Well, do it. It came to my attention last night that when people are scared, they make some interesting noises.

Like when they get startled? Yeah. What happened? Oh, I got spooked. By what?

By the dog. Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah.

Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah.

Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah.

Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah.

Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah. Woah.

Woah. Woah. Wo Before we get into the noise you made, because that's gonna be fantastic. I'm gonna try and recreate it. I don't I don't quite remember it.

Walk me through the scenario. Take the picture for me. Absolutely. K? I was home alone.

Alright. And I it was dark, and I let the dog out, tied her up. K. And then went to get her to bring her back inside after she'd been out for a minute. And she wasn't coming, and she wasn't coming.

And I was it was cold, and I didn't have shoes on, so I was calling from the garage door. From inside. From inside. From inside the garage. Yeah.

Luna, come here. And she wasn't and I was like, come get a tree. Fascinated by other stuff. Yeah. Well, and there's a cat that's been in our yard, so she's smelling the cat.

Dog, and she's busy. But then she also gets tangled around our deck posts or around chairs. And so I was like, did she get tangled up? And then I was cranky, and I was like, oh, did you get tangled up? And so then I'm walking outside barefoot.

Uh-huh. And I go out. There's a section where by our house, there's, like, concrete, like a concrete pad, and then grass. And I was like, well, I'm not walking on the grass because there's still snow on the grass. K.

So I go to the grass, and I see her, and she's sniffing for that cat. And I go, come on. Come get a treat. And as soon as I said the word treat, she starts barreling down at me. Alright.

Like, yeah. Let's go. And now keep in mind, this is only a 15 pound dog. Right. But she's also tough.

Yeah. She's muscle. She's a lot of muscle. So when you're have a leash on her, she can pull you. Yeah.

And so she comes, and she's got this long lead. Yeah. Her long lead. Yeah. And so I'm always afraid she's gonna trip me when she comes barreling in like that.

Sure. But then she comes, like, running trucking full speed at me, and I went That's the noise? One more time? Woo hoo hoo hoo hoo. Yeah.

That's a good one. I, I wish I had video of this No. Thing that happened. That's great. I didn't want her to trip me with the lead.

I, like, kind of hugged the house a little bit, like, put my hands on the wall of the house, like, so that was fun. That is fun. Then it just made me think of all the noises that you make when you get scared. Well, see, and I was I was thinking this was gonna go down inside the house, and maybe you, you know she follows you around, but then you couldn't find her. And then you turned around, and there she was, and then you made a No.

Like a ghost. Mostly mostly her just barreling down at me. Yeah. And, again, she's only fifteen pounds. Right.

But Muscle and a long lead. Speed. Yeah. And she's fast. She's very fast.

See that white thing come at you from the dark. Oh. And like a ghost. You saw a ghost. What noises do you make when you're scared?

I don't get scared. Oh, you don't get scared. That's so lame. I I mean, I don't, like, jump. There are times I get startled, but I don't, I don't go.

I'm no fun. You are no fun. I'm just an old grumpy Buddy daddy. Hard candy eating crazy old man. Get off my lawn.

You know, all that stuff. That's me. And then there's you over there singing ghosts. You went out with your dude friends last night. Okay.

I went out with my friend last night. We were each out with our friends. And then when we met up afterward, I said, what'd you talk about? And you said, oh, nothing really. Right.

And I went, that's We just hung up for three and a half hours. Didn't talk. State food. Listen. It was it was, it was really cool.

It was funny to me, though, that, like, I I said, hey, guys. Let's let's, like, meet up after work. Let's just have a a little hang. And, and they were like, yeah. That sounds like a cool idea.

We can have some foods and and and just hang out. And so that was the plan. And then, come to find out, you have also, a plans, and then we ended up at the same place across the restaurant from one another, which I think is just really funny. It was funny. Like, you're having your thing.

I'm over here having my thing. It was super funny. Anyway, it was it was good. I was busy doing my thing. You were busy doing your thing.

When we were going to leave, my friend says, hey. Are you gonna go say goodbye to Josh? And I went, I probably should. I hadn't planned on it. But Well and but here's here's your goodbye because we're we are sitting, you know, at a at a bigger, like, tall table, and you were in a booth in a different part of the of the place, and you came over to where where we were.

I had my leftover sitting next to me. You opened up the Styrofoam thing, took my bread out, and then closed it like, what are you doing? And they're like, bye. See you at home. That was how you said bye.

But you didn't also see I don't think you also saw that you had ordered pasta Yeah. I know. You tried to pick it up. I tried to pick it up. With your hand.

