Full show transcript:

00:00:00 [Speaker 1]
Okay.
00:00:01 [Speaker 1]
Listen to this story.
00:00:02 [Speaker 1]
There's a family in San Francisco who had to say goodbye to their dog.
00:00:07 [Speaker 1]
Aw.
00:00:07 [Speaker 1]
This was a rat terrier mix named Rufus who died in April.

00:00:11 [Speaker 1]
Aw.
00:00:12 [Speaker 1]
I know.
00:00:12 [Speaker 1]
That's really sad.

00:00:13 [Speaker 2]
Rest in peace, Rufus.

00:00:14 [Speaker 1]
I know.
00:00:15 [Speaker 1]
They ended up going to another rescue place called Muttville to look for another dog.

00:00:19 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
00:00:19 [Speaker 2]
Hold on.
00:00:20 [Speaker 2]
Let's pause for a minute and talk about the fact that that is the best name for an animal rescue place ever.

00:00:26 [Speaker 3]
Welcome on down to Muttville.
00:00:30 [Speaker 3]
Find yourself a companion at Muttville.

00:00:34 [Speaker 2]
I like Muttville.

00:00:36 [Speaker 1]
They found a puppy there named Ziggy that looked a lot like Rufus.

00:00:41 [Speaker 2]
Oh, no.

00:00:41 [Speaker 1]
And they were like, okay.
00:00:43 [Speaker 1]
We gotta get this dog.
00:00:44 [Speaker 1]
It looks like Rufus who we just lost.

00:00:46 [Speaker 2]
K.

00:00:47 [Speaker 1]
So they adopted him and they were like, he looks so much like Rufus.
00:00:51 [Speaker 1]
There's gotta be some same DNAs.
00:00:54 [Speaker 1]
So they took a DNA test.
00:00:56 [Speaker 1]
They gave Rufus a d yeah, Rufus.
00:00:59 [Speaker 1]
No.

00:00:59 [Speaker 1]
Ziggy is the new dog.

00:01:01 [Speaker 4]
Yeah.

00:01:01 [Speaker 1]
So they did a DNA test and discovered that he is Rufus' son.

00:01:06 [Speaker 2]
No way.

00:01:07 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:01:07 [Speaker 1]
Way.

00:01:08 [Speaker 2]
That's amazing.

00:01:09 [Speaker 1]
They got Rufus about ten years ago, and Ziggy is a senior dog.
00:01:14 [Speaker 1]
I thought it was a puppy.
00:01:16 [Speaker 1]
Disregard that I said he was a puppy.
00:01:18 [Speaker 1]
Ziggy is a senior dog now, so Rufus must have fathered him back when he was a stray dog before they adopted him.
00:01:24 [Speaker 1]
Oh, way.

00:01:26 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:01:27 [Speaker 1]
Isn't that cool?

00:01:29 [Speaker 2]
That's very cool.

00:01:30 [Speaker 1]
I love that story.

00:01:31 [Speaker 2]
That's really, really awesome.
00:01:34 [Speaker 2]
Rufus leaving a legacy around town, by the way.
00:01:39 [Speaker 2]
Enough so that, Ziggy Right?

00:01:43 [Speaker 1]
Ziggy.

00:01:43 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

00:01:44 [Speaker 1]
Ziggy is

00:01:44 [Speaker 2]
a good name.
00:01:45 [Speaker 2]
Ziggy is, a descendant of Rufus, and now they're, oh, now now they have it.

00:01:50 [Speaker 1]
Now they're adopted by the same family.

00:01:52 [Speaker 2]
That's awesome.

00:01:53 [Speaker 1]
From Motteville.
00:01:54 [Speaker 1]
Come on down to Motteville.

00:01:55 [Speaker 3]
Get yourself a mutt.

00:01:57 [Speaker 2]
It's we've written your jingle, Muttville.
00:01:59 [Speaker 2]
You owe us $4,000,000.

00:02:01 [Speaker 1]
Listen.
00:02:02 [Speaker 1]
I'll take just one.
00:02:03 [Speaker 1]
I'll just take 1,000,000.
00:02:04 [Speaker 1]
Let's not get greedy.

00:02:06 [Speaker 2]
I would take a 100,000.
00:02:07 [Speaker 2]
Sure.

00:02:07 [Speaker 1]
I would too.

00:02:08 [Speaker 2]
Bring it

00:02:08 [Speaker 3]
on down to Muttville.

00:02:10 [Speaker 1]
Come on down to Muttville.

00:02:12 [Speaker 3]
Get yourself a mutt.

00:02:13 [Speaker 2]
It's it's a really good jingle.

00:02:17 [Speaker 1]
We can workshop it a little bit.

00:02:19 [Speaker 2]
I mean, we'll work on where is where is Mottville located?

00:02:22 [Speaker 1]
In San Francisco.

00:02:23 [Speaker 2]
Mottville, San Fran.
00:02:25 [Speaker 2]
Get yourself a mutt.
00:02:27 [Speaker 2]
See?
00:02:27 [Speaker 2]
Now we've got the location in the jingle.
00:02:29 [Speaker 2]
So now you know without thinking real hard, where is Mudville?

00:02:33 [Speaker 2]
Oh, San Francisco.
00:02:36 [Speaker 2]
Right?
00:02:37 [Speaker 2]
Golden retrievers near the Golden Gate.

00:02:39 [Speaker 1]
Do do do do do do do.

00:02:41 [Speaker 2]
See, now I've worked in a landmark.

00:02:42 [Speaker 1]
Oh.
00:02:43 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:02:46 [Speaker 2]
You wanna start the show?
00:02:47 [Speaker 2]
Yes.

00:02:47 [Speaker 1]
Oh, yeah.
00:02:48 [Speaker 1]
Alright.
00:02:48 [Speaker 1]
Alright.

00:02:52 [Speaker 2]
Hey, Chantel.

00:02:53 [Speaker 1]
Oh, hey, Josh.

00:02:54 [Speaker 2]
Oh, hey, Chantel.

00:02:56 [Speaker 1]
Oh, hey.
00:02:56 [Speaker 1]
What's up?

00:02:57 [Speaker 2]
What's going

00:02:57 [Speaker 1]
on?
00:02:58 [Speaker 1]
Oh, it's Friday.

00:02:59 [Speaker 2]
Well, that's true.
00:03:00 [Speaker 2]
That is a true statement.
00:03:03 [Speaker 2]
What else is going on?
00:03:04 [Speaker 2]
What do we know about today?

00:03:07 [Speaker 1]
We got a couple of guests in the studio.

00:03:10 [Speaker 2]
That's right.
00:03:11 [Speaker 2]
That's a big deal.
00:03:12 [Speaker 2]
We've got, we're gonna have Charles in here.
00:03:14 [Speaker 2]
Charles is from the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission and The Haven.
00:03:18 [Speaker 2]
We'll be talking with him around 09:00, and, he is coming in because we're gonna be at the farmer's market coming up on, Saturday tomorrow.

00:03:27 [Speaker 2]
Not you and I, but our group of radio, stations will be there.
00:03:30 [Speaker 2]
And we are collecting supplies for the Haven, family shelter and for, the programs that the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission does.
00:03:40 [Speaker 2]
And so we're looking for some awesome items to help out with these programs and and help some folks in our community.
00:03:45 [Speaker 2]
And if you wanna see that full list, just tap the Farmers Market link in the Classy 97 app, and you can see all that.
00:03:52 [Speaker 2]
And then join us Saturday.

00:03:53 [Speaker 2]
We're gonna be there tomorrow, nine to two, so you can stop by the Riverbend Media Group booth, and, and you can drop stuff off.
00:04:00 [Speaker 2]
Who's our other guest?

00:04:02 [Speaker 1]
Our other guest is, a gentleman named Carter.

00:04:05 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
00:04:06 [Speaker 2]
Carter is nine years old.
00:04:08 [Speaker 2]
Yes.
00:04:08 [Speaker 2]
Carter is a friend of the show.
00:04:10 [Speaker 2]
Yes.

00:04:11 [Speaker 2]
He's a frequent listener.

00:04:12 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

00:04:13 [Speaker 2]
And, he is gonna come into the studio and hang out with us for a little bit this morning.
00:04:17 [Speaker 2]
We're gonna get to, to meet him and do high fives and all that stuff

00:04:20 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:04:21 [Speaker 2]
Which would be really cool.
00:04:22 [Speaker 2]
Kinda show him.
00:04:23 [Speaker 2]
He's listened to the show for a while.
00:04:25 [Speaker 2]
You told the story.
00:04:26 [Speaker 2]
He kinda just hangs out, listens to us in

00:04:28 [Speaker 1]
the morning.
00:04:28 [Speaker 1]
Mom told us that he wakes up and kinda just hangs out in his bed and listens sometimes.

00:04:32 [Speaker 2]
Which I think is great.
00:04:33 [Speaker 2]
So I know.
00:04:34 [Speaker 2]
So we're gonna meet him and We

00:04:35 [Speaker 1]
have one he's our one listener.

00:04:37 [Speaker 2]
He's our that's right.
00:04:39 [Speaker 2]
Number one listener.
00:04:42 [Speaker 2]
And he'll be in the studio.
00:04:43 [Speaker 2]
We'll show him around and, kinda give him a cool little tour of the studio, which will be cool.
00:04:47 [Speaker 2]
And then, I don't know.

00:04:49 [Speaker 2]
Should we put them on the radio?

00:04:50 [Speaker 1]
I think so.

00:04:51 [Speaker 2]
I think so too.
00:04:52 [Speaker 2]
I've got an extra set of headphones.
00:04:53 [Speaker 2]
We can make that happen.
00:04:55 [Speaker 2]
So alright.
00:04:56 [Speaker 2]
So you that's our two guests?

00:04:59 [Speaker 1]
Those are our two guests.

00:05:00 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
00:05:00 [Speaker 2]
Very good.

00:05:01 [Speaker 1]
Do you have other guests?

00:05:02 [Speaker 2]
Not that I know of.

00:05:03 [Speaker 1]
Okay.

00:05:05 [Speaker 2]
Looking forward to it.
00:05:06 [Speaker 2]
It's gonna be a good day.

00:05:07 [Speaker 1]
It is gonna be a good day.
00:05:09 [Speaker 1]
Here's to Friday.

00:05:10 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:05:10 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
00:05:11 [Speaker 2]
High five clap.
00:05:13 [Speaker 2]
I didn't get any in yesterday, so I had to get one today.
00:05:17 [Speaker 2]
Good morning.

00:05:20 [Speaker 1]
Think of all the TV shows you've watched in your whole life.

00:05:25 [Speaker 2]
My brain will be shut down for a few minutes.
00:05:28 [Speaker 2]
Why?

00:05:29 [Speaker 1]
Okay.
00:05:29 [Speaker 1]
And then think of all the theme songs you've heard in your whole life.

00:05:32 [Speaker 2]
Sure.

00:05:33 [Speaker 1]
Is there a particular TV show you would watch and you never skipped the intro?

