Full show transcript:

You posted this photo of me I did. With, Easter grass for hair. I thought you might like it. Well, it was taken a year or two ago. Mhmm.

And, it still holds the test of time, doesn't it? It does. Look at you. Look at that Easter grass hairdo. You can see it on our Facebook page, classy ninety seven k l c e, getting a couple of comments.

One of our sales guys, Daniel, he gave me two thumbs up from a Borat. And then Teresa said, you look good in your Easter bonnet. You do. It's a nice craft. So I got that going for me.

Grass hair. Mhmm. Thank you for that. Hey. It's Friday, April 18.

Let's start with some English lessons. Okay. Bling bling. Like Bling bling. I think you ruined it.

No. You ruined it. You got the wrong notes. No. I didn't.

Bling bling bling bling. It's still on there. It's still pretty close. No. It's not.

It's close. Try the hot dog and peeps bun. Mhmm. Yum. What we know about jelly beans and other Easter candies?

I a little bit about them. They're delicious. Our daughter set a new personal record at her meet yesterday. Let's go. It's pretty good.

I got new fancy skin care routine. And then you read the directions and found out how you used it wrong. I think I still I used it just not the way the directions said. I don't think it's wrong, but I don't think there's a right or a wrong way. I would do it the way the instructions say, but, you know, right versus wrong.

Who's to judge? We tried a couple of new Peeps flavors. And they were both very good. They were. It was super windy last night, and I wasn't having any part of it.

I'm not going out there. It's not my job. I'm going to bed. The Easter games might still be happening. Might.

Depends on how I feel after work. Okay. What is cognitive shuffling? I No. That's the cognitive hustle.

Alright. We wanna hear your Easter traditions. Yeah. Chime in on our Facebook community page. The Idaho Falls Airport is now connecting to Chicago Or Chai Ville.

What did you call it? Chai City. Chai City. From one windy city to the next. That's it.

Good one. Good one. I'm so good at this. Yes. From one city of Wind to Windy City.

Good job. And we are all about Easter Monday. Yeah. Can we have that? Yes.

Can I has Easter Monday? That's what that cat said about the cheeseburger back in the day. I remember. I can has cheeseburger, he said. One way to call back to an old meme.

Is that a dead meme y thing? Yes. Oh, I dug it up and propped it up for everyone to see, and I said We get an American has meme? We are Josh and Chantel. This is wake up classy 97, the podcast, episode 215.

What? Yeah. Cannot believe they still let me do this every day. Yeah. They do.

They keep paying you for it too. Enjoy today's show. Hi there. Hey there. Ho there.

Hi there. Hey there. There. Mhmm. Just trying to go through the whole vowels.

A e I o u. You know? Hi. First. Yeah?

Yeah. But you didn't say it. I did. At the end He, hi, ho, who. Why?

No. Never. Sometimes y. Sometimes, why? I've never seen y as an as a vowel ever.

Oh, interesting. When is y a vowel? When y forms a diphthong. Oh, of course. Two vowel sounds joined in one syllable to form one speech sound, such as in toy and a in day and e in monkey.

That's when a that is when a y a y is a vowel is when it forms a diphthong. Okay. So if I happen to be on wheel of fortune and one of the words was toy Yes. And then I don't know. I can't remember how wheel of fortune works, actually.

I don't know what's the difference between When when you say, I I would like to buy a vowel. Correct. I don't know why they say that. It's because you have to buy vowels. Yeah.

But are consonants free? Consonant. Consonants? Consonants? Are they for free?

Think so. I think they're I think they're for free. And so do you have to buy a y? That's what I'm asking. If it's a diphthong, do you have to buy the y as the vowel?

But it's not a vowel when it's used, like, as the the y in my. Right. It's because that's not a diphthong. Stupid. What a dumb rule.

I invented that. Or maybe it is when it's in my. It is a vowel in my. It is a vowel in fly, cry, my sky, Jim, Barry, happy, and baby. It is not a vowel.

It is a consonant in u, yes, yoke, yum, yam, yell. You get it. I do get it. You get you get way to wake us up with some English Learning. Bing, bing, bing, bing.

The more you know. No. I know. And you've gotten better at the jingle. Thank you.

I've always been great at the jingle. You know it's true. Don't even. Donate. Don't even to to Come at me, bro.

Alright. It's Friday. Good morning. It's Josh and Chantel. Hi.

We're here. There's a hot dog place in Massachusetts. Okay. And the owner posted a photo. He took five yellow peeps, cut them in half, and put a hot dog in the middle Uh-uh.

And said, here's my Easter dog special. No. He puts mustard on the top of it. No. Initially, he said it was a joke.

But then a couple of people were pretty stoked about the idea. A lot of people are like, please put this on your menu. Yeah. It looks exactly what I thought it would look like. Yeah.

It's Peeps cut in half with a hot dog in the middle. Okay. But when you said Peeps cut in half, I was trying to sort that out. Oh, sorry. Cut cut the long way.

Up no. But not the long way. He opened up the package Yeah. And just took a row of them out Yes. And then sliced right through the tops of their heads Correct.

And then slapped a hot dog in there. The long way Yeah. That is not the long way. Cut it in half the short way, then you're gonna you're gonna have, like, two and a half peeps on this side and two and a half peeps on this side. You're gonna slice one peep in half.

When you I thought five individuals cut in half. There's a bunch of different ways to cut them in half. That's why I had to look at the picture of it to understand. I see. He took a row of five of them because there are 10 in a package.

He took one half of the package, laid it out on the board, and sliced through all five of their heads at the same time. Yes. Like a hot dog bun would be, I guess. I'm watching a guy eat this. Slapped I don't need to watch a guy eat it to know it's awful.

And then slapped a hot dog glizzy down in the middle of it, squirted some mustard on it, threw it on a colorful plate, and said, have at it. Happy Easter. Gross. Keeps wrapped hot dog meal. I hate both of those things.

So this is like a my worst meal enemy. Ugh. I yeah. I shouldn't have thought that. It worse.