I don't know what you were doing. I didn't it didn't look like pasta. What did you think it was? Burger or something. So I tried to pick that up and take that out also.

And then when I put my fingers Yeah. Underneath it, I went, oh, that's not a solid piece. You're trying to pick up my pasta with your hand. I did see. I thought it was weird, and then you just hurried and closed the lid, put my bread on top of it, and then went, bye.

Okay. See you. Then I ran away. Yeah. Don't act.

I knew girls like you in high school. Yeah. You knew girls like me now. You married her. Yeah.

Look at it. Look at me. This is not new. I just do annoying things, and then I run away. This is this is me.

I've been doing this to you for twenty years. Don't act surprised. This is very true. Like, now my bread's out. Okay.

What I was going to talk about was the fact that you said, oh, we didn't talk about anything. Yeah. And then later on in the night, after some prying, I got the real meat and potatoes with some juice, and I was like, this is what I wanted to hear. It's because it wasn't, like, important. It wasn't at the forefront of your mind.

Right. After some prying Yes. You, like, sat up on the bed all weird. Like, tell me the stories. And I went, what are you talking about?

We just hung out. Let me tell you that you didn't even ask what I talked about. Right. Take note. I will never I will never stop asking you what you talked about.

Asked how your friend was. Yeah. Yeah. You did. Yeah.

Yeah. You don't care what we talked about, though? No. Doesn't matter. I'm gonna tell you anyway.

I know. So you have to pry to get, like, anything, and I'm over here going like, here we go. You're so rude. I'm not rude. Just Pay attention to me.

You married this. You knew what you got. I did. I did. So you made or you washed the sheets the other day.

Well, yeah. And then what day was that? I can't remember. We were too busy, and so you asked Emery. No.

It was Tuesday. So you would ask Emery. She was home, and you said, hey. Can you move the sheets into the dryer for us? And she said, yeah.

Fine. Yeah. By the time we got home, only one of the sheets was dry, and the other one was still a little bit damp. Right. We didn't, like fitted sheet was dry.

The fitted sheet was dry, but the mattress protector and the top sheet were still needed to be dried. And, and so, yeah, that's that's what happened. Fit a sheet in the laundry basket, and then you were downstairs waiting for the sheets to dry. That's correct. I didn't wanna wait.

I was tired, and I was cold. Right. And so I just made the bed with the fitted sheet, and I said, good night. You didn't say good night. You disappeared.

And and because we were hanging out downstairs, and then you disappeared, and I continued to hang out downstairs waiting for the the dryer. And then once it finished, I threw the stuff in the laundry basket, walked upstairs, and the you were in bed. And and I said, what is this? I said, I was waiting to get this the rest of the stuff to make the bed, and you're like, I already made it. And I went, no.

I know. But you don't have all the parts. Like, you've you've half made the bed. You've done a terrible job. Like, this is not how the bed is made, and you're like, well, I'm already in it.

So midnight back out. Like, this is I'm done. We'll worry about it tomorrow. But for now, I'm going to bed. So that top sheet.

I left the basket just on the floor in the bedroom, and I was the whole the whole night, I went, if there's a fire and I have to get out, I'm gonna trip over that basket because it shouldn't be in here. There's not enough walkway to get past that laundry basket. Because when I woke up to use the restroom tripped over the basket. Tripped over the basket. Quickly.

And I went, we should have made the bed Yeah. Properly. I know. So I got home I get home before you, from work. So yesterday, stripped the whole bed, made it the right way Thank you.

And put it all back together, and then I went, job done. You're you're nice to live with. I made the whole bed. Thanks for being a good roommate. Yeah.

A a roommate. I don't know what to do with that. I'm sorry that I'm a bad roommate. Well, you you were just if you're not a bad roommate, just are a selfish kinda one. It's like, I'm tired now, so I'm going to bed now, and I'm just gonna use what I have available.

And that's half the rest of the day. Care of it the next day. You think? Yeah. I would have.

Only because the basket would have been in your path. Well and I like sleeping with the top sheet, but I'm desperate. Desperate time. Desperate. I was.

It was cold, and I was tired. I said, I'm making the bed with the one chi, and I'm going to bed. We'll worry about the rest of it tomorrow. It's way past my bedtime. It was early.

You you made the bed and went to bed early. No. Yeah. Yeah. We turn 20 this year.

Who? You and me. What? What are you getting at? I know.

We've been married for, twenty years this year. What a what an exciting thing. Yeah. It is exciting. Look at us.