00:05:40 [Speaker 2]
Well, you didn't used to be able to.

00:05:42 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:05:42 [Speaker 1]
I know.
00:05:42 [Speaker 1]
But sometimes you could fast forward, at least.

00:05:45 [Speaker 2]
I mean, not back in the day.
00:05:48 [Speaker 2]
I Don't roll your eyes at me.

00:05:50 [Speaker 1]
Just answer them questions.

00:05:51 [Speaker 2]
Answer is full house.
00:05:52 [Speaker 2]
Like, I never skipped the intro, but you couldn't.
00:05:54 [Speaker 2]
I never skipped the intro for family matters.
00:05:57 [Speaker 2]
You never skipped the intro song for TGI.

00:05:59 [Speaker 1]
Okay.
00:05:59 [Speaker 1]
But if you because you couldn't.
00:06:00 [Speaker 1]
If you could have, would you?
00:06:02 [Speaker 1]
You just loved them now.
00:06:03 [Speaker 1]
But It's

00:06:04 [Speaker 2]
not that I loved them.
00:06:05 [Speaker 2]
It was just part of the watching experience.

00:06:09 [Speaker 1]
You do love Full House.

00:06:11 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

00:06:12 [Speaker 1]
I know you do.
00:06:13 [Speaker 1]
You were excited about the reboot.
00:06:14 [Speaker 1]
I just I mean, I liked Full House, but I didn't I didn't love it the way that you loved it.

00:06:19 [Speaker 2]
I didn't even get to spend any time watching Fuller House.

00:06:21 [Speaker 1]
Why?

00:06:23 [Speaker 2]
Because every time I pick a show, I get that, one of those.
00:06:28 [Speaker 2]
Same.

00:06:28 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:06:29 [Speaker 1]
Oh, come on.

00:06:32 [Speaker 2]
We have so many TVs in the house, I guess.

00:06:38 [Speaker 1]
Full house, Family Matters?

00:06:40 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:06:40 [Speaker 2]
I mean, any of the TGIF stuff

00:06:42 [Speaker 1]
K.

00:06:43 [Speaker 2]
There was always a good theme song.

00:06:45 [Speaker 1]
Is there a current show that you can skip but don't?

00:06:50 [Speaker 2]
See, now that's a better question.

00:06:51 [Speaker 1]
Okay.

00:06:52 [Speaker 2]
Because now the technology exists, and I can't be bothered, honestly.
00:06:58 [Speaker 2]
Two things will happen.

00:06:59 [Speaker 1]
You can't be bothered to skip it?
00:07:01 [Speaker 1]
Or

00:07:01 [Speaker 2]
I can't be bothered to sit through it.
00:07:03 [Speaker 2]
If I'm if I'm binging a show

00:07:05 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:07:06 [Speaker 2]
It should automatically skip intro and just roll the next episode.

00:07:08 [Speaker 1]
Sometimes it does.

00:07:09 [Speaker 2]
It should skip recap.
00:07:10 [Speaker 2]
It should skip intro.
00:07:11 [Speaker 2]
It should just roll into the next episode.
00:07:14 [Speaker 2]
I've never seen that happen.

00:07:16 [Speaker 1]
I feel like

00:07:17 [Speaker 2]
Because that would be helpful.
00:07:19 [Speaker 2]
If I'm binging if I've if I have skipped intro and recap on two episodes, just know that's what I want.
00:07:28 [Speaker 2]
Because it is.
00:07:30 [Speaker 2]
But I also find that I go, where's the remote?
00:07:35 [Speaker 2]
And then I missed the opportunity to skip the intro.

00:07:38 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:07:38 [Speaker 2]
And then I'm like, well, now I'm stuck.
00:07:40 [Speaker 2]
But sometimes the intro is long, but the ability to skip is short.

00:07:45 [Speaker 1]
Sometimes the intro is long, but it gives you, like I'm thinking of, Game of Thrones.

00:07:52 [Speaker 2]
Oh, god.

00:07:53 [Speaker 1]
Kinda give you a

00:07:54 [Speaker 2]
Long intro.

00:07:55 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:07:55 [Speaker 1]
But it would give you kind of an idea of what was happening in the episode.

00:07:59 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:07:59 [Speaker 2]
No.
00:07:59 [Speaker 2]
Some of them are dynamic like that.
00:08:01 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

00:08:02 [Speaker 1]
I will never skip the Bluey theme song.

00:08:05 [Speaker 2]
Why would you?
00:08:06 [Speaker 2]
Exactly.
00:08:07 [Speaker 2]
It's short, and it's part of the episode.
00:08:09 [Speaker 2]
And it's

00:08:14 [Speaker 1]
fun.
00:08:15 [Speaker 1]
And you have to sing along.
00:08:16 [Speaker 1]
You have

00:08:20 [Speaker 2]
to.
00:08:20 [Speaker 2]
Like that.

00:08:21 [Speaker 1]
Exactly.

00:08:21 [Speaker 2]
You hear that, and you immediately go, yep.
00:08:23 [Speaker 2]
I'm watching another episode of Bluewick.

00:08:25 [Speaker 1]
I'm sticking around for the

00:08:26 [Speaker 2]
theme song.
00:08:27 [Speaker 2]
I agree.

00:08:27 [Speaker 1]
Have you

00:08:28 [Speaker 2]
they've gotten better about their, intro clipping too, I would say.
00:08:32 [Speaker 2]
There were times where you would skip the intro when this technology was pretty new, and you'd be like, that's too far into the episode.
00:08:40 [Speaker 2]
Or you'd miss the first part, or it'd be the other way.
00:08:43 [Speaker 2]
And you're like, I skipped the intro, but I'm still gonna hear a few seconds of the song at the end here.
00:08:49 [Speaker 2]
Okay.

00:08:49 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
00:08:51 [Speaker 2]
They've gotten better at where that comes to.

00:08:54 [Speaker 1]
They got it.
00:08:55 [Speaker 1]
Okay.
00:08:56 [Speaker 1]
Full House is your answer.

00:08:57 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:08:58 [Speaker 2]
Bluey is your one answer.
00:09:00 [Speaker 2]
What about old timey?
00:09:01 [Speaker 2]
If you could skip an intro or or not.
00:09:05 [Speaker 2]
MASH, would you skip the intro on MASH?

00:09:08 [Speaker 1]
I would just skip that show altogether.

00:09:10 [Speaker 2]
The helicopter?

00:09:13 [Speaker 1]
Listen.
00:09:13 [Speaker 1]
I know that a lot of people like MASH.

00:09:16 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

00:09:16 [Speaker 1]
I just have bad memories of MASH because that's all my dad watched, and we had the one TV, and we couldn't watch anything else.
00:09:23 [Speaker 1]
And then it was like

00:09:25 [Speaker 2]
This is the same voice I get when I turn on Fuller House.
00:09:29 [Speaker 2]
And then I hated the show, and then I have to watch it, and I don't wanna watch it.
00:09:33 [Speaker 2]
And it's all as you wanna want.
00:09:35 [Speaker 2]
And

00:09:37 [Speaker 1]
I'm the baby.
00:09:38 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:09:38 [Speaker 1]
There it is.

00:09:40 [Speaker 2]
That is the truth.
00:09:43 [Speaker 2]
That is the truth.

00:09:46 [Speaker 1]
Just the baby?
00:09:47 [Speaker 1]
Give me what I want.
00:09:48 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:09:50 [Speaker 1]
Uh-huh.

00:09:54 [Speaker 2]
Let's do some good news here.
00:09:55 [Speaker 2]
This guy, John Massey, he's from Kingswinford, England.
00:10:00 [Speaker 2]
And for twenty seven years, he's been transforming his garden into a lush spectacle while raising money for charity along the way.
00:10:09 [Speaker 2]
This is this is the deal.
00:10:11 [Speaker 2]
It started out as a pretty modest patch of grass in 1998, and it is now a world famous private garden home to over 20,000 plants, and it is visited by thousands since he opened things up to the public twenty two years ago.

00:10:28 [Speaker 2]
Over the past two decades, all the people who spent time in his garden offered donations to charity adding up to 675,000 he's raised over the past twenty two years.

00:10:40 [Speaker 1]
Oh my.

00:10:40 [Speaker 2]
Isn't that impressive?

00:10:42 [Speaker 1]
What's his name?

00:10:42 [Speaker 2]
His name is John Massey.

00:10:44 [Speaker 1]
John?

00:10:45 [Speaker 2]
Yep.
00:10:45 [Speaker 2]
He spent countless hours looking after his garden.
00:10:48 [Speaker 2]
He says he starts at 7AM, and he usually takes one last walk through his creation at 10PM or 11PM.
00:10:56 [Speaker 2]
And he spends a lot of money keeping things going.
00:10:59 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

00:10:59 [Speaker 2]
He said, I wouldn't, like to think how much I've spent on it.
00:11:03 [Speaker 2]
It's a passion, but it would be frightening to know.
00:11:06 [Speaker 2]
The main thing is we've raised a lot of money for good causes in the process, which is pretty amazing.
00:11:12 [Speaker 2]
And when when you think about a garden, you know, in in America, we say garden.
00:11:19 [Speaker 2]
We think vegetable garden.

00:11:20 [Speaker 2]
In England, garden is your yard.
00:11:23 [Speaker 2]
So his yard is unbelievable.
00:11:27 [Speaker 2]
He's got a a pond.
00:11:29 [Speaker 2]
He's got a ton of landscape stuff that he's done.
00:11:32 [Speaker 2]
I mean, it's gorgeous.

00:11:34 [Speaker 2]
It it is a very, very beautiful yard.
00:11:36 [Speaker 2]
And if you're gonna walk around this thing or explore it, yeah, you're gonna see all kinds of different things.
00:11:42 [Speaker 2]
I mean, he's got a series of trees.
00:11:44 [Speaker 2]
He's got,

00:11:45 [Speaker 1]
A series.

00:11:46 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:11:46 [Speaker 2]
Like, like, he's got, big walkways of different varieties of trees and shrubs and flowers and, like, all kinds of different plants and places to sit and, and just be in in his garden.
00:11:58 [Speaker 2]
It's really good.

00:11:59 [Speaker 1]
Who plants flowers every year and spends a lot of money.

00:12:04 [Speaker 2]
I know.

00:12:04 [Speaker 1]
And you spend a lot of money on things to keep it going Yeah.
00:12:08 [Speaker 1]
Plant food and all natural pesticides.
00:12:12 [Speaker 1]
Yep.
00:12:13 [Speaker 1]
It is pricey.

00:12:14 [Speaker 2]
He also said that the garden is constantly changing, through every season, and he just loves it, which, obviously, it's a labor of love for him.
00:12:23 [Speaker 2]
He's been doing it for twenty seven years.
00:12:24 [Speaker 2]
So, well done.
00:12:26 [Speaker 2]
That's awesome.
00:12:27 [Speaker 2]
Good job, John.

00:12:28 [Speaker 1]
Good job, buddy.

00:12:28 [Speaker 2]
Some good news.