Why? How? Sauerkraut. I like sauerkraut. Not with peeps.

Gross. But I do like sauerkraut. No. And sauerkraut fermented food is supposedly supposed to be very good for you. I know.

So I would rather take a gummy probiotic than eat sauerkraut. No. Thank you. I like sauerkraut. Have you had good sauerkraut?

There's no such thing? Yeah. There is. No. Yeah.

There is. It's just wet cabbage. I know. And it's delicious. No.

You're wrong, bud. I'm not. Would you you wouldn't eat this, hot dog? What's it called? What do you call it?

The peep hot dog. Dog special? Peep wrapped hot dog meal? No. Okay.

I'm just saying, in a moment of desperation, if that was the only thing you could eat, would you? No. If the only thing you had in your pantry, boiled hot dogs. Gross. Peeps.

I have other ways to cook hot dogs. I'm never gonna boil a hot dog. And it's not fresh peeps. It's like hard peeps that have been in the air too long. Something's wrong with you.

I didn't invent this. This guy in Massachusetts did. Would you put any toppings on it? I'm not gonna eat it. But if you had to.

No. I don't have to. I'm not boiling hot dogs. I don't have to eat it. I might try one bite.

One bite is all oh, I don't know. I just looked at it again. I don't think I could. No. Maybe I'll bring peep hot dogs to my Easter dinner.

Cool. Ugh. Gross. Hey, everyone. Yeah.

Roll up with a casserole dish full of peep dogs. Oh, what a waste of money. Boiled hot dogs on peeps with mustard and sauerkraut. You you're gross. Why sauerkraut?

It's because it it's one step worse. It doesn't have to be, though. You made it one step worse. Yeah. Yeah.

Yeah. Josh. That's so gross. I'm I'm sad you brought it to my team. Well, I kinda feel like if I brought it to Easter dinner, then that could be what I was known for.

Oh, I hope Chantel comes with the peep dog. You wanna be known as the one who brings peep dogs? Yes. Kinda. I kinda do.

There's a lot of things I wanna be known for. Peep dogs is not on the list. What do you wanna be known for then? We talked about that, like, earlier this week or last week. Did we?

Yep. I don't remember. Words that you want to be associated by. Yeah. Yeah.

Peep dog? Peep dog is not it. It's not on the list. I don't wanna be peep dog. That can be you.

Okay. Two Scoop Sally, peep dog. What else you got? That's it. Just those two things.

There's more, but we'll leave it there. Peep dog. Ugh. Gross. What's up dog?

Peep dog. Are you ready for some good news to get you going? Of course. Alright. This, I would probably say is the best good news to get you going story ever.

Woah. That's high praise. A lot of pressure. How did you know I was gonna say high praise? I didn't know you were gonna say high praise, and you didn't.

I was going to, and then you said it. And I was like, well, I'm not gonna say it now because he already said it. It's a Nicolas Cage line. It's high praise. Earlier this week, a two year old boy wandered off from his home.

This was in Arizona, in Saligman, Arizona. I'm probably saying the name of the town wrong, but that's alright. It obviously created panic in the community. Right? More than 40 search and rescue members, deputies, and rangers searched for sixteen hours.

Oh my. No luck. No trace of the boy. And everyone remained on high alert. Big break in the case came when a rancher who lived about seven miles away from the boy's home found his dog, Buford, sitting by the entrance to his property with the little boy right next to him.

Buford. Listen to this. After alerting the boy's family to their, that their son had been found, the rancher brought him inside, gave him some water and and food, and got him to calm down a bit, enough to explain what happened. He asked, did you walk all night? And the two year old boy said no.

The rancher told deputies, he said, I laid up under a tree. And I said, well, did my dog find you? And he said, yep. Aw. The rancher wasn't surprised that Buford found him.

He's an Anatolian Pyrenees, I guess, is how you say that. Pyrenees Pyrenees. So he's a guardian dog. He just kinda patrols within a half mile of the house all night and keeps coyotes away and stuff like that. I'm guessing he found the boy over in the horse pasture somewhere under the tree and brought him home.

That's what he does. And he loves kids, so I can imagine that he wouldn't leave him once he found him. Buford. Buford? Come on, dude.

Buford was rewarded with a steak dinner for a job well done. Well done. He should have been. Here's a steak. Buford's like, steak when I I think Where's your lost kid?

Will continue my patrol job. No kidding. Way to go, Buford. Saving the day. Good job, buddy.

Wild? Good boy, Buford. I know. That's gotta be the best good news story It's a pretty good one. To get you going ever.

Ever. I think. Yeah. It's a really good one. It is a good one.

Anyway, it's good news to get you going. We are very near to Easter, so let's talk a little bit about some peeps. We've got a couple of new flavors you found. We've got a try. Yes.

So we need to do that today. And they are? Rice crispy treats and churro. Okay. I'm curious about the rice crispy treats because, they're already just a marshmallow.

Right. So what's gonna make it taste like a rice crispy treat beyond the marshmallow? Butter. Butter. Great.

Great. Now churro, I think, sounds nice. That one's got probably a sugar cinnamony kind of thing. Sound sound nice. Sound nice.

They both sound nice. A couple of years ago, we tried, like, every day. There was, like, a like, the whole back cabinet back there was full of Peeps. There are sour watermelon. There was Doctor Pepper.

There are 25 interrupting you? Yeah. That's fine. There are 25 flavors of Peeps available this Easter. New ones?

No. Just total. There are 25 flavors available. Have we tried them all? Know I don't know.

Do you know what is the most popular color for Peeps? I'm gonna say yellow. You would be correct. I don't know why. Because chicks are yellow.

Oh, that's probably it. Because it looks like you're eating a baby chicken. Yeah. Is that it? We gotta make it as real as possible.

I don't know. That was just a guess. I don't know if that's true or not, Josh. Do you know what the most popular flavor of jelly bean is? Red.

Which is what flavor, not color? I don't know. They don't have flavor. They absolutely do. No.