Look at us. Look at us. Couple of people married twenty years. Wanna go on a trip, but we haven't been able to decide where. And people keep asking us, have you picked?

Have you picked? And we go, no. Because we're apparently terrible at planning. Well, that is very true. But I'm also, like, I'm trying to decide, are we going, like, around our anniversary time?

Is that the plan? I don't know because around our anniversary time, the flights are more expensive. Not necessarily true depending on where we wanna go. But I'm also I've been looking at deals, and I feel like we're not within that ninety day window that a deal is going to find us. Right.

We're getting into June deals, but we aren't yet into July deals. Okay. And so I've been watching for these July deals to start showing up. Okay. Okay.

I haven't seen one yet. Well, you had an idea. Somebody gave you an idea last night, and you were very stoked about it. Listen. I think this idea could be it.

We need to get busy on a couple of things. Yes. We still like, we are way behind on this passport. Yes. First We are.

First time. If we're gonna get our passport in time. We need to do that, like, now. Yeah. Like, right away.

So we might have to push the trip Based on that. July. Yeah. I think that's I think we need to get that taken care of, and then let's figure out the the timeline. The logistics of it all.

Because I get it. I would hate to book the trip and then not be able to go because we're waiting on paperwork. Exactly. But this trip would be unbelievable. I listen.

I was trying to pay attention when you were talking about it, but you know how I am and people reading to me. I can't focus. And you went, What? I heard a lot of the first part, but then you just kept going. So I'm gonna need to read it for myself.

Alright. Well, I'll send you the link. Send me the stuff. I'll look through it. K.

Basically, it's a fishing trip essentially for you. Well, sort of. And then me. Yes. Snorkeling, taking a nap.

Hold on. So what I what I was trying to explain to you self. No. No. No.

What I was trying to explain to you is that while I'm out fishing, you get to just kinda hang, and and relax and and enjoy some time. And then, all of those activities that you're talking about, the snorkeling and the kayaking and those kinds of things, we can do together because those are part of the trip Okay. As well. Because you fish, multiple days, but you don't fish the entirety of the day. You you fish a good portion of the day, but then they've built in, like, okay.

And then on this day, you're gonna you know, the there's leisurely tours of mangrove mazes, and there's, you know, a bunch of pirate lore stuff. So that's the stuff I would do alone? The during the time while I was fishing, but then there's other things that are, like, activities that are built in to go at the same time. You know what I'm saying? Yeah.

Yeah. I thought the trip was so that we could hang out together. Well, we would be. At night. When I unless you wanna also go fishing.

I mean, maybe, but it's more expensive. Much more expensive if you're gonna buy the fishing part. Correct. But the fishing is is like If I'm just your plus one, then Insane. Much more attractive on the on the money front.

I understand that. But if you wanted to do the fishing part, we could figure it out. I don't know. It's still a fraction of the cost of Bora Bora. I know.

I know. It's fine. I'm gonna get to Bora Bora 1 of these days. Just you wait. Just you wait.

I can't wait. It's $16,000. I don't know how it's gonna happen. Just you wait. It's fine.

I mean, that's for both of us to go. It's only 8 if you wanna go by yourself. Okay. No biggie. Rude.

Why would you go to Bora Bora without Because I can't afford to eat you as a sidekick on a fishing trip and making you hang out by yourself. By myself. Wow. This mandrake maze is so beautiful. If only I had somebody to share it with.

No matter. I'll just continue the day by myself. Uh-huh. Sounds great. Stop it.

Yo. How come you never wanna eat anything that I offer you? Say it. Be honest. Say say it.

It looks like you're holding back trying to say something. No. Just say. I just don't. Why?

I it's not personal. Feels like it. You had, a food. What was it? It was a peaches and cream protein shake.

Oh, just this morning? Yes. Yeah. I mean, it's look. This happens often.

All the time. And I don't know why you get so personally attacked by it. Because I don't know why you don't just say, yeah. I'll try what you're having. Oh.

That looks nice. Don't feel like having it. But it feels like a personal attack. Like, you had you had a protein shake that was, peach flavored. What is it?

A peaches and cream. And you said it taste it tastes just like the peach oatmeal. Yeah. And you said you would love this. It tastes just like that peach instant oatmeal.

Which is your favorite oatmeal. Which I said, yeah. Okay. And you're wrong about that. Because banana is it?

No. Banana is gross. Maples and brown sugar? No. Yeah.

I No. Yes. No. Yes. No.