00:12:31 [Speaker 1]
There is a stereotype that guys don't like to ask for help and or directions.
00:12:42 [Speaker 1]
I don't know if that's true for you, except, yes, I do know that's true for you.
00:12:48 [Speaker 1]
Oh.

00:12:51 [Speaker 2]
So much anger.
00:12:53 [Speaker 2]
Well Wow.

00:12:54 [Speaker 1]
I don't know how many times we have walked around, wandered around Home Depot or Lowe's, and you're like, I just don't know where this is.
00:13:02 [Speaker 1]
I don't know where this is.
00:13:03 [Speaker 1]
And I go, how many times do I go?
00:13:05 [Speaker 1]
We we could ask.
00:13:06 [Speaker 1]
We could we could ask.

00:13:08 [Speaker 1]
It.
00:13:08 [Speaker 1]
So much.

00:13:09 [Speaker 2]
First of all, it's like, look.
00:13:12 [Speaker 2]
Don't Look.
00:13:13 [Speaker 2]
Get your eyes back in your head.
00:13:16 [Speaker 2]
Listen.
00:13:17 [Speaker 2]
Look and listen.

00:13:18 [Speaker 2]
Here's the deal.
00:13:19 [Speaker 2]
Two things are true.
00:13:21 [Speaker 2]
First, those stores happen to be, like a disorganized garage.
00:13:30 [Speaker 2]
Everything you need is in there.

00:13:32 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

00:13:32 [Speaker 2]
You just gotta remember where you put it.
00:13:35 [Speaker 2]
And I'll find it, and that's fine.
00:13:37 [Speaker 2]
Plus, I might stumble across something I forgot and go, oh, yeah.
00:13:41 [Speaker 2]
I wanted to look at that anyway.
00:13:43 [Speaker 2]
Or I'll be like, oh, look at this.

00:13:45 [Speaker 2]
This is a thing I didn't know existed, and I'm okay with that.
00:13:48 [Speaker 2]
I know you're you're not a big shopper.
00:13:51 [Speaker 2]
So for you, you're like, can we just get what we need and get out?
00:13:54 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:13:54 [Speaker 2]
I know your attitude.

00:13:55 [Speaker 1]
Absolutely me.
00:13:57 [Speaker 1]
I'm a yeah.
00:13:58 [Speaker 1]
I get any especially at those stores.

00:14:00 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
00:14:00 [Speaker 2]
Right.
00:14:00 [Speaker 2]
Because you're not into the disorganized garage.
00:14:03 [Speaker 2]
The other thing is that they both have introduced, websites and apps that you can search for an item, and it'll tell you the aisle and the bin that it is located.

00:14:14 [Speaker 1]
Get that.
00:14:15 [Speaker 1]
But you could also just ask somebody.
00:14:18 [Speaker 1]
I go Sure.
00:14:19 [Speaker 1]
Last night, we're shopping for something, and we're wandering around for a while, and you go, I don't know where this is.
00:14:24 [Speaker 1]
I don't know.

00:14:24 [Speaker 1]
And this is after we had already been down multiple aisles looking for something totally different.

00:14:30 [Speaker 4]
Yeah.

00:14:30 [Speaker 1]
And I go, oh, hey.
00:14:32 [Speaker 1]
Here's a gentleman right over here.
00:14:33 [Speaker 1]
We could just ask this gentleman.
00:14:34 [Speaker 1]
Uh-huh.
00:14:35 [Speaker 1]
And you go, well, I can look it up on their app.

00:14:37 [Speaker 1]
Right.
00:14:38 [Speaker 1]
Let's just ask.

00:14:40 [Speaker 2]
He's got a job to do.

00:14:42 [Speaker 1]
He has multiple jobs to do.

00:14:43 [Speaker 2]
He was busy doing another

00:14:45 [Speaker 1]
one.
00:14:45 [Speaker 1]
Is customer service.
00:14:47 [Speaker 1]
Sure.
00:14:49 [Speaker 1]
I don't understand.

00:14:51 [Speaker 2]
I can find it myself.

00:14:53 [Speaker 1]
I don't

00:14:53 [Speaker 2]
understand.
00:14:54 [Speaker 2]
I'm an adventurer.

00:14:55 [Speaker 1]
Does it make you feel like less of a human No.
00:14:59 [Speaker 1]
Asking for help?

00:15:00 [Speaker 2]
No.
00:15:02 [Speaker 2]
I get excited when I find it myself.

00:15:05 [Speaker 1]
Even if you search for it on the app?

00:15:07 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:15:08 [Speaker 2]
Because even if you search for it on the app, it's gonna tell you the aisle and the bin, but you still have to go because sometimes it's wrong.
00:15:17 [Speaker 2]
And then you have to double check and make sure your phone is in the right city, and you go, Colorado?
00:15:23 [Speaker 2]
What am I doing there?
00:15:25 [Speaker 2]
Then you gotta fix it.

00:15:27 [Speaker 1]
I do not understand this part of you.
00:15:30 [Speaker 1]
I don't understand it at all.

00:15:32 [Speaker 2]
The treasure hunting part of me?

00:15:34 [Speaker 1]
Well, it is what you said it is.

00:15:37 [Speaker 2]
It's it's kind of a fun little treasure hunt.

00:15:41 [Speaker 1]
That part makes sense.
00:15:42 [Speaker 1]
When you put it that way, you are a geocacher.
00:15:45 [Speaker 1]
You like

00:15:45 [Speaker 2]
you like Treasure hunting's awesome.

00:15:47 [Speaker 1]
You like puzzles.
00:15:48 [Speaker 1]
You like

00:15:48 [Speaker 2]
Right.

00:15:49 [Speaker 1]
Solving things.

00:15:50 [Speaker 2]
This is this falls right in line with that.
00:15:53 [Speaker 2]
It's a disorganized garage.
00:15:54 [Speaker 2]
You just gotta find out where you left the thing.
00:15:56 [Speaker 2]
And it's all labeled.
00:15:58 [Speaker 2]
You go, okay.

00:15:58 [Speaker 2]
I'm looking for a ceiling mount porcelain, light fixture for the garage.
00:16:05 [Speaker 2]
That's gotta be either in lighting or electrical because it's what it is.
00:16:10 [Speaker 2]
Right.
00:16:10 [Speaker 2]
And then I started getting near, like, the the boxes for outlets and the the, what do they call it, conduit and all that stuff.
00:16:20 [Speaker 2]
And I'm going, like, alright.

00:16:21 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
00:16:21 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
00:16:22 [Speaker 2]
I'm getting close.
00:16:23 [Speaker 2]
Like, I know I like I've I can feel it.
00:16:25 [Speaker 2]
Like, it attaches to these.

00:16:27 [Speaker 2]
It's gotta be nearby.
00:16:28 [Speaker 2]
And then we wander down the next aisle, and I'm, like, maybe let's check here.
00:16:33 [Speaker 2]
And it's got cleaning supplies on one side and then a little bit more electrical stuff on the on the other side.
00:16:39 [Speaker 2]
And you went, let's just ask this guy.
00:16:41 [Speaker 2]
And then to force me into asking him, you go, what are you looking for?

00:16:48 [Speaker 2]
What are you looking for?
00:16:51 [Speaker 2]
So then I have to explain to the guy I'm looking for, ceiling mount, light socket.
00:16:58 [Speaker 2]
Just, and he goes, oh, you're so close.
00:16:59 [Speaker 2]
It's this aisle.
00:17:00 [Speaker 2]
And I'm like, I would have found it in three seconds.

00:17:03 [Speaker 2]
That's how it went.

00:17:06 [Speaker 1]
I am sorry.

00:17:07 [Speaker 2]
What are you looking for?

00:17:10 [Speaker 1]
Okay.
00:17:10 [Speaker 1]
First of all Yeah.
00:17:11 [Speaker 1]
That gentleman saw that we were looking for something, so he was headed our direction anyway.

00:17:16 [Speaker 2]
He had a bunch of stuff in his hand.

00:17:18 [Speaker 1]
But he also said, is there something I can help you with?

00:17:21 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:17:21 [Speaker 2]
Because he saw you go and, like, help him.

00:17:23 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:17:24 [Speaker 1]
I'm sure

00:17:25 [Speaker 2]
What are you looking for?
00:17:28 [Speaker 2]
You tell him.
00:17:29 [Speaker 2]
I'm gonna go down this island so

00:17:31 [Speaker 1]
I do.
00:17:31 [Speaker 1]
No idea what you're looking for.

00:17:32 [Speaker 2]
Exactly.

00:17:33 [Speaker 1]
Otherwise because

00:17:34 [Speaker 2]
you saw the one that you used to mount a ceiling fan and said, isn't that it?
00:17:37 [Speaker 2]
And I said, no.
00:17:39 [Speaker 2]
That is not it.

00:17:40 [Speaker 1]
If I know if I ever know what you're looking for, I would ask the first person I saw.

00:17:46 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:17:46 [Speaker 2]
I'd

00:17:46 [Speaker 1]
be like, oh, hey.
00:17:47 [Speaker 1]
This is what we're looking for.
00:17:48 [Speaker 1]
Can you tell me what aisle this is in?
00:17:50 [Speaker 1]
Thank you.

00:17:50 [Speaker 2]
Because what they're gonna do is they're gonna type it into their little, phone, and then they're gonna read the same thing I would read.
00:17:56 [Speaker 2]
They're gonna go, oh, yeah.
00:17:57 [Speaker 2]
It's on Aisle 11 No.
00:17:58 [Speaker 2]
Not always.
00:17:58 [Speaker 2]
13.

00:17:59 [Speaker 1]
That guy knew exactly where it was.

00:18:00 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:18:01 [Speaker 2]
And

00:18:01 [Speaker 1]
then we had to ask another guy for something else, and he was like, oh, yeah.
00:18:04 [Speaker 1]
I'll take you right to

00:18:04 [Speaker 2]
it.
00:18:05 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

00:18:06 [Speaker 1]
Done.
00:18:06 [Speaker 1]
Done.
00:18:06 [Speaker 1]
Done.
00:18:07 [Speaker 1]
In and out.
00:18:08 [Speaker 1]
Let's get out of here.

00:18:12 [Speaker 2]
But what about wandering around and looking at stuff?

00:18:15 [Speaker 1]
I don't like it.
00:18:17 [Speaker 1]
I don't like it.
00:18:18 [Speaker 1]
And that's in that store, no.
00:18:21 [Speaker 1]
There's only so much hose and screws you can look at.
00:18:29 [Speaker 1]
Oh, wow.

00:18:29 [Speaker 2]
You can look at so much.

00:18:31 [Speaker 1]
Here's this thing.

00:18:31 [Speaker 2]
A whole hardware section.

00:18:33 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:18:33 [Speaker 1]
It's so no, not so boring.
00:18:39 [Speaker 1]
Alright.

00:18:40 [Speaker 2]
Well

00:18:40 [Speaker 1]
I'm sorry I took out the fun of your puzzling.

00:18:43 [Speaker 2]
That's fine.

00:18:46 [Speaker 1]
I'm used to

00:18:46 [Speaker 2]
it by now.