Yeah? Fruit punch. No. Strawberry. No.

Close. Strawberry is second. Watermelon. No. I don't know.

Cherry. Yeah. Red. Cherry. Yeah.

It's just red. They don't have flavors. They only have colors. Grape is on the list. Lime is there.

Blueberry. They all have flavors. They very much have flavors. They all You've just known them all as colors, I guess. Who eats jelly beans?

Aren't they great? No. No. No. The black ones are so good.

Oh, you're so bad. Okay. When you do eat jelly beans, do you eat a handful of them, or do you eat them one at a time? I eat none of them. When you if you had to, if you were forced to eat jelly beans I would eat them one at a time.

You wouldn't just throw a handful of different flavors in it or, excuse me, colors in there? No. I would not. Speak your language? I would not.

You would not? No. And just see what happens? No. Now you know that, like, the Jelly Belly jelly beans, like, they do all kinds of crazy flavors.

Of those I like. I like butter popcorn Nope. And I like toasted marshmallow. That one is not bad. Favorite is they have a cappuccino one.

That's my favorite. Okay. Jelly Belly. Alright. I don't know the last time I had a Jelly Belly jelly bean.

Me neither, quite honestly. You know why? Because there's better snacks to be had. I'm not gonna say I saw you in a snack aisle last night, and I looked at every item, and I went, I don't want a single piece of this. Not one piece of this looks like something I want.

And you were like, are you serious? I could have the whole thing. I didn't say it like that. You make me sound like a maniac. No.

You weren't like maniac. I could have this whole aisle. You kinda were. I like snacks. Yeah?

I've no shame in my snack. I don't know. I looked at it, and I went, I can taste every one of these things in my brain right now, and not one of them was I like, I gotta have that. But you tasted the aisle and went, yes. Yes.

I like food. Even just smelling the chocolate in the air, I was like, I'm not into this. Oh, I was into it. I was into it enough for both of us. But yeah.

But then I get in trouble for saying you're like a snack maniac, and you're like, I could have eaten for two. What in the world, man? Well, it's not nice if you say it. Oh, okay. Chocolate bunny.

What part would you eat first? The ear. That is everybody says that. Everybody says ears first. What other what other piece are you gonna go for?

Feet. No. No one's gonna eat the feet first. Why? Feet first?

Yeah. No. Why ears first? I don't know. Just seems natural.

Alright. And then Cadbury mini eggs, you picked up some of those. I did because I ate some Yeah. So you picked up some. I could only find the mini ones, though.

Well, the mini eggs are only available during Easter now. I thought Cadbury eggs were only available during Easter. I don't know. You can't get those any other time. Not to my knowledge.

So these are you got the Cadbury mini caramel eggs. That's different than the Cadbury mini eggs. The package of the little pastel colored chocolate mini eggs that have the sugar shell, Those ones Yeah. Those ones are only available during the Easter season. So people are, like, stocking up on them because they wanna have them outside of Easter.

I don't care for those so much. Give me those Cadbury Creme Eggs or the Cad Cadbury Caramel Eggs. Yeah. I don't like the Cadbury Creme Eggs. I do.

That whatever that goo is, ugh. Delicious goo. Gross. It is molten sugar milk. You know what I found that I was really excited about?

Molten? My favorite Easter candy is those little gums that come in like a little plastic Easter candy. About that last year because you swallow them. Yeah. Yeah.

I'm 12 years old. Who cares? Your belly. That's who cares. It's not real gum.

It might be real gum. It is real gum, and you swallow it. Last little factoid here. How long do you think it takes to create a single peep? And I'll tell you in 1953, it took twenty seven hours to create a single peep.

Woah. Today, it takes a lot less time. I'm gonna say five minutes. Six minutes. Oh, so close.

Six minutes to make one peep. It used to take twenty seven hours That's insane. Make one peep. That's too much time spent on a terrible product. Well, we are gonna try some new ones.

Yeah. Yeah. So make sure you follow us on socials at classy ninety seven k l c e. You went to go watch our daughter do her track and field meet yesterday? Yes.

Why are you laughing? Track and field meet. Yeah. That's, I guess, what it was. Yeah.

I watched her, compete. Yeah. Yeah. She got a personal best? She did.

She reached a new personal best in a terrible weather Yeah. Meet day, and she did awesome. It was great to watch. And every time she accomplishes a little bit more, her excited face gets a little bit brighter and more excited. It's pretty fun.

You were there when she reached her her personal best and actually made it over the bar for the first time. She's Last week. Yeah. A freshman. This is, like, her first time competing in in pole vault, and she made it over big deal.

It is a big deal. And then, was very, very excited for just half a second. It was like, yes. And then was like, oh, yeah. I gotta get up and move.

And so, so that was great. And then yesterday, she, reached a new personal best, so she got over a higher bar, which is great. And then, and then went, what? And then, oh, yeah. I gotta focus.

It's so cool. It's great to watch. I was watching the video. You sent me a video of her. It was perfect.

And I go, yes. And then I said, perfect form. And she goes, nope. Not at all. Very wrong.

I said, how come? It looks good to me. And she goes, nope. It's terrible. This is your don't you don't know anything about Well form.

Learn learn about form. It looked good to me. Yeah. I'm her biggest cheerleader, but every time I am like, yes, she's like, no. Quiet down.

This is pretty good. I'm watching real quick to see when she made it over. Yeah. Oh, it yeah. It's so funny.

It's so funny. Something mad. Yeah. It's so good. Anyway, proud of that kid.

She's she's doing something no one else has ever that I've known done. I know. Which is pretty cool. So Making her own little pole vaulting path. Yeah.

Something that I'm like, no. I would never even attempt. Well, and it's cool because she's talking about, like, every time she gets a new PR, it it elevates her in districts. And if she gets high enough in districts and and does a PR there or or whatever, then she could move on to state, which would be really cool. That would be really cool.

It'd be really cool. Well, and there's only three girls on her team that are doing pole vaulting. That's right. And one of the girls who I love and is really, really good Uh-huh. Is she's about a year older than Emery, but she's become her little mentor.