We gotta ask this question. What's your favorite enjoy oatmeal flavor. I do not enjoy the maple of anything. Somebody in the office said they like apples and cinnamon, which is not bad. It's not my favorite maple and brown sugar.

So so, anyway, listen. You you said you said it tastes like something I would like, and you said, would you like to try it? And I went, no. I'm okay. I know.

I That's I just don't want it. It's not personal. It feels personal. Why does it feel personal? You never you never take a bite of anything I have.

Like, if we're at a restaurant and and you'll go, oh, that that looks good. And I'll go, would you like a bite? And you'll go, sure. Yeah. Do you want a bite of mine?

No. I'm good. Yeah. I don't. Every time, though.

Every time. I don't understand why that's a like, that's just more for you. I know, but I want you to share the experience with me. But I'm enjoying what I got. I know that, but you could just have a bite of mine as a tasty.

But I don't I don't need to. It hurts my feeling. I see that, but I don't know why. Because it's just literally me saying, I don't really want a bite. I'll just keep eating what I'm eating or not eating what I'm not eating because I'm good.

I know. I don't understand why it hurts me so much. But every time you say no, I a little part of me dies. What? That is very serious.

That's a very serious thing you have going on. Know it is. I just want you to share with me. I I don't know that it's the sharing as much as you want confirmation that you've made a good choice in some sort of food decision you made. That might be true.

I think it's more about you having confirmation socially that you've done something than it is about me actually having any of it. Here, have a bite of this. Isn't it good too? Didn't I make a good choice? Didn't I choose good food?

I make good choices. I like food. Look at it. It's delicious. That's what it feels like you're actually saying.

Yeah. And then when you say no Right. That's an attack. Nope. I mean, you say, no.

I don't wanna try that because you made a terrible choice. Right. I don't think that's it. You you don't think that we got to the root of what's going on here? No.

I don't I don't think you know me. Okay. Okay. So Alright? I mean, you don't need my, approval or justification or I just want to share in the deliciousness with you.

I don't need your approval to know that I've made because you often order things that I think, ew. I clearly made the best choice. Which you say out loud pretty much every time we eat. You know, I made the best choice because my tacos are better than your burrito. Yeah.

I clearly, I made the best choice. Here. Have a bite. No. I'm good.

See? And then you go, I didn't make the right choice. I should have had the burrito. I should have had the burrito. I was just reading a story on East Idaho News.

This is kind of a cool story. The YMCA, the Idaho Falls family YMCA. Okay. You know what the YMCA is. I I do know what the YMCA is.

I know where it's located. I've been in there many times. Our kids have played sports in there. There's sports there? Yeah.

Yeah. So it's holding its fourth annual fundraising gala. Did you say gala or did you say gala? I don't know that it matters. Is there a difference?

I think I don't know. I don't know. I don't know if there's a difference. This gala will take place on April 5, at 06:30 at the Elks Lodge in Idaho Falls, and the purpose different programs, such as the learning center, which is for toddlers through sixth grade, and this provides a before and after school program. They also have sports programs, which include soccer that our kids have played Yep.

Flag football, volleyball, which our kids have played, basketball, which our kids have played. Yep. And they also have multiple summer programs. And Donovan Stokes, the guy who's kind of running the show Uh-huh. He says, this is designed the gala is designed to bring awareness to the community and hopefully motivate individuals to continue to invest in our programs so that we can have the funds necessary.

That's awesome. They're a nonprofit, so everything they do is either through fundraising or community partners and grants. And he said they never ever wanna turn a child away No kidding. Who wants to participate. So That's awesome.

I do believe the word is gala. And the only reason that I think it's gala, because that's the standard spelling and and pronunciation, refers to a formal or festive occasion, celebration, or event like the Met Gala Oh. Or a charity gala, which this is, or a gala dinner, right, pronounced with okay. Now this one is different too, because it says it that it's pronounced with a long a sound as in game in both syllables, which would be AA. Right?

AA. Which would be gay lei, which is not right. No. That's not it. So it it makes no sense.

But, anyway, it I don't know that it matters, but it's it's gala. Okay. So the luau themed gala will feature a dessert dash where people can bid on desserts and this ruffles, music, food. If you want more information about this, check out eastIdahonews.com. Awesome.

And when is it happening? April 5. Alright. So there's time to get a ticket get involved. Do a thing and get involved in whatever you gotta do.

Yeah. Cool. Support the YMCA. I like it. All the details are where?

EastIdahoNews.com. Have you heard of the fish doorbell? No. What is this? This is something that's in The Netherlands.