00:18:47 [Speaker 1]
Didn't say it like that.

00:18:48 [Speaker 2]
Oh, you said it exactly like that.
00:18:51 [Speaker 2]
What are you looking for?

00:18:56 [Speaker 1]
I took Emery to the eye doctor yesterday, and they were, you know, doing the thing, like, what's the what's the lowest line you can read?
00:19:08 [Speaker 1]
And she goes, oh, the bottom one.
00:19:09 [Speaker 1]
And he goes, okay.
00:19:10 [Speaker 1]
Tell me those letters.
00:19:12 [Speaker 1]
And she goes, okay.

00:19:14 [Speaker 1]
E t g b l?
00:19:17 [Speaker 1]
And then he does the thing where he goes, what looks better?
00:19:20 [Speaker 1]
One or two?

00:19:20 [Speaker 2]
And she's

00:19:21 [Speaker 1]
like, one?

00:19:21 [Speaker 2]
1 or two.
00:19:22 [Speaker 2]
1 or two?
00:19:24 [Speaker 2]
2.

00:19:25 [Speaker 1]
You're right.
00:19:25 [Speaker 1]
She's, like, you know, confu not confused, but she kinda had this attitude of, like, I don't know.
00:19:33 [Speaker 1]
I don't really know.

00:19:34 [Speaker 4]
Yeah.

00:19:35 [Speaker 1]
And I told the doctor, I go, it always feels like you're failing here.
00:19:39 [Speaker 1]
Like, you've been given a test, and it doesn't matter that it's your eyes and it's they're trying to figure out what your prescription is.
00:19:46 [Speaker 1]
But every time they go, what looks better?
00:19:49 [Speaker 1]
One or two?
00:19:49 [Speaker 1]
And you go two, and they go, okay.

00:19:51 [Speaker 1]
Let's switch.
00:19:52 [Speaker 1]
It feels like you've gotten that answer wrong.

00:19:54 [Speaker 2]
Right.

00:19:55 [Speaker 1]
It's like, just tell me.
00:19:56 [Speaker 1]
I don't know what looks better.
00:19:57 [Speaker 1]
Just tell me what I should say.

00:20:00 [Speaker 2]
But they don't know because they can't see through your eyes.
00:20:03 [Speaker 2]
No.
00:20:03 [Speaker 2]
I totally get it.
00:20:04 [Speaker 2]
That's why they do that.

00:20:06 [Speaker 1]
I know.

00:20:07 [Speaker 2]
And I imagine they probably start at your current prescription because they have that documented.

00:20:13 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

00:20:13 [Speaker 2]
And then from there, they go, alright.
00:20:15 [Speaker 2]
Let's see if we change a magnification, what happens?

00:20:18 [Speaker 1]
If we

00:20:18 [Speaker 2]
change a little bit of a curvature, what happens if we

00:20:22 [Speaker 1]
But why does it always feel like you're giving the wrong answer?

00:20:26 [Speaker 2]
I don't feel that way.

00:20:27 [Speaker 1]
Oh, I always do.
00:20:28 [Speaker 1]
I'm like

00:20:29 [Speaker 2]
Like, I understand what you're saying.
00:20:31 [Speaker 2]
But

00:20:31 [Speaker 1]
B?
00:20:32 [Speaker 1]
Is that a b?

00:20:33 [Speaker 2]
If you can't see it, then you need to get

00:20:36 [Speaker 1]
it fixed.
00:20:36 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:20:36 [Speaker 1]
I completely understand.
00:20:38 [Speaker 1]
That's the reason I'm there because I can't see.
00:20:40 [Speaker 1]
Well, I can now Yeah.

00:20:42 [Speaker 1]
With my new lacing.
00:20:43 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:20:43 [Speaker 2]
But Oh, I've heard about that.

00:20:46 [Speaker 1]
But before going to the doctor, I'd be like, I I don't know.
00:20:50 [Speaker 1]
I don't know.
00:20:51 [Speaker 1]
A o?
00:20:53 [Speaker 1]
Just tell me.

00:20:54 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:20:54 [Speaker 2]
You're hantel with the new twenty twenty vision.
00:20:56 [Speaker 2]
I know all about you.
00:20:58 [Speaker 2]
So when you walk in, they go, oh, Chantel with the new twenty twenty vision.

00:21:03 [Speaker 1]
I see.
00:21:04 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:21:04 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:21:04 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:21:05 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:21:05 [Speaker 2]
Look at her go.
00:21:10 [Speaker 2]
She can see for miles.

00:21:11 [Speaker 1]
I can see for miles.

00:21:12 [Speaker 2]
That's right.

00:21:13 [Speaker 1]
And I can read the bottom line on things.

00:21:15 [Speaker 2]
Isn't that something?

00:21:16 [Speaker 1]
La dee da.

00:21:18 [Speaker 2]
Why why the snaps?

00:21:19 [Speaker 1]
Because it's cool.
00:21:21 [Speaker 1]
Okay.
00:21:22 [Speaker 1]
Alright.

00:21:24 [Speaker 2]
So now when you go in, do you feel the same way?

00:21:27 [Speaker 1]
Oh, I always feel that way.
00:21:29 [Speaker 1]
It's like, I I don't know.
00:21:31 [Speaker 1]
What does that say?

00:21:32 [Speaker 2]
Because you go in for follow ups.
00:21:33 [Speaker 2]
And you don't have to go back now until you're one year.
00:21:36 [Speaker 2]
Right?
00:21:36 [Speaker 2]
Or are you on your sixth month?
00:21:39 [Speaker 2]
I don't remember.

00:21:40 [Speaker 1]
I don't either.
00:21:40 [Speaker 1]
I don't.

00:21:41 [Speaker 2]
But when you go back in and they go, alright.
00:21:43 [Speaker 2]
Let's see how things are looking.
00:21:44 [Speaker 2]
They go, I don't know.
00:21:47 [Speaker 2]
You might be the Chantel with the new 2025

00:21:51 [Speaker 1]
vision.
00:21:52 [Speaker 1]
Whoo.

00:21:54 [Speaker 2]
Look at you.
00:21:56 [Speaker 2]
Can see for two miles.

00:21:57 [Speaker 1]
You really don't feel like you're making the wrong decision?
00:22:00 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:22:00 [Speaker 1]
You're giving the wrong answer on a task.

00:22:02 [Speaker 2]
I wonder if I make the right decision afterward, but I don't in the moment, I'm not I don't have the test anxiety thing.

00:22:10 [Speaker 1]
Oh, I do.

00:22:11 [Speaker 2]
I I really do.
00:22:12 [Speaker 2]
I don't.
00:22:13 [Speaker 2]
And so I don't feel like I'm gonna fail because I'm being asked to to, you know, confirm what my eyeballs seem.

00:22:22 [Speaker 1]
I know.
00:22:25 [Speaker 1]
I do.
00:22:26 [Speaker 1]
I go, I I I want two.
00:22:28 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:22:29 [Speaker 1]
One.

00:22:30 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:22:31 [Speaker 1]
Go back.
00:22:32 [Speaker 1]
Show me again.
00:22:32 [Speaker 1]
I Yeah.
00:22:34 [Speaker 1]
I don't know.

00:22:34 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:22:36 [Speaker 2]
I don't know.
00:22:37 [Speaker 2]
I I don't have that issue.

00:22:38 [Speaker 1]
I'm sorry.
00:22:38 [Speaker 1]
Or two?

00:22:39 [Speaker 2]
Feel that way.
00:22:40 [Speaker 2]
Like, I I get it.

00:22:41 [Speaker 1]
But Sometimes they look the same, and I go, are they supposed to look

00:22:44 [Speaker 2]
the same?
00:22:44 [Speaker 2]
And then you can say, there's no difference.

00:22:47 [Speaker 1]
I say that.
00:22:47 [Speaker 1]
I've said that before.
00:22:48 [Speaker 1]
I go, oh, they're about the same.
00:22:50 [Speaker 1]
Okay.
00:22:51 [Speaker 1]
Okay?

00:22:52 [Speaker 1]
One or two.
00:22:54 [Speaker 1]
One or two.

00:22:55 [Speaker 2]
What I what I thought was thought was interesting was, like, sometimes he'd flip it and one like, the line of letters would move up higher.
00:23:01 [Speaker 2]
And I go, what is happening?
00:23:02 [Speaker 2]
And I, cover your left eye.
00:23:04 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
00:23:04 [Speaker 2]
I'm holding this wooden, you know, plastic spoon in

00:23:07 [Speaker 1]
my face.
00:23:07 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:23:08 [Speaker 2]
And then he'd move it, and and the line would go, you know, because it's changing something, you know, very small, but it makes the line go boop.
00:23:16 [Speaker 2]
And I go, all that did was move it up.
00:23:19 [Speaker 2]
Like, it didn't that didn't become any clearer or blurrier.
00:23:22 [Speaker 2]
It moved it.
00:23:24 [Speaker 2]
How did you do that?

00:23:25 [Speaker 2]
Like and then then might get in my brain about, like, okay.
00:23:30 [Speaker 2]
Is what I'm seeing real?
00:23:32 [Speaker 2]
Oh.
00:23:32 [Speaker 2]
Like or is it just what I see?
00:23:35 [Speaker 2]
Because I see it at this position or this color, and everybody else sees it with their own eyes at a different place and a different color.

00:23:44 [Speaker 2]
Like, you never know.
00:23:45 [Speaker 2]
Everything's a variable.

00:23:47 [Speaker 1]
Well and do you remember the you have the hot balloon the hot air balloon

00:23:51 [Speaker 2]
Oh, yeah.

00:23:52 [Speaker 1]
Test at the beginning.
00:23:53 [Speaker 1]
Do you see two hot air balloons or one?

00:23:55 [Speaker 2]
I don't even remember.
00:23:56 [Speaker 2]
I thought you just had to stop when they lined up.

00:23:59 [Speaker 1]
You have to make a match.
00:24:00 [Speaker 1]
Right?

00:24:00 [Speaker 2]
You just have to wait till they line up.

00:24:02 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:24:03 [Speaker 1]
So you see two at first, and then you have to go until they become one, I think.

00:24:07 [Speaker 2]
But see, I can do that thing like the magic eye thing, or I can make my eyes focus in and out real quick.
00:24:13 [Speaker 2]
So I don't know.
00:24:14 [Speaker 2]
They never test for that.
00:24:15 [Speaker 2]
They never go like, can you see the magic eye?

00:24:18 [Speaker 1]
Good.
00:24:19 [Speaker 1]
I'm glad because I can.

00:24:20 [Speaker 2]
Because I but I can.

00:24:21 [Speaker 1]
I would fail that test.
00:24:22 [Speaker 1]
I'd be like,

00:24:23 [Speaker 2]
yes.
00:24:23 [Speaker 2]
I can see it right now.
00:24:25 [Speaker 2]
They'd be like, what is it?
00:24:26 [Speaker 2]
Like, it's a penguin.
00:24:27 [Speaker 2]
What do you mean what is it?