Yeah. It's very cool. I just think so awesome. Yeah. Very good for teammates working together, figuring it out, and I love it.

Yeah. It just makes you feel good. Right? Feel good. It makes you feel good.

But it is cool. And she's like, I know if I keep practicing and I keep working and I get my PRs up, like, I'm gonna be I'm gonna be better, and then I'm gonna go next year, and I'll be better. And I'm like, yeah. That's how it works. So, anyway, very, very fun.

Very excited for her. And, way to go, kid. If you're a woman, I'm not. A lot of your social media is filled with hair care and skin care. And a lot of these people that are doing this have, like, different sprays and creams and things that you're supposed to do to make your skin look fresh and young looking and to make your hair feel smooth and buttery and healthy.

And I get a little bit, like, overwhelmed by it all sometimes. Of course, I want my skin and hair to look great, but I also, one, don't have a lot of the time it takes to do all of this product stuff. And two, sometimes that stuff is very, very expensive. Yeah. So I don't wanna spend the money it takes to buy all of these products all of the time.

K. We happen to be at a store last night, and I found some skin care that I had heard some people talking about. K. And I was like, oh, $6? Yes.

I'm gonna buy that to try it and see. It is vitamin c and hyaluronic acid. What is it? Oh, let me tell you. Keep saying that.

Like, I should know. I don't know what that is. This is what everybody is talking about on their algorithms. Yes. So I didn't know exactly what it does.

I bought it, and then I went, I don't know what I'm supposed to even do with this or what it even does. I'll tell you. Basically, it's got the vitamin C protects against radical damage. Radical. It boosts my collagen production and brightens my skin.

When you say radical damage, is that like if you skin your knee skateboarding? Radical. Radical damage. Free radicals. Free radical damage.

That means you borrow someone else's skateboard. You have to buy your own gear. And then the Free radical. Hyaluronic acid provides hydration and plumps my skin. I don't need any more plumping.

What? But Come on. Okay. Here's what I'm telling you. I used it today this morning for the first time.

You're supposed to apply it to a clean, dry face. And? What do you think? Can you tell a difference? Hold on.

Hold on. First of all, no. Second of all, what how do you apply it? Well because isn't it a dropper? Yeah.

It is a dropper. Just drop it on your face? Yeah. I kinda like, you do it I've this is how I did it. I don't know if this is right, but this is how I've seen people do it.

So you take the dropper and you kind of move it across your forehead, and you kind of put it on your cheeks. And you let that stuff just run down? No. No. No.

No. And then you, like, rub it into your face. Why is it on a dropper? That seems like a bad applicator. I don't There's gotta be another way.

This is how they're all. This is how they all come. Is how they're all. Okay. So you're supposed to oh, whoops.

I did it wrong. Whoops. And now you read the instructions. I just did it the way I see other people do it. K.

What were you supposed to do? Put it on my the nickel sized amount on my fingertips Yeah. And massage gently in an upward circular motion. Yeah. I mean, you got it there.

To a clean face and neck. I didn't And neck? I didn't put on my neck. Use daily. It's my first day.

So if you don't see a difference today, just use it. Long does it take to, to work? I don't know, Josh. Come back in a week. I'll give you an update in a week, and I'll be I'll say I've been using this daily.

So here's the biggest thing. Listen. I just I'm just doing a little bit of quick research. One of the one of the problems Problem. Is that it often gets misused Uh-oh.

Leading to dehydration of the skin instead of hydration. Oh, no. How do you misuse it? I I don't know the answer to that. I'm just saying that's what happens.

Most common misuse is is dehydrating your face rather than hydrating it. So be be aware Okay. That you could But how do the I don't know. How do I dehydrate it? Is this even a real thing, or did you just buy some sort of snake oil?

I probably just bought some snake oil. But guess what? It was only $6. Only? Better than, like, 32 that I've seen some people.

Okay. Some people this one lady's skin that I watch sometime is gorgeous. Mhmm. And she's like, here's my skin care routine, and it's, like, $32 for this product and 28 for this product. And I go, no.

I'm out. Just give me cheap stuff. I can't be spending that kind of money. Alright. Who do you think I am?

Alright. So they also do this as an injectable. Oh, I can't I'm not gonna do that. I'm just telling you. Like, people will do the injections with this stuff, and and they'll get more benefit from it than the topical because the topical isn't in the in the dermis.

You see? Yeah. I'm just gonna do this, and then we're gonna see how it works. Okay. Well, good luck.

Thank you. New fancy skin care. I feel like I shouldn't look at you for a few days and then look again after you've used it. Because if I see you every day, it's gonna be less noticeable. I'm gonna go, I don't I don't see a difference.

And other people that don't see you all the time are gonna say, woah. What did you do to your face? Are you trying to get out of looking at me? No. I'm saying that I shouldn't look at you just so that I could then see if it's working.

I'm not gonna be a good judge. I see what you're saying, Josh. You need somebody who doesn't see you all the time to see you now and then to see you in a week. I see what you're saying. Right.

To say, what'd you do to your face? Woah. What'd you do? Josh, we got some new peeps. What up, my peeps?

What up, peeps? Okay. These are I've got rice crispy Can you move your camera to more towards you. There you go. Thank you very much.

You're welcome very much. Alright. I've got rice crispy treat, peeps. I have the churro. Churro.

Cinnamon. Churro. Churro. Cheap. Cheeps.

Cheeps. These are new ones. We haven't tried these ones. We've tried birthday cake ones. Yeah.

Here we go. Here we go. Even open. I just like rustling the paper on it. I don't even like peeps.

Yeah. We've had this discussion. Have we? Yep. Like, a year ago.

Likes them. My dad Your dad does? He does a lot. Checks out. That checks out.

I don't know what that means. What's that mean? I don't know what it means. He likes peeps. Okay.

You gotta do a smell test first. Alright. Well Oh. These smell like rice crispy treats. And these smell like cinnamon churros.