Okay. They brought it back. The officials brought back the fish doorbell. It was gone? It's something that they've been doing since 2021 to help fish migrate up a river.

They took it away for a while, but I don't know. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So there's a gate Yeah.

That they can't get past the fish because they migrate unless somebody opens the gate for them. Right. So I don't know why they took it away or when, but they did bring it back. They've set up a live stream to let people all over the world monitor the gate. And if you see fish That's right.

Supposed to let somebody know, so you ring the doorbell. Let's see. No. Like yeah. So here it is.

Did you spot a fish? Press the fish doorbell. There are 800 viewers watching. Are you did you pull it up? Yeah.

I am watching the live stream with 1,821 others. Yes. It is loading. Too. Are you watching it, or are you still waiting for it to load?

Loading. All I'd all I see is water. Yeah. There's no fish. Is that a fish?

Do you see that spot on the top right? Yeah. It's a blob. It's a blob. He's I don't know if that's a fish or not.

I don't either. There is Do you think people just get on here and spam the doorbell? Hope not. Like, I know. Me too.

There is I was reading some comments. There was a fourth grade classroom that was watching, and they get the kids get excited because they're like, fish. That's awesome. Maybe we watched maybe we pulled it up at a bad time. Well, I don't know.

What's it? Four in the afternoon there. So, you know, we'll just have to wait and see. That blob is awfully blobby. I know, but it's not getting any closer.

Yeah. It's just blobbing. Do they show up at a certain time of day or a certain time of if you wanna check this out, I'm trying to get you to the website. It's in Dutch. I know.

It's, Vistorbell. Vistorbell. Dot n l l. Yeah. Slash e n.

Or you could probably just type because it's in English, slash e n. But but viz vis door bell is what it is. Fish doorbell. Yeah. Viz doorbell.

You could probably just Google fish doorbell. Yeah. That's what I did. I was looking to see what kind of fish they have. Blob is they have eels.

A blob, but he does look kind of fish shaped. Yeah. I mean, there's perch and pike. I kinda just wanna keep watching the fish doorbell, but I've also been watching you've been turning on the Eagle Cam in Big Bear Valley. Yes.

You've been watching that. Yes. And they lost one of the babies, which was super sad. There were three, and now there are, now there are only two. You too, though.

Bear eagle cam. Let's see what's going on right now in the big bear. Oh, they're being fed right now. Are they? Yes.

Oh, we never get to see them. I know. They're eating right now. Big Big bear, bald eagle live nest, is is got, they're being they're eating right now. Mama is feeding the eagles right this moment.

What is she feeding them? A chunk of whatever she caught. It looks like a fish. There's a she got the fish to the left. They've gotten bigger since you turned them on the other day.

I know really quickly. They have feathers now. Yeah. They didn't have feathers, and they could barely hold their head up. And because this action's happening, like, they've zoomed in, like, this is this this is hot action on the big bareball eagle live in this game.

This is a big deal, everybody. We've we've not seen this. This is new stuff. Oh, yeah. She's, like, ripping off skin from Yeah.

Stretch those arms. Let's go. Okay. Well, there's no fish in the fish doorbell, but the eagles There are fish in the eagles nest. Where are you going, bud?

He wants more fish. Yeah. I guess so. Aw. He's doing big he's doing big standy up eagle stuff.

That's awesome. Brother's there. If you have not seen the big bear bald eagle live nest cam, right now is a phenomenal time to tune in. It's on YouTube, and, yeah, it's happening. It's happening right now.

They're eating. Yeah. Well, that one, mom said, I'll have that. Oh, she's working hard. I get it.

She deserves it. I know. But there's also there's a whole second fish over on the left. Dude, she went Yeah. Fishing today.

Buffet. She was like, my kids are growing. They're eating me out of house and home. Right. Right?

And then dad's gonna show up with more sticks, bonk everybody in the head. It's fantastic. This is lovely. Yeah. How fun.

That is fun. I'm gonna keep going back. I'm gonna toggle back to the fish store. Fish doorbell, which is where? At Vistrobel.

No. I know. Oh. Where is it located? In The Netherlands.

That's the Dot N L. That makes sense. And then the big bear bald eagle live nest cam is happening too. Oh, big yawn. Yeah.

That big eagle. Saw that. Aw. Yeah. Watch watch them live.

Or just listen to us talk about it like that. Happening. Here's what's happening. Mom's ripping more, fish and giving it to the Good radio. This is good radio.