00:24:29 [Speaker 2]
It's a penguin, clear as day, standing right there in the middle of a bunch of dots.
00:24:36 [Speaker 2]
They'd be like, you're right.
00:24:37 [Speaker 2]
It is.

00:24:38 [Speaker 1]
You passed.
00:24:38 [Speaker 1]
Well done.

00:24:39 [Speaker 2]
But then when you go in, they go, alright.
00:24:41 [Speaker 2]
What is it?
00:24:41 [Speaker 2]
You go, roller skate?
00:24:43 [Speaker 2]
And they go, no.
00:24:44 [Speaker 2]
It's a penguin.

00:24:45 [Speaker 2]
What's wrong with your eyes?

00:24:46 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:24:46 [Speaker 1]
I say, I don't I failed.

00:24:48 [Speaker 2]
Let's try this.
00:24:48 [Speaker 2]
One or two.
00:24:53 [Speaker 2]
I did it.
00:24:56 [Speaker 2]
I did it.

00:24:57 [Speaker 1]
Good job.

00:24:58 [Speaker 2]
I've built a thing.

00:24:59 [Speaker 1]
You did build a thing.

00:25:01 [Speaker 2]
As we were wandering around at the, Home Depot because you needed some other things, I went, oh, hey.
00:25:08 [Speaker 2]
While we're here, let's wander down this aisle and look at this stuff.
00:25:14 [Speaker 2]
And I and I found the, netting fence, not like snow fence, but just the just the plastic netting fence.
00:25:22 [Speaker 2]
And then I found a couple of, posts, a little green posts, and I went, this is everything I need.
00:25:29 [Speaker 2]
This is it.

00:25:30 [Speaker 2]
I already have the zip ties.
00:25:31 [Speaker 2]
I've already got the little sledgehammer.
00:25:34 [Speaker 2]
I can make all this happen.
00:25:36 [Speaker 2]
And I built the compost area.
00:25:38 [Speaker 2]
Finally.

00:25:39 [Speaker 1]
Good job.

00:25:40 [Speaker 2]
Built the compost area.

00:25:41 [Speaker 1]
Know.
00:25:43 [Speaker 1]
Does it feel good?

00:25:44 [Speaker 2]
It feels good.
00:25:45 [Speaker 2]
I'm it feels good.

00:25:46 [Speaker 1]
This is a project we've wanted to do for a couple of years now.

00:25:50 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:25:50 [Speaker 2]
I

00:25:50 [Speaker 1]
don't know why it's taken so long because it wasn't

00:25:52 [Speaker 2]
No.
00:25:53 [Speaker 2]
It wasn't that big a deal.
00:25:54 [Speaker 2]
I just haven't built it.
00:25:55 [Speaker 2]
I've built it now.
00:25:56 [Speaker 2]
I've built it now.

00:25:58 [Speaker 1]
We I mean, I've started collecting stuff to throw in there.
00:26:02 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:26:02 [Speaker 1]
So we've just been holding stuff to throw in the composting bin.

00:26:05 [Speaker 2]
In the compost now.

00:26:06 [Speaker 1]
It's all in there.
00:26:07 [Speaker 1]
You know what you can throw in the compost bin?

00:26:09 [Speaker 2]
All kinds of things.

00:26:10 [Speaker 1]
We have friends that have, their composting system is Yeah.
00:26:14 [Speaker 1]
Amazing.

00:26:14 [Speaker 2]
They've got they've got a lot of, like, three they've got a full three stager Yeah.
00:26:19 [Speaker 2]
Which I which I appreciate.
00:26:20 [Speaker 2]
I like the three stager.
00:26:21 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:26:22 [Speaker 2]
Because when you get into it, you know, it's gonna take a while for my one stage system to to to build it down.

00:26:30 [Speaker 2]
And I'll throw in some, you know, grass clippings and stuff.
00:26:33 [Speaker 2]
Hopefully, today, I can mow the lawn and do that.
00:26:36 [Speaker 2]
But there's a few things you gotta get done.
00:26:37 [Speaker 2]
Right?
00:26:38 [Speaker 2]
And then, and then it starts to just heat up, and it starts to create decomposition in there.

00:26:45 [Speaker 2]
And a lot of, like, you know, bugs get in there, and they create dirt, and it just turns into, like, awesome fertilizer.

00:26:52 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:26:52 [Speaker 1]
It does.

00:26:53 [Speaker 4]
Yeah.

00:26:53 [Speaker 1]
I was looking at all the things you can throw in there.
00:26:55 [Speaker 1]
You can throw so much stuff in there.

00:26:57 [Speaker 2]
Such as?
00:26:58 [Speaker 2]
I mean, obviously, food scrap.

00:27:00 [Speaker 1]
Food scrap for sure.
00:27:01 [Speaker 1]
Dry leaves, wood chips

00:27:02 [Speaker 2]
Uh-huh.

00:27:03 [Speaker 1]
Shredded paper and cardboard Uh-huh.
00:27:05 [Speaker 1]
Straw and hay, pine needles, tea bags.
00:27:09 [Speaker 1]
I had a tea last night, and I was like,

00:27:11 [Speaker 2]
oh, god.
00:27:11 [Speaker 2]
Me.
00:27:12 [Speaker 2]
I didn't know.
00:27:12 [Speaker 2]
Oh, you can.
00:27:13 [Speaker 2]
Okay.

00:27:14 [Speaker 1]
You absolutely coffee grounds.

00:27:16 [Speaker 2]
Sure.

00:27:17 [Speaker 1]
You can also throw in hair and nail clippings.

00:27:20 [Speaker 2]
Really?

00:27:21 [Speaker 1]
You can also throw in and I knew this, cotton Uh-huh.
00:27:26 [Speaker 1]
Natural.
00:27:26 [Speaker 1]
So you can throw in, like, cotton socks.

00:27:29 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
00:27:29 [Speaker 2]
Do they have to be white, or does that matter?

00:27:33 [Speaker 1]
As long as it's natural fibers, I think it's okay.
00:27:36 [Speaker 1]
But if they use, like, an artificial dye

00:27:38 [Speaker 2]
I see.

00:27:38 [Speaker 1]
Probably not.
00:27:40 [Speaker 1]
I don't know.
00:27:41 [Speaker 1]
We'll have to ask

00:27:41 [Speaker 2]
have white socks.
00:27:42 [Speaker 2]
That's why I'm asking.

00:27:43 [Speaker 1]
To ask our composting experts.

00:27:45 [Speaker 2]
For sure.

00:27:47 [Speaker 1]
Used matches.

00:27:49 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
00:27:49 [Speaker 2]
Because they're just, like, little wood.

00:27:52 [Speaker 1]
Yep.
00:27:52 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:27:52 [Speaker 1]
Meat, bones, and dairy products.

00:27:54 [Speaker 2]
Bones.

00:27:56 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:27:56 [Speaker 2]
You can throw bones in the compost.

00:27:59 [Speaker 1]
The Internet says you can.

00:28:01 [Speaker 2]
I mean, eventually, they'll break down.
00:28:03 [Speaker 2]
No.
00:28:03 [Speaker 2]
I don't know.
00:28:03 [Speaker 2]
I mean, I think bones would take a long time, but I guess they, you know, they would contribute to the fertilizer in the soil and stuff in a in an interesting way.

00:28:14 [Speaker 1]
Weeds

00:28:15 [Speaker 2]
Okay.

00:28:15 [Speaker 1]
With seeds.

00:28:16 [Speaker 2]
Okay.

00:28:18 [Speaker 1]
Oh, no.
00:28:18 [Speaker 1]
Sorry.
00:28:18 [Speaker 1]
This is you can't these are sorry.
00:28:20 [Speaker 1]
Sorry.
00:28:21 [Speaker 1]
Go back.

00:28:21 [Speaker 1]
Go back.
00:28:22 [Speaker 1]
Go back.

00:28:22 [Speaker 2]
Bones is not on the list.

00:28:23 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:28:23 [Speaker 1]
This is the Yeah.

00:28:24 [Speaker 2]
Don't throw bones and meat.

00:28:25 [Speaker 1]
Don't throw this in

00:28:27 [Speaker 2]
there.
00:28:27 [Speaker 2]
Don't throw bones and meat.

00:28:28 [Speaker 1]
And dairy products.

00:28:30 [Speaker 2]
And okay.
00:28:30 [Speaker 2]
Good.
00:28:31 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
00:28:31 [Speaker 2]
Now we're getting somewhere.

00:28:32 [Speaker 1]
Have I thrown in dairy products?
00:28:33 [Speaker 1]
I don't know.

00:28:34 [Speaker 2]
I didn't see any cheese in there or anything.
00:28:38 [Speaker 2]
All I saw was, like, mango, skins and avocado skin.

00:28:43 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:28:43 [Speaker 2]
Eggshells.
00:28:44 [Speaker 2]
I know you can do eggshells.
00:28:45 [Speaker 2]
They're good.

00:28:46 [Speaker 1]
Yes.
00:28:47 [Speaker 1]
I saved all that stuff.
00:28:48 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:28:49 [Speaker 1]
Some watermelon and

00:28:50 [Speaker 2]
garlic.
00:28:51 [Speaker 2]
Spinach leaves.

00:28:52 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:28:52 [Speaker 1]
That had gone bad.
00:28:53 [Speaker 1]
Mhmm.
00:28:55 [Speaker 1]
So don't listen to that last part.

00:28:56 [Speaker 2]
But no bones.
00:28:57 [Speaker 2]
No meat.

00:28:58 [Speaker 1]
No dairy products.
00:28:59 [Speaker 1]
Wonder why.
00:29:00 [Speaker 1]
Oh, it can attract pests and create odors.

00:29:02 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:29:03 [Speaker 2]
You don't want a stinky compost.

00:29:05 [Speaker 1]
Thrown any meat in there, have we?

00:29:06 [Speaker 2]
I didn't throw any meat in there.

00:29:13 [Speaker 1]
If you do throw weeds in there with seeds, they can reestablish

00:29:17 [Speaker 2]
You're gonna plant weeds.

00:29:18 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:29:18 [Speaker 1]
Don't do that.

00:29:19 [Speaker 2]
I'm trying not to.

00:29:21 [Speaker 1]
Everything else is good.
00:29:22 [Speaker 1]
Everything else we said was good.

00:29:23 [Speaker 2]
Awesome.
00:29:24 [Speaker 2]
You can end up with, some volunteer plants growing.
00:29:31 [Speaker 2]
Our buddy, Eric, he he says he always ends up with, like, a random pumpkin or

00:29:35 [Speaker 1]
some squash or some candy stuff.
00:29:38 [Speaker 1]
Seeds in there.

00:29:39 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:29:39 [Speaker 2]
They they it's a great place for them to stay

00:29:41 [Speaker 1]
warm and grow.
00:29:42 [Speaker 1]
I threw in some pepper seeds, so we might have some volunteer peppers that grow.

00:29:46 [Speaker 2]
I'm not mad about that.

00:29:49 [Speaker 1]
I'm kind of excited.