These are actually pretty nice. Can't get them out. So let me tell you just real quick. Earlier in the show, we were talking about a guy who used these as a hot dog bun. So he just took this whole row, and then he you already ate one.

You can't even control yourself for two seconds while I talk about the hot dog store. Why can't I try it while you're talking? Alright. So, anyway, he cut the cut this this way and then set a hot dog in it. Like, it was anyway, it's gross.

Okay. Well, tell me what you got. This rice crispy treat one is good. Does it taste like a rice crispy treat? Yeah.

So kind of buttery? Yeah. Marshmallowy and buttery? Mhmm. Okay.

Alright. Back for two bites. I saw that. You don't even like Peeps as I do. Your own Peep, or do you want the rest of mine?

I'd like to have my own Peep. Thank you very much. Okay. Alright. Swappy.

Mhmm. The cinnamon churro one's pretty good. Are they good? Alright. When you eat I mean, this is a totally I'm gonna eat the whole thing.

It's a totally tolerable peep. That's what I think about my rice crispy treat one. You'll like that one. Uh-huh. Okay.

Churro. Yeah. This one's good. I prefer the rice crispy treat one though, but yet the churro one is tasty. Peeps.

What did they put on the outside of this? Because there's like a like a powdery, sugary, glittery kinda thing on the outside of it. On which one? On both of them. Obviously, that one is a cinnamon.

I think sugar. Yeah. This one is a what? I don't know. Either.

Are you gonna eat off the head? No. I did. These are good. Yeah.

I approve of both of these peeps. Well done, peeps. You're This one's real subtle. I like the churro one better, I think, because the flavor's a little bit more bold. This one is real kinda like meh.

I know. But that's why I like it. Because it's so many. Uh-huh. And it's already a marshmallow, so it isn't really much different.

Like, it's fine. Yeah. I think it's good. It's just a real light marshmallow flavor, which is fine. I'm gonna eat the whole I'm gonna say 10 out of 10 for both of those.

I would buy those again. I would. Yeah? Yeah. Watch me.

You know which ones I won't buy again? Which ones? The sour Sour watermelon. Sour watermelon were awful. Oh, no good.

No good. And we tried everyone. We tried Doctor Pepper. We tried, I mean, so many different flavors. Fruit punch, birthday cake.

There were so many weird flavors. But, anyway, I like both of those. I do too. Churro. I prefer the churro.

Churro's higher And rice crispy. I can't remember where we found I found the rice crispy treats at a couple different locations. Mhmm. But I can't remember where we found the churro ones. I wasn't with you.

Oh, I know. I think I found those at Fred Meyer. Oh, okay. Anyway, there you go. They're delicious.

Happy Easter. Try some new Peeps. The Peeps? They've come all they've come aways. From just pink, blue, and yellow?

Yeah. They're up in their game a bit. I will say that the, the sugary coating thing feels a bit lighter than it has in the past. I remember it being I remember it being bigger crystallization of sugar. So I'm pretty good with the with the way that, texture went down.

That's nice. Anyway, good for you. Peeps, you made a couple of good ones. Bravo. Yeah.

10 out of 10. 10 out of 10, really? Yeah. Really. I'd go 10 out of 10 on churro.

I'd go, like, eight out of 10 on the, rice crispy one. I would flop with you. I like this. The one you tried first. I see what you're saying.

And you were so eager just to try it. Middle of my hot dog story. It's breakfast. I I guess. I need sustenance.

Good healthy breakfast. Yeah. Way to go. Alright. I don't know what the wind thought it was trying to do last night, but holy smokes.

Did you, did you go outside? No. Because you were gonna go get the dog, and then you said, no. I'm not gonna do that. Oh, you heard that?

Yeah. I did. Something to the effect of, I'm not going out there. Like, you open the garage door and then decided that you were gonna go let the dog in and then didn't even get to the outside door and turned around and went, no. That's not my job.

And then you went to bed. Yeah. I did. Yeah. I did that.

You were downstairs. Right. No. I heard that. I I didn't think that you could hear that I had walked out in the garage together and then changed my mind.

Yeah. And then said out loud, no. That's not my job. I'm not doing that. No.

I don't think I said that's not my job, but I did say, I'm not doing that. I'm not good. Because she's on a lead Yeah. Because she's a flight risk. I know.

And when she's done, she'll usually come back inside, and her lead is long long enough that if you leave the door open, she can make it in the garage. Yeah. But the fact that she wasn't waiting by the door or in the garage meant that she had wrapped her lead around the trampoline Correct. Which is clear across the yard. Right.

And guess who wasn't going out in the wind to do that? I'm not doing that. And shut the door and inside you went. Yeah. Now listen.

It was cold. The, the temperature was low last night. The wind, contributed to a a bit of a wind chill factor. And but it what was strange to me is we don't often get wind out of the north. And anytime the wind comes from the north, it's colder wind, because it I don't know why.

I don't know why. Way it works. But you always hear that. Oh, it's a north wind. It is.

And it's it's not something that often happens, and it's still going on right now, this north wind. And it's keeping, especially out toward the Arco Desert right now. It's it's still got a pretty good, steady wind out in the desert. And it's coming from the north, which is which is super strange. Or not strange.

It just doesn't happen all that often. But I'm looking at, like, I'm camping tonight, and the wind's supposed to die down, which is great. And it's also, by the time we get to tomorrow, pretty much nonexistent. And then shifting directions, the wind will be moving back the normal way the normal way we get wind. Uh-huh.

So we'll have warmer winds, bringing with it some more heat. But wind? What? To be sure? But wind I mean, light wind.

Wind too sure. Yeah. Light wind. Not not crazy at all. Not like it was last night.

And and it was weird because I was sitting at the dining room table, and my back was to the, to the wind. And it was pressing up against the house in a weird way that doesn't normally get wind. And so I was hearing noises I don't normally hear, and I'm like, what is going on? And the wind chimes going crazy. Yeah.