She ate that piece too. Riveting stuff. Would you rather this or that? Would you rather First day of spring edition? Oh, I've I still got spring editions.

Yeah. First day of spring. First day of spring edition. It's well, it's the first day of spring. Edition.

Okay. Do you want me to do first day of spring? No. I'm just saying it is the first day of spring. Okay.

So spring edition. Okay. Would you rather make homemade lemonade from fresh lemons or bake a pie with freshly picked berries? I'm going with pie because I don't like lemonade, but I do like pie. I like lemonade, but I also I'm a pulp guy.

Like, a like a no pulp guy, I guess. I'm a no pulp guy. And so I I would have to strain it. It'd be a whole process. I have like, there's so much there's so much extra effort, but I'm also not that great at pie crusts, I don't think.

You've never tried. You would be good at pie crusts. Think I would? You think I could do a lattice pie? Absolutely.

I do. I might like to try pies. You are you are very attentive to detail. You're a very detail oriented person. Yeah.

And you like perfection, and you're good at cooking and baking. I might like to try a pie of making a pie. Try it. Or you just wanna eat a pie Yes. That you don't have to cook.

Yes. I mean, I like making pies. Pies are fun. I like making them, and I have a really good pie recipe. It's pioneer woman.

Pioneer pioneer woman. Uh-huh. What kind of pie? I don't know. What kind of pie do you like?

What kind of pie is in the recipe? Are you just saying you have a pie crust recipe? Just a pie crust recipe. I see. Yeah.

So a pioneer woman pie crust recipe Yeah. That I could use and then I could make a pie. I should make a pie. Do it. I'm here for it.

You just wanna eat pie? Yes. A la mode? Yeah. Yeah.

I could make a pie. I'll go with the pie. I'll go with the pie. Alright. The pie.

Two pies. Two pies. Would you rather this or that? How's it going filling out your bracket over there? You doing okay?

I gotta hurry. I got fifteen minutes. You got about ten minutes. You got ten minutes to fill out your bracket. We are, doing a little bracket thing here at the office.

It is madness, I tell you, which is, which is fun and exciting. And, it all gets underway today. The NCAA men's basketball bracket tournament, kicks off, officially with we've had the first four games already, over the past couple of days. Counted in any of this? No.

They are. So if you see down at the bottom, there's those four games. Yeah. Those those determine, several different, teams that get into the big bracket. And so it isn't that they aren't considered.

They are. They're part of the competition, and there's certainly an opportunity for them to advance further in the in the bracket contest. I think it just they kind of get disregarded Oh. A little bit. But that's why the deadline to get your bracket in is in ten minutes from now is because the now those games have been played.

Now you can make a decision if you want some of those teams to win or whatever. So, anyway I've already turned in a bracket. Yeah. So this is your second bracket? Yes.

Your first bracket was just your best guesses? Well, my first bracket was based on seeds. Okay. And now I'm just going based on name. Alright.

I like the name of that team. Cool. I like it. I like it. I think it's gonna be interesting to see.

We've got a a good handful of brackets that we'll be, scoring. That's my job pretty much for the day today and tomorrow. We'll be scoring brackets, which is fun. I enjoy do that for you. Okay.

Now you sound like the one guy in the building who was like, you know, you could put all this in there, and we didn't have to handwrite them. I feel like handwriting them is a little bit more fun. Is it? Yeah. Okay.

Don't you? Well, it's fine. It's fun. I'm having a good time. Okay.

Good. Yeah. But the scoring is not so much fun. I really enjoy it. You do?

I I do. Yeah. It's all good. Into a spreadsheet? No.

I don't. I do it all by hand. You do? Yeah. Louisville, Crichton is the first game kicking off in about twenty minutes from now.

Then Purdue and High Point will be, kicking off in just under, an hour from now. And then, I mean, they just roll. They you just they've moved so fast. Wisconsin, Montana, Houston, and s SIU, and then Auburn and Alabama. Like, it's just, Clemson and McNeese.

Like, it just goes. I know. My bracket's gonna be busted in this first That's what happens. Always happens. Yeah.

Yeah. Because you're gonna pick somebody, and then they're gonna be out in the first round. And then you go, well, so much for that. For that. I'm out.

I'm out. Anyway, it'll be fun. Hope hopefully, if you're, doing a little bracket fun today, it it goes well for you. As you said walking down the hall to someone, may the odds be ever in your favor I did. As you are running to get this bracket fun.

He didn't hear me, though. I know. You got eight minutes. Or he ignored me. We'll wrap up the show.