00:29:50 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

00:29:50 [Speaker 1]
It's gonna eliminate, like, our our trash.

00:29:53 [Speaker 2]
Garbage down quite a bit, which is good because food waste will now go into the compost.

00:29:58 [Speaker 1]
Look at us doing stuff for the environment.

00:30:00 [Speaker 2]
One small little thing, just doing a compost.
00:30:03 [Speaker 2]
It also helps build fertilizer for the garden every year.
00:30:06 [Speaker 2]
It's gonna take a little while to build it up, as I said, though, and to get enough to be able to, to turn it into dirt that I can use in the compost, for the garden.
00:30:15 [Speaker 2]
But

00:30:16 [Speaker 1]
It started.

00:30:17 [Speaker 2]
That's the point.

00:30:18 [Speaker 1]
And here we go.

00:30:19 [Speaker 2]
Right.
00:30:19 [Speaker 2]
Exactly.

00:30:20 [Speaker 1]
Compost all the things.

00:30:22 [Speaker 2]
Not all the things.

00:30:23 [Speaker 1]
Or bones or dairy products.

00:30:24 [Speaker 2]
Right.
00:30:24 [Speaker 2]
Or weeds with seeds.
00:30:27 [Speaker 2]
Keep the weeds out.

00:30:29 [Speaker 1]
Or fats and oils and grease.

00:30:31 [Speaker 2]
Okay.

00:30:31 [Speaker 1]
I did know that part.

00:30:32 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:30:33 [Speaker 2]
Those don't go in there.
00:30:34 [Speaker 2]
Good to know.
00:30:35 [Speaker 2]
Where do those go?

00:30:37 [Speaker 1]
In the regular garbage.

00:30:38 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
00:30:39 [Speaker 2]
Sounds good to me.
00:30:40 [Speaker 2]
But I I did it.

00:30:43 [Speaker 1]
High five, bud.

00:30:44 [Speaker 2]
High five clappy, bud.

00:30:46 [Speaker 1]
High five clap.
00:30:50 [Speaker 1]
How would you explain what happened yesterday

00:30:53 [Speaker 2]
afternoon?
00:30:54 [Speaker 2]
Well, I would say what happened is you're a weirdo, and you said, hey.
00:30:58 [Speaker 2]
Let's try that thing where you, pick each other up from the floor and try to put yours put them on the couch.

00:31:05 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:31:07 [Speaker 1]
The the Tic Tac trend.

00:31:08 [Speaker 2]
It was a video we saw.

00:31:10 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:31:10 [Speaker 1]
I guess it was just one video we saw.
00:31:12 [Speaker 1]
And it was just a spouse, a woman trying to pick up her husband, and then the husband picking up his

00:31:17 [Speaker 2]
I think he and he picked her up first.

00:31:20 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:31:20 [Speaker 2]
And went, pretty quickly and went, there you go.
00:31:23 [Speaker 2]
You're on the couch.
00:31:25 [Speaker 2]
And then, she struggled and never got him onto the couch.
00:31:29 [Speaker 2]
But the the whole point is that you you lay down on the floor in front of the couch, and then you just, are dead weight.
00:31:37 [Speaker 2]
You just you gotta move my whole body onto the couch.

00:31:41 [Speaker 1]
I think I've succeeded.

00:31:43 [Speaker 2]
In what?
00:31:46 [Speaker 2]
You got my, bottom half of my legs on the couch.

00:31:50 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:31:50 [Speaker 1]
At one point.
00:31:51 [Speaker 1]
Knees.

00:31:51 [Speaker 2]
And that's the bottom half of my legs, and and that was it.

00:31:57 [Speaker 1]
It was a solid effort, though.
00:32:00 [Speaker 1]
You can't say I didn't try.

00:32:01 [Speaker 2]
Oh, I didn't say you didn't try.
00:32:03 [Speaker 2]
I will say there were times when I thought you were actually gonna get, like, some some lifting power, and then you would stop.
00:32:12 [Speaker 2]
Like, I didn't even know if you tried lifting, and you were like, this is hard.
00:32:16 [Speaker 2]
And I was like, I don't think you actually tried the lift.
00:32:19 [Speaker 2]
I did.

00:32:20 [Speaker 2]
No.
00:32:20 [Speaker 2]
I like, there were times I know you did because I felt you pulling, but there were other times where I was like, I don't even think you're trying to lift right now.
00:32:27 [Speaker 2]
You're just trying to find a way to hold on.
00:32:30 [Speaker 2]
And then you're like, no way.
00:32:31 [Speaker 2]
That's not it.

00:32:33 [Speaker 2]
I lifted you twice Yeah.
00:32:35 [Speaker 2]
Two different ways.

00:32:36 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:32:38 [Speaker 1]
I kinda helped.
00:32:40 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:32:40 [Speaker 1]
I didn't.
00:32:41 [Speaker 1]
Oh, no.

00:32:42 [Speaker 1]
I did have a good idea that I was just gonna lift you up Yeah.
00:32:46 [Speaker 1]
Like, little at a time and shove enough stuff underneath you that I could make you as tall as the couch, and then I could just roll you onto the couch.
00:32:55 [Speaker 1]
That was a good plan.

00:32:56 [Speaker 2]
It's an interesting idea, but your plan was to use blankets and pillows, which I don't know.
00:33:02 [Speaker 2]
They sort of compact as you put weight on.

00:33:05 [Speaker 1]
I noticed that.

00:33:06 [Speaker 2]
It wasn't gonna get you very far, and we I don't think we have enough pillows and blankets in the house even though we have a lot to get me to the height of the couch.

00:33:15 [Speaker 1]
Your method was you lifted me by my legs first.
00:33:19 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:33:20 [Speaker 1]
Well, I So it's kinda dangling by my head.

00:33:23 [Speaker 2]
Was trying to figure out if the my first thought was I was gonna do the the like, you can roll and then, like, fireman carry somebody.
00:33:31 [Speaker 2]
So I was gonna try

00:33:33 [Speaker 1]
Oh.

00:33:33 [Speaker 2]
To do that first, and then I couldn't figure out the the movement for it.
00:33:37 [Speaker 2]
So then I was like, alright.
00:33:38 [Speaker 2]
Well, let me see if I can just lift you.
00:33:41 [Speaker 2]
So I was like, I'll start at your legs and just lift.
00:33:43 [Speaker 2]
And then I just lifted you up like a baby and then put you on the couch by your legs.

00:33:50 [Speaker 2]
That was fun.

00:33:51 [Speaker 1]
I tried to do that to you.
00:33:52 [Speaker 1]
I didn't get very far.

00:33:53 [Speaker 2]
You got I had the bottom half of my legs on the couch, though.

00:33:58 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:33:58 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:34:00 [Speaker 2]
And then a pillow under my head.
00:34:02 [Speaker 2]
That was nice.

00:34:02 [Speaker 1]
At one point, I tried.
00:34:03 [Speaker 1]
I lifted the top half of you, and I had you kinda I was like, okay.

00:34:07 [Speaker 2]
You're gonna be propped up.

00:34:08 [Speaker 1]
If I can get you propped up, I can lift you from underneath your arms Mhmm.
00:34:13 [Speaker 1]
And get you on the couch.

00:34:14 [Speaker 2]
But But not once did you try to go under my, like, armpits and hold me up.

00:34:19 [Speaker 1]
That's what I was trying to do that last time.

00:34:21 [Speaker 2]
You never did.

00:34:22 [Speaker 1]
But I needed help propping you up.
00:34:24 [Speaker 1]
Right.

00:34:24 [Speaker 2]
And

00:34:24 [Speaker 1]
that's when Beck came in, and I said, Beck, help prop him up.
00:34:28 [Speaker 1]
And he was like, what?

00:34:29 [Speaker 2]
Just put his leg there.
00:34:30 [Speaker 2]
Like, is this gonna do?

00:34:33 [Speaker 1]
And then he left.

00:34:34 [Speaker 2]
I know.
00:34:34 [Speaker 2]
He's like,

00:34:34 [Speaker 1]
I don't want Yeah.

00:34:35 [Speaker 4]
I don't want I

00:34:35 [Speaker 1]
don't want part of this.

00:34:36 [Speaker 2]
This is you guys are wild.
00:34:38 [Speaker 2]
Because he walked out and said, what is going on here?
00:34:41 [Speaker 2]
And then he

00:34:41 [Speaker 1]
showed us a football video, and then he left.

00:34:43 [Speaker 2]
That's exactly right.

00:34:47 [Speaker 1]
I want no part of this.
00:34:48 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:34:48 [Speaker 1]
You guys are straight.

00:34:50 [Speaker 2]
I'm I'm going away.

00:34:52 [Speaker 1]
It was fun, though.
00:34:53 [Speaker 1]
I had fun.

00:34:54 [Speaker 2]
Did you?

00:34:54 [Speaker 1]
It was a lot of giggling.

00:34:56 [Speaker 2]
I mean, you could have tried, like, lifting up my torso and then going under my arms and then lifting up that way.

00:35:04 [Speaker 1]
That's what I was trying to do.
00:35:05 [Speaker 1]
That's what I'm saying.

00:35:06 [Speaker 2]
Lift, but you never did.

00:35:08 [Speaker 1]
But I no.
00:35:08 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:35:08 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:35:09 [Speaker 1]
Because I needed you to be propped a little bit.

00:35:12 [Speaker 2]
Why didn't you just go behind me and lift that way?

00:35:15 [Speaker 1]
I tried.
00:35:16 [Speaker 1]
It was hard.
00:35:17 [Speaker 1]
It's it was hard.

00:35:19 [Speaker 2]
I know.
00:35:20 [Speaker 2]
I'm a heavy boy.

00:35:21 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:35:21 [Speaker 1]
That's not I'm just weak.
00:35:22 [Speaker 1]
I have no upper body strength.
00:35:24 [Speaker 1]
And if you'll notice, I kept saying, one, two.
00:35:28 [Speaker 1]
Okay.

00:35:28 [Speaker 1]
One,

00:35:28 [Speaker 2]
two, three.
00:35:29 [Speaker 2]
Kept just counting.
00:35:31 [Speaker 2]
You weren't like one, two, three lift.
00:35:33 [Speaker 2]
You just kept going one, two, three.
00:35:34 [Speaker 2]
One, two, three.

00:35:35 [Speaker 2]
One, two, three.
00:35:36 [Speaker 2]
And I'm like, what are you counting?

00:35:37 [Speaker 1]
I kept trying to, like, give myself a pep talk.
00:35:40 [Speaker 1]
Okay.
00:35:40 [Speaker 1]
You got this.

00:35:41 [Speaker 2]
+1, 23 is a pep

00:35:42 [Speaker 1]
talk.
00:35:42 [Speaker 1]
Rico?
00:35:43 [Speaker 1]
What's

00:35:43 [Speaker 2]
You didn't even 3.
00:35:44 [Speaker 2]
+1, 23.
00:35:45 [Speaker 2]
+1, 23.
00:35:46 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
00:35:46 [Speaker 2]
+1, 23.