The wind chimes go nuts. There's it was it was wild. And then I got woken up in the middle of the night, to the wind just pounding. I'm like, what is going on out there? Grateful I had a home.

Thanks for bringing the dog in. Yeah. You're welcome. Because I'm not doing that. It's not my job.

I didn't say that. I did say I'm not doing that. That is what you say. I did say that. I'll I'll admit to that one.

Yeah. You did. Chantel Good Intentions. That's my name. Oh, no.

What x, expectation did you set for yourself that you feel like you've let yourself down and therefore other people down? I was gonna do a big Easter games competition. Talking about it earlier this week. And last week, you said you were bringing them back. Look at I've got look at my Easter games.

Okay. I wrote them all down. So you've got good good legwork in there? Listed the supplies needed. I listed the rules for the specific games.

K. What I need is to prepare all of the stuff. And I have a limited amount of time to prepare the stuff. I had some time last night and some time a little bit of time this afternoon. So there is still potential to do it, but I really had wanted to do it last night.

And by the time he had gone to the grocery store to get some supplies Sure. And do with some stuff, it was cold, and I was tired, and it was late. And I said, I'm not doing Easter games. It's over. It's done.

I feel rejuvenated again this morning. So it might still happen. Yeah. I might if I get enough of a wind later this afternoon to get all my supplies put together, I might still pull it together. It might still be possible, Josh.

Fingers crossed for you. I think you're not excited about Easter games. It's fine. But I'm not trying to be, I'm not trying to be a stick in the sand or whatever they call it. Stick in the mud.

Stick in the mud? Stick in the sand. Yeah. That's the wrong one. Nice idiom.

Yeah. You're an idiot. Idiom. Yeah. Stick in the mud, which I don't know why that's a thing.

Because that's just mud pies, isn't it? Yeah. Sure is. Yeah. It's candles on your mud birthday cake.

So anti Easter games. I'm not. You kinda It's just a lot of fun to poke at you. These are fun. These are fun games.

Yeah. I was reading through them again again going, yeah. We can absolutely do this. I need what I really need is to get my plastic Easter eggs from storage. That's the that's the most difficult part.

Well, get that ladder out. I know. It is just find a way to make it the the ladder's not heavy. No. I don't say the ladder is heavy.

I'm saying the bucket with all this stuff is heavy. The Easter bin Yeah. In the attic is heavy? Yeah. And I don't know if there's room for the latter because there's so much That's what I'm saying.

There's so much stuff on the floor. Is it good luck finding a way to stand that up safely? I went to I got snow shoes. I got extension cords. I got there's so much stuff.

I gotta just put stuff away. I went to feed the dog this morning, and I noticed that there was a bunch of corn kernels spilled all over the floor. Yeah. Who did that? That would be our daughter.

I think it was actually me. Or you. One or the other. And that happened in the fall. And then when it did happen, I remember it was you.

It was Because it went clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink clink a bunch of corn kernels, and then you said, oh, I'll clean that up later. And I went, no. I'll clean that up later when I'm cleaning the garage. And you were like, yeah. Probably.

But I'm not gonna worry about it now. It was just a bag of birdseed, and I dropped it. And I said, oh, I'll clean that up in the spring because it's too cold to clean it up right now. Yeah. I will.

I'll clean it up. I always said, do. You make me sound like that's very difficult to live with. No. I didn't.

I didn't say that at all. You have put those words into the air all on your own. I might be difficult, but guess what? I'm also a lot of fun. Also didn't say you were difficult or fun or not fun or the most fun.

Just I just exist. You should say I am the most fun. That's what you absolutely should say. How am I in trouble for this? I said nothing.

I said absolutely nothing, and now here I am. In trouble. I guess. Because you don't wanna play my Easter games. Okay.

The whole point of this is that, like, last night, I was like, no. Call it off. Easter games are over. But now you're done. Now you're feeling it.

I'm like, no. I still think I can put this together. Alright. I still think I can whip it up. Alright.

Well, good luck. Thank you. I haven't told anybody about it just in case. You haven't told anyone. No.

Because one knows that you might be doing Easter games. Correct. Because if I told them Not one other person, but you and me in this room. No one else knows. Nobody in my family.

They don't listen. Yeah. They do. Not always. Okay.

The point is nobody will be disappointed if I don't bring it. They don't know what's on this list. I'll call ahead. Okay. Go ahead.

If she doesn't do this, really lay it on that she should've. That's what I'll say. Make her feel guilty? Mhmm. Yep.

Well, good luck putting it all together. I have, I have strong hopes for you. Thank you. I think I can do it. I think you can.

Yeah. Good support system here. You got it. Thank you, Josh. Woot.

Have you heard of cognitive shuffling? Alright. Let's think about this. No. I haven't on, you know, to answer the question.

No. Cognitive shuffling. This feels like, where you have, some sort of thing you need to get done, but then your brain says, nah. You could do this other thing instead. No.

That's shuffle things around in your brain. Cognitive shuffle. No. No. Alright.

Is it a cool dance move? Nope. Do the cognitive shuffle. Yeah. You know?

Well, no. That's the that's the hustle. This is the cognitive shuffle. It sounds different. This is a technique to help you fall asleep.

Neither you or I need this. Okay. But If somebody does, you and I could fall asleep like nobody's business, which is heaven, and I will not ever take that for granted because I know people who do have insomnia, and that's a terrible way to live. So this cognitive shuffling, you focus on random unrelated words to distract your mind from worrying or racing thoughts while you're trying to fall asleep. Gotcha.

So for example Do the shuffle. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You You start with a random word like Pluto Alright.

And then you generate related words. And so, for example, you can think of, things that are spacey, or you could start with things that start with dog. That. Oh, you could go with that too. Or you can start with things like other words that start with p, like plain or poodle or peaches.

And then you've changed it up to a different letter, and so then you'll go with l, and then you'll say love, light, lemur, language. So this is supposed to distract your brain so that you can rest and fall asleep. You're also supposed to briefly visualize each word as you think about it. And you keep shuffling through the letters and words until your brain says, enough of this. I'm going to bed.

I don't know if it works. Studies say that it does. Well, studies. I well, studies. Yeah.

I don't have a problem falling asleep, but I do have a problem with my mind racing sometimes. Alright. Well, try the cognitive shuffle. That's still the hustle. Know.

It needs its own theme song. Yeah. Cognitive shuffle. All I can think of is the hustle. It's still the hustle.

Now here's the thing. If somebody's gonna try this tonight, all they're gonna think about is the hustle. Yeah. So they're just gonna be talking about shuffle until they fall asleep or they they're like, brain, quit with the hustle. All day, people are walking around.

Yeah. All day. You've ruined people's Friday. Now they're gonna be hustling all day. Or made better.

Alright. I guess it depends on where you sit on the thing. If we see people walking around and they're like their arms. What's this? Oh, doing the cognitive hustle, are you?

What's this dance move called? I can't even see what your hands are doing. Rolling my fingers. That's part of patty cake. No.

That's not it. It's like a hustle move. Alright. It's a hustle move. You're kinda doing discos is what you want.

What the hustle is. It's like a disco. But you're doing discos with your fingers. Yeah. And then you were like Right before you do the disco finger.

Disco fingers. No. You just I've never seen Patty cake is this. What are you talking about? Roll it and roll it.

No. You roll it and roll it. That's what you're doing. Okay. A little bit of rolling it and rolling it.

That's what you were doing. And then you get your finger up to a disco form. Uh-huh. Do do do Cognitive? Cog shuffle.

Cog shuffle. Oh. No. Cog shuffle. No.

No. You gotta quit. I asked on the Facebook community, what is your favorite Easter tradition? What are some of your favorite Easter traditions? I was trying to think of some of ours.

There was a time that we were doing Easter brunch for a while Sure. With with my family. Yeah. Yeah. That was that was a thing for a long time.

We would do, you know, a gathering, and I think it was originally it was held at my grandma's house, and then that turned into similar to, like, the the Christmas dinner one. Uh-huh. It was the same kind of thing. And then I think that turned into going to a restaurant for Easter brunch. Boy, maybe we did it at our house five times, five years maybe, and then we started doing the restaurant thing, for a long time.

And then, like, we used to go to, a restaurant right by the river, for a lot of years, and then that changed to the Mexican breakfast buffet. Mhmm. And then I don't know when that stopped. I don't even I think I only did that maybe once or twice with you Mhmm. When we got married.

But I don't remember going Yeah. Much after that. But that the restaurant thing was pretty much all through high school. And then when I moved away, for a couple of years, I didn't do anything like that. And then moved back, and it was like, yeah.

It was a couple, and that was it. I'm trying That really didn't stick. I'm trying to think of things that we've had with our family, like, with our kids. Easter dying, Easter egg dying was always a thing. We always did an Easter egg hunt with them.

Uh-huh. It seemed like we always took pictures, like family photos, but then it was always so cold. So what was the point? Because it was too cold. I don't really have a lot of we don't really have a lot of Easter traditions.

Yeah. What is what's the, what's the thing with shoes? Do you know about that? Like, why do people do Easter shoes? No.

I don't know about this. Yeah. There's like a there's a tradition around Easter shoes. We used to do some kite fly. Did kites.

Yeah. That was a fun one. When did that stop? I don't know. I don't either.

When we went to that park in, in Shelley, it was really cold. It was That's probably the last time. It is, yeah. And a lot of Christian traditions, wearing new shoes for Easter, especially white or black patent leather Oh. Is a way to celebrate the holiday and mark the start of the new season.

It coincides with perch purchasing new Easter outfits as part of a broader celebration of of Easter. So, yeah, it's, there's a new shoe thing. There's also, like I like new shoes. Getting dressed up on Easter is always a good time, and then there's always, you know, an Easter service. And depending on what your, what your religious preference is, there's tons of tradition within that, of course.

But, yeah, shoes was a big thing. I could use some new shoes. New Easter shoes? Yeah. I wouldn't mind.

I just bought some new shoes not that long. I got a lot of shoes. I do too. They're all I just like new shoes. I do too.

Don't shoes? I just got a new backpack yesterday, so I got a new backpack, new Easter backpack. Easter to you. Yeah. New Easter backpack.

You got a birthday coming up, like, real wicked soon? Yeah. And? Yeah. I'm just saying.

New shoes coming your way. I have to wait? I don't get new Easter shoes? I have to wait for new birthday shoes? Sure.

If you want new Easter shoes, go get Easter shoes. I don't know. If you've got any fun family Easter traditions, send them our way because maybe we'll start some new Easter traditions. Maybe maybe you've got, like, something we're gonna unlock here that'd be, like, just perfect. Where'd you post that?

On the Facebook community. Awesome. The classy ninety seven community on Facebook. Chime in there. That post is there.

Share your, Easter traditions. Maybe you do the new shoes thing. I don't know. Tell us. Are you excited about a new shoe thing?

Yeah. Kinda. I think you're kind of excited about it. Kindness. What kind of shoes do you want?

Oh, I just like sneakers mostly. I know you do, but is that what you want? I don't know. I don't know. It's kinda season.

Okay. Really? You wanna get some of those, Crocs? No. No.

No. I don't. The fleece lined ones? No. Keep you there like a slipper, but also an outdoor shoe?

No. I do. And also a puddle, jumping shoe? I like jumping in puddles. Alright.

Cool. Just saw some big news coming out of the Idaho Falls Airport. This is on eastidahonews.com. Beginning August 6, the Idaho Falls Regional Airport will begin offering seasonal nonstop flights to Chicago Low Air. Yeah.

Shy city. Yeah. So here's why that's a big deal. First of all, they've been working on this since, well, before December of twenty twenty three. They've been trying to get this flight secured.

It is an American flight, nonstop, Idaho Falls to Chicago beginning August 6. And they will run August 6, November first. They will have one flight a day. It will depart at 12:30 in the afternoon, and, it will get you to Chicago O'Hare, which is a huge step for people connecting eastbound. So if you are headed to New York or if you are headed to, you know, somewhere further east Okay.