00:35:47 [Speaker 2]
And then you you go, no.
00:35:49 [Speaker 2]
That's not it.
00:35:49 [Speaker 2]
I'll try something else.
00:35:54 [Speaker 2]
If you want a fun time, try to lift your,

00:35:56 [Speaker 1]
your your

00:35:57 [Speaker 2]
your partner from the ground up to a couch.

00:36:00 [Speaker 1]
Oh, it was fun.

00:36:01 [Speaker 2]
It's it's a challenge.

00:36:02 [Speaker 1]
It was a challenge.

00:36:03 [Speaker 2]
Even picking you up by your legs like a baby.

00:36:05 [Speaker 1]
It was good exercise.
00:36:06 [Speaker 1]
Hard.
00:36:07 [Speaker 1]
I was sweating.
00:36:08 [Speaker 1]
I was like, this is a lot of work.

00:36:11 [Speaker 2]
Because I'm a heavy boy.

00:36:17 [Speaker 1]
If you have a birthday

00:36:18 [Speaker 2]
Which I do.
00:36:19 [Speaker 2]
It's in February.

00:36:20 [Speaker 1]
Barbecue.

00:36:21 [Speaker 2]
Sometimes.

00:36:22 [Speaker 1]
Or They're in

00:36:22 [Speaker 2]
the backyard.

00:36:23 [Speaker 1]
Dinner with people.
00:36:24 [Speaker 1]
Those happen sometimes.
00:36:26 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:36:26 [Speaker 1]
Like, you have people that bring stuff or you make stuff, and you're like, oh, look.
00:36:30 [Speaker 1]
I made a dessert.

00:36:31 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:36:31 [Speaker 1]
And then you have leftover dessert.

00:36:34 [Speaker 2]
Okay.

00:36:35 [Speaker 1]
But every so often, you just make something just because.
00:36:39 [Speaker 1]
And I saw a video, and I was like, this is brilliant.
00:36:44 [Speaker 1]
It's called counter cake or counter brownies or counter whatever it is.

00:36:49 [Speaker 2]
Right?
00:36:49 [Speaker 2]
No.
00:36:50 [Speaker 2]
And it's just sounds like No.
00:36:51 [Speaker 2]
No.
00:36:51 [Speaker 2]
No.

00:36:51 [Speaker 2]
No.
00:36:51 [Speaker 2]
Throw the foil on the table and make spaghetti.

00:36:54 [Speaker 1]
This is not what this is.
00:36:55 [Speaker 1]
It's just every once in a while when you just make something just to make it.
00:36:59 [Speaker 1]
There's not a birthday party.
00:37:00 [Speaker 1]
There's not an event.
00:37:02 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:37:02 [Speaker 1]
You just make a pan of brownies to have a pan pan of brownies or cake or whatever it is.

00:37:07 [Speaker 2]
K.

00:37:08 [Speaker 1]
And it's just called counter cake or counter brownies, and it just sits on the counter, and then you just pick at it Yeah.
00:37:15 [Speaker 1]
Throughout the week or whatever.

00:37:17 [Speaker 2]
That happens with, like, zucchini bread and banana bread and pumpkin bread

00:37:22 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

00:37:23 [Speaker 2]
Sourdough bread.

00:37:24 [Speaker 1]
And there's no rules.
00:37:25 [Speaker 1]
You can eat it in the morning.
00:37:26 [Speaker 1]
Sure.
00:37:27 [Speaker 1]
You can eat it at night.
00:37:28 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:37:28 [Speaker 1]
You can take time, countertop Whatever Cake.
00:37:31 [Speaker 1]
Piece of Yeah.
00:37:32 [Speaker 1]
Brownie cake bread you want.

00:37:35 [Speaker 2]
I think we do that.

00:37:37 [Speaker 1]
That's what I'm saying.

00:37:37 [Speaker 2]
Usually, it's Emery who's made a bunch of cookies, and we just have them around.
00:37:43 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:37:44 [Speaker 2]
Count And then we go

00:37:46 [Speaker 1]
count our dessert.
00:37:46 [Speaker 1]
Too many cookies.
00:37:48 [Speaker 1]
Better better do something about it.
00:37:50 [Speaker 1]
Better eat them.
00:37:51 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:37:52 [Speaker 2]
I was gonna say there was like, I like to try a recipe.
00:37:55 [Speaker 2]
And so, when I made that, apple crisp cheesecake, if you remember that

00:38:02 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

00:38:02 [Speaker 2]
Because I wanted to see if I could.
00:38:05 [Speaker 2]
That was that was mostly why.
00:38:07 [Speaker 2]
And so I kinda dug into I had to do, like, a, like, a a bath thing in the oven.
00:38:13 [Speaker 2]
I don't even remember what it's called.
00:38:15 [Speaker 2]
I haven't had to do it since.

00:38:16 [Speaker 1]
It's called a bath thing.
00:38:17 [Speaker 1]
That's the official

00:38:18 [Speaker 2]
fake it's called.
00:38:19 [Speaker 2]
Something, but you gotta have a water bath, when you make a cheesecake in the pan.

00:38:25 [Speaker 1]
That was delicious.

00:38:27 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:38:27 [Speaker 2]
It took me all day.
00:38:30 [Speaker 2]
It did.

00:38:30 [Speaker 1]
It really did take you

00:38:31 [Speaker 2]
all day.
00:38:32 [Speaker 2]
I I made every bit of it from scratch, the crumble, the crust, the cheesecake, the water bath thing, and then you have to, like, let it sit in the oven after it cooked.
00:38:43 [Speaker 2]
Like, it was it it took me all day.

00:38:45 [Speaker 1]
I don't mind when you make stuff like that.

00:38:47 [Speaker 2]
I know.
00:38:49 [Speaker 2]
I just have to devote a whole day to it

00:38:51 [Speaker 1]
if I'm

00:38:52 [Speaker 2]
gonna do it.

00:38:52 [Speaker 1]
That's fine.

00:38:53 [Speaker 2]
I haven't done it since because it took all day.

00:38:56 [Speaker 1]
I know it.
00:38:57 [Speaker 1]
You don't have to pick a recipe that that's that's that's

00:39:00 [Speaker 2]
pretty good.
00:39:01 [Speaker 2]
Like.

00:39:01 [Speaker 1]
I know you do.

00:39:02 [Speaker 2]
I love a challenge like that.
00:39:05 [Speaker 2]
I really do.
00:39:06 [Speaker 2]
This is good for me.

00:39:08 [Speaker 1]
Okay.
00:39:09 [Speaker 1]
You

00:39:10 [Speaker 2]
don't like to challenge yourself?

00:39:11 [Speaker 1]
I mean, yeah.
00:39:12 [Speaker 1]
Sure.

00:39:12 [Speaker 2]
I like to see what I'm capable of.

00:39:16 [Speaker 1]
K.
00:39:16 [Speaker 1]
Okay.
00:39:18 [Speaker 1]
Like like, this

00:39:19 [Speaker 2]
is going to require me to really be patient and learn some things and try some things and get out of my comfort zone.
00:39:26 [Speaker 2]
I love that stuff.

00:39:28 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:39:28 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:39:28 [Speaker 1]
I get that.
00:39:29 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:39:29 [Speaker 1]
I do.

00:39:30 [Speaker 1]
I like to challenge myself by seeing how many pieces of cheesecake I can eat before I

00:39:33 [Speaker 2]
get sick.
00:39:35 [Speaker 2]
Is that right?

00:39:35 [Speaker 1]
Yes.
00:39:36 [Speaker 1]
It's

00:39:36 [Speaker 2]
a different kind of challenge.
00:39:38 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
00:39:41 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
00:39:42 [Speaker 2]
We have our first of a couple of different guests in the studio today.
00:39:46 [Speaker 2]
This it's not often.

00:39:47 [Speaker 2]
I've been doing radio a long time, Chantel.

00:39:49 [Speaker 1]
I know you have.

00:39:49 [Speaker 2]
You've been joining me with the show for coming up on three years.

00:39:54 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

00:39:55 [Speaker 2]
And it's not often in radio you get to meet, like, a big time, big fan.

00:40:00 [Speaker 1]
I know.
00:40:01 [Speaker 1]
A super cool fan too, by the way.

00:40:04 [Speaker 2]
Today is, is a very cool day because we get to meet Carter.
00:40:07 [Speaker 2]
Carter's in the studio.
00:40:08 [Speaker 2]
Hi, Carter.

00:40:09 [Speaker 1]
Hi.
00:40:09 [Speaker 1]
How are you?
00:40:13 [Speaker 1]
Are you good?
00:40:14 [Speaker 1]
Yes.
00:40:14 [Speaker 1]
Are you nervous to talk on the radio?

00:40:17 [Speaker 5]
I just I'm not a radio station commander.

00:40:21 [Speaker 1]
That's right.
00:40:22 [Speaker 1]
That's right.

00:40:22 [Speaker 5]
I don't do these things.

00:40:24 [Speaker 1]
You're a natural.

00:40:25 [Speaker 2]
That's right.
00:40:26 [Speaker 2]
So Carter's been listening to the show for well and and Heidi is here too.
00:40:30 [Speaker 2]
Heidi is Carter's mom, and and she reached out and let us know that Carter listens, like, every day, to the show.
00:40:36 [Speaker 2]
Wait.
00:40:37 [Speaker 2]
And you're listening, like, in your room?

00:40:38 [Speaker 2]
Where are you listening?

00:40:40 [Speaker 5]
In my room.

00:40:41 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:40:41 [Speaker 2]
And then, and, like, all the time you listen, what's your what's what's your favorite part of the show?

00:40:47 [Speaker 5]
Hearing you guys talk.

00:40:49 [Speaker 1]
Alright.
00:40:50 [Speaker 1]
I like that.
00:40:52 [Speaker 1]
Said he liked Chantel and that guy.

00:40:54 [Speaker 2]
That's right.
00:40:54 [Speaker 2]
I am that guy.
00:40:55 [Speaker 2]
And when when I met Carter, he said, nice to meet you, that guy.
00:40:58 [Speaker 2]
So I am officially known as

00:41:01 [Speaker 1]
We're gonna rebrand That's right.
00:41:02 [Speaker 1]
As wake up class two ninety seven with Chantel and that guy.

00:41:05 [Speaker 2]
That's correct.

00:41:06 [Speaker 1]
I like I like I like it.
00:41:08 [Speaker 1]
It's got a nice ring to me.
00:41:10 [Speaker 1]
Carter, what do you like to do?
00:41:11 [Speaker 1]
Have you seen the new Minecraft movie?

00:41:13 [Speaker 5]
Oh, yeah.
00:41:13 [Speaker 5]
I have.

00:41:14 [Speaker 2]
Oh.
00:41:14 [Speaker 2]
How many times?
00:41:14 [Speaker 2]
Just once or did you go multiple times?
00:41:17 [Speaker 2]
What so far?

00:41:17 [Speaker 1]
How many times did you yell chicken jockey?