You can connect from Chicago That's cool. Easily direct from Idaho Falls. That's great. Yeah. That's the big deal there.

Do we wanna go to Chicago for any reason? Maybe. Why not? I called it Chai City. It's actually Chai Town?

Chai Town. Yeah. Good one, Chai town. Good way to go. We've been in Chicago.

We stopped in Chicago on the way Briefly. Back? To To Toronto. Remember. It was two.

Not to Toronto. I'm talking about on our flight to New York. Oh, yes. We did stop. I can't remember if it was on the way there.

If you don't leave the airport. We were just in the airport. We didn't even go to Chicago when we were on our way to Toronto in the van. We drove down the freeway and went, that skyline over there is Chicago. Keep going to Michigan.

That's that's how that went. But that's kinda cool. Mayor Casper was there at the unveiling. She said that as we keep beating records year after year, we're gonna see this airport have some growth pains. They do have a $45,000,000 expansion project that was announced in 2023 that will get underway this June, and that will address numerous issues with infrastructure and utilities to accommodate growth.

They plan on working on, everything from mechanical, electrical, communication, and plumbing systems to, outbound baggage systems, ticketing, a central lobby, and other spaces that are essential to airport functions, and that's gonna be growing over the next decade, I expect. So, the little tiny little airport, the Idaho Falls Regional Airport, getting a little bit bigger every time we, turn around. By us? Yeah. Kinda cool.

IDA, we call it. Oh, do we? Yeah. That's what it that's if you're gonna search for flights, it's IDA. Oh.

That's where you're, you're gonna depart from. Okay. Yeah. Anyway cool. Yeah.

Kinda cool. And, if you wanna read the rest of that story or learn more about it, it's at eastidahonews.com. Let's take a trip. Let's do take a trip. Uh-huh.

It's would you rather this or that. Would you rather have to wear a fully a full bunny costume, not a fully, a full bunny costume every day for a week or eat only egg salad sandwiches for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a week? How long each day do I have to wear the costume? All day. From the time I wake up to the time I go to bed?

Yes. Bunny. Yes. And it's this type of weather. This all this week weather.

So it was, what, 72. It was cold yesterday. So some days might be chilly. Some days might be hot. But, also, you're gonna get ransacked by little kids anytime you go out anywhere.

You're either gonna get excitement from little kids or crying from terror and weird looks from everyone. But they won't know who I am. I've I have anonymity, so that's fine. I kind of enjoy that. I'm going egg salad sandwiches.

I'm not hanging out with you. Egg salad sandwiches are delicious. It's not it's not why. Three meals a day for a week? Yeah.

I'm not hanging out with you. It's rude. And I'm certainly it's certainly what? Not gonna wear the bunny suit after you. Okay.

I'm not wearing the bunny suit at all. What are you picking? I'm picking the bunny suit because I wanna have friends. So I'll have friends. Sure.

For a minute, Pumbaa. Would you rather this or that? I'm taking the bunny suit. I heard. That's it.

I'm walking around, and I'm pointing at you often. How would you like to have Monday off? Yes. Too bad. So for now, anyway.

There's a couple of lawmakers. There's a senator from Missouri and a congressman from Virginia. That have introduced a bill to make Easter Monday a federal holiday. Yes. Let's do this.

What they did was they looked at the calendar, and they said Easter is a floating holiday. It can fall from March 22 to April 25. The only two month gap in the federal holiday calendar is April to May. Oh. So it it potentially could fill that gap.

Fill it. Yeah. Creating a three day weekend when workers and families need it most is what one of them said. A handful of countries around the world, including Canada and Australia, have Easter Monday as a national holiday, so why not us? Yeah.

No kidding. Why not us? Need a three day weekend forever and always. Right. Four day work week, three day weekend.

Come on. Senate bill fourteen twenty six. It has been submitted to the senate judiciary, jud judiciary judiciary. There we go. There you go.

Committee. And, so we'll see what happens from here. But Easter Monday as a federal holiday could be a thing. Crossing my fingers, but I'm not holding my breath. K.

Man oh, man. It doesn't do anything this No. Monday. It does nothing for this weekend. So it would we'd still have to wait.

Right. But next year, you could have the Monday after Easter off. I just like having time off. I know that about it. For it.

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I know that. The best part.

Yeah. So let me look ahead really quick because I'm curious when is Easter next year. I don't know. It's April 5. Okay.

So it will be a good couple of weeks earlier next year than it is this year. And Easter Monday is already on the calendar. Isn't that interesting? It's on the calendar for this year as well. Well but it's not It is the observance, but it is not a national holiday.

Yeah. It's not on the calendar as a federal holiday. That's right. That's what I'm saying. On the calendar as like a An absurd recognize this.

Today is the day we recognize this. Well, you still have to put in your eight hours. Right. But we recognize you. Exactly.

You get it. I do. Yeah. I do get it. Anyway, we'll see what happens with that, but now you know about it.

Let's see. That's gonna do it. It's time for the weekend. Let's go. Weekend.

For the weekend. Weekend. It's time for the weekend. Weekend. Weekend.

I don't know. We did a dance. We did a thing. What was your dance? Oh, it's like this.

Okay. You you had twirly hands? I had rabbit ears. You did have rabbit ears. It was Easter weekend weekend.

Good job. That's what I went with. Happy camping, Josh. Oh, yeah. I am camping tonight.

So, hopefully, it'll be nice and warm. It will be for me, I'm sure, which should be fine. I will sleep toasty. How will you be sleeping? Toasty.

Good for you. Because I'll be inside the house. Well, alright. I will be, inside a tent. Good luck to you.

It'll be fine. It'll be comfortable. And then, yeah, happy Easter, and we'll see you back here on Easter Monday as they officially call it. We don't know. We don't know.

Not a holiday. We'll be here. We're just gonna recognize it. That's right. We'll be recognizing Easter Monday on Monday, bright and early.