00:41:21 [Speaker 5]
Honestly, I didn't get any spoilers.
00:41:23 [Speaker 5]
So

00:41:24 [Speaker 2]
Okay.

00:41:24 [Speaker 1]
Nice.

00:41:25 [Speaker 2]
So you you went in not knowing what to expect, but you had a good time at the movie?

00:41:29 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:41:30 [Speaker 1]
Awesome.
00:41:30 [Speaker 1]
Good.

00:41:30 [Speaker 2]
I like it.
00:41:31 [Speaker 2]
I like it.
00:41:32 [Speaker 2]
I saw they're doing that movie in the park thing with the Minecraft movie.
00:41:36 [Speaker 2]
I think that's in August.
00:41:38 [Speaker 2]
Crazy.

00:41:38 [Speaker 1]
I know.
00:41:39 [Speaker 1]
What?
00:41:39 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:41:39 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:41:40 [Speaker 2]
I know.
00:41:41 [Speaker 2]
You can go watch it outside on a big screen, which would be pretty cool.
00:41:45 [Speaker 2]
And then you could see it for a second time, which would be awesome.
00:41:49 [Speaker 2]
Did you wanna do quick fire trivia

00:41:51 [Speaker 1]
with Cardi?
00:41:52 [Speaker 1]
This thing with kids because it's super fun.
00:41:54 [Speaker 1]
I like to do it with adults too, but adults are not as fun as kids are.
00:41:57 [Speaker 1]
But I like to do, like, a rapid fire question.
00:41:59 [Speaker 1]
Are you in?

00:42:00 [Speaker 1]
It's not a test or anything.
00:42:02 [Speaker 1]
It's just stuff that you like.
00:42:03 [Speaker 1]
You wanna play?

00:42:05 [Speaker 5]
Yeah.

00:42:06 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
00:42:06 [Speaker 2]
There you go.
00:42:07 [Speaker 2]
Alright.

00:42:07 [Speaker 1]
Answer as quickly as you can think of it.
00:42:09 [Speaker 1]
Okay?
00:42:10 [Speaker 1]
Are you ready?
00:42:11 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:42:11 [Speaker 1]
Okay.

00:42:12 [Speaker 1]
What's your favorite color?

00:42:13 [Speaker 5]
Blue.

00:42:13 [Speaker 1]
What's your favorite snack?

00:42:16 [Speaker 5]
Chicken nuggets.

00:42:18 [Speaker 1]
What's your favorite TV show?
00:42:20 [Speaker 1]
I

00:42:20 [Speaker 5]
don't really watch TV shows.

00:42:22 [Speaker 1]
What do you like to do for fun?

00:42:24 [Speaker 5]
Screens.

00:42:25 [Speaker 2]
So when when you're doing screens, real quick side question.
00:42:29 [Speaker 2]
What do you, what are you doing on screens?
00:42:31 [Speaker 2]
Are you playing games?
00:42:32 [Speaker 2]
What's your what's your

00:42:32 [Speaker 1]
PS games.

00:42:33 [Speaker 2]
Which game?

00:42:36 [Speaker 5]
It's honestly like Mario Kart.

00:42:39 [Speaker 1]
Nice.
00:42:39 [Speaker 1]
Mario Kart is my favorite game.

00:42:41 [Speaker 2]
Now you got Mario Kart going.

00:42:44 [Speaker 1]
Who's your favorite character in Mario Kart?

00:42:48 [Speaker 5]
Probably Yoshi Shy Guy.

00:42:51 [Speaker 2]
Oh, not a bad choice.

00:42:52 [Speaker 1]
Not a it's not Yoshi, but that's okay.
00:42:54 [Speaker 1]
I play Luigi because Luigi is the best.
00:42:57 [Speaker 1]
Wrong.
00:42:59 [Speaker 1]
He's so wrong.

00:43:01 [Speaker 5]
Yeah.
00:43:01 [Speaker 5]
Yeah.
00:43:02 [Speaker 5]
That's right.
00:43:02 [Speaker 5]
Because Luigi's the side character.
00:43:04 [Speaker 5]
Everyone knows that if you play as the main character, you're just going for looks.

00:43:08 [Speaker 5]
Oh,

00:43:10 [Speaker 2]
you heard me here first.
00:43:12 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
00:43:12 [Speaker 2]
Next question.

00:43:14 [Speaker 1]
What do you like to do for fun?
00:43:17 [Speaker 1]
Did I ask that one already?
00:43:18 [Speaker 1]
That's how we got on screens.
00:43:20 [Speaker 1]
What do you do in the summer?

00:43:23 [Speaker 5]
Screens.

00:43:23 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:43:24 [Speaker 2]
Screens.
00:43:24 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
00:43:27 [Speaker 2]
It's the same answer.

00:43:28 [Speaker 1]
Same answer.
00:43:29 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:43:29 [Speaker 1]
Alright.

00:43:31 [Speaker 2]
Well, Carter, it's awesome to have you in the studio.
00:43:33 [Speaker 2]
Awesome.
00:43:33 [Speaker 2]
We got to kinda show you around really kinda briefly, but we'll give you a little bit more, time in the studio, answer some questions with you, and hang out for a little bit.
00:43:41 [Speaker 2]
But thanks for letting us know you listened.
00:43:43 [Speaker 2]
That's awesome.

00:43:44 [Speaker 2]
And we're excited to have you in the studio with us.
00:43:46 [Speaker 2]
Super cool.
00:43:47 [Speaker 2]
So thanks for coming by.

00:43:50 [Speaker 1]
You've made a garden this year.
00:43:52 [Speaker 1]
Well, we've had a garden before, but this year, I feel like you've been taking especially good care of the garden

00:43:57 [Speaker 2]
this year.
00:43:58 [Speaker 2]
Trying this year, I think, is the big deal.
00:44:00 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

00:44:02 [Speaker 1]
You it's like you're you're a proud papa.

00:44:05 [Speaker 2]
Aw.

00:44:05 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:44:06 [Speaker 1]
Like, you're a proud dad with your garden.
00:44:07 [Speaker 1]
Every time something new pops up, you're like, you gotta come check this out.
00:44:10 [Speaker 1]
Come look at it.
00:44:11 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:44:11 [Speaker 1]
Come look at the broccoli.

00:44:12 [Speaker 2]
I've got two well, I'm worried about the broccoli.

00:44:14 [Speaker 1]
I know you are.

00:44:15 [Speaker 2]
It's okay.
00:44:15 [Speaker 2]
I've got one of my three broccoli plants that are producing broccoli on top, and the and I'm afraid it's gonna go to seed before it fully develops like a head of broccoli.
00:44:27 [Speaker 2]
I'm a little nervous about it.
00:44:29 [Speaker 2]
I keep looking at it going like, are you trying to make broccoli, or are you trying to make broccoli seeds?
00:44:35 [Speaker 2]
And I can't decide.

00:44:37 [Speaker 2]
So I'm struggling with the broccoli.
00:44:38 [Speaker 2]
I've got two heads of cauliflower growing.

00:44:40 [Speaker 1]
Your tomatoes are killing it.

00:44:43 [Speaker 2]
Two of my three tomato plants.
00:44:44 [Speaker 2]
The cherry tomatoes and my slicer tomatoes are doing really well.
00:44:48 [Speaker 2]
My early girl is not looking hot, and I don't know what's going on there.
00:44:54 [Speaker 2]
I'm not excited about that.
00:44:55 [Speaker 2]
My radishes, my first batch of radishes and carrots are a joke.

00:44:58 [Speaker 2]
The onions finally took hold.

00:45:00 [Speaker 1]
Okay.

00:45:00 [Speaker 2]
My beans and peas did not.
00:45:02 [Speaker 2]
I could tell you all about my garden.
00:45:04 [Speaker 2]
What else do you wanna know about my garden?

00:45:05 [Speaker 1]
Gonna tell you that I had store bought cherry tomatoes

00:45:09 [Speaker 4]
Okay.

00:45:09 [Speaker 1]
And I took them for lunch the other day, but I also mixed in some of your

00:45:13 [Speaker 2]
You did.

00:45:14 [Speaker 1]
Homegrown cherry tomatoes.

00:45:16 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
00:45:16 [Speaker 2]
I'm interested difference?

00:45:19 [Speaker 1]
Yes.
00:45:19 [Speaker 1]
I could.
00:45:20 [Speaker 1]
Yours were much better than the store bought one.

00:45:24 [Speaker 2]
Oh, is that right?
00:45:26 [Speaker 2]
Uh-huh.

00:45:26 [Speaker 1]
I'm not just saying that.

00:45:27 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:45:28 [Speaker 2]
When you say better, what was better?
00:45:30 [Speaker 2]
I just tasted sweeter.
00:45:32 [Speaker 2]
Okay.

00:45:32 [Speaker 1]
It tasted like, there was not as many like, the skin sometimes I

00:45:38 [Speaker 2]
was gonna say, is the skin firmer or not as firm?

00:45:41 [Speaker 1]
Not as firm.

00:45:42 [Speaker 2]
Which I think is good.

00:45:43 [Speaker 1]
Yes.
00:45:43 [Speaker 1]
It was good.
00:45:44 [Speaker 1]
Because sometimes the firm skin, you're like, wow.

00:45:46 [Speaker 2]
It's like waxy.

00:45:47 [Speaker 1]
And it sticks to your teeth, and you're like, get it off.

00:45:51 [Speaker 2]
Right.
00:45:51 [Speaker 2]
See, all my stuff, there's no pesticides in there, just good old water and some fertilizer

00:45:57 [Speaker 1]
and dirt.

00:45:58 [Speaker 2]
That's right.
00:45:59 [Speaker 2]
Good water.
00:46:00 [Speaker 2]
Natural fertilizer in the dirt by the bag.

00:46:04 [Speaker 1]
And passion and dedication and

00:46:06 [Speaker 2]
That's right.
00:46:07 [Speaker 2]
Love.
00:46:07 [Speaker 2]
I'm gonna have serious amounts of cherry tomatoes.
00:46:11 [Speaker 2]
There are there are dozens and dozens of green ones on the plant right now.
00:46:16 [Speaker 2]
I've only had maybe five or so that I've harvested off of, like, little early, cherry tomatoes, but it's about to happen.

00:46:25 [Speaker 2]
Like, there's a lot.
00:46:27 [Speaker 2]
The slicers, I don't know if you've seen them.

00:46:29 [Speaker 1]
I have seen those.

00:46:30 [Speaker 2]
That plant That plant's about to produce, like, six or seven strong, real nice tomatoes.
00:46:37 [Speaker 2]
I'm excited for those.
00:46:38 [Speaker 2]
I'm a little bit, they're a little smaller than I think they should be.
00:46:43 [Speaker 2]
Is that a thing?

00:46:44 [Speaker 1]
I don't know.

00:46:44 [Speaker 2]
I'm learning.
00:46:45 [Speaker 2]
Like, this whole garden thing's been an experiment for me this year.

00:46:48 [Speaker 1]
I know.
00:46:49 [Speaker 1]
You've really taken a lot of care and dedication into this garden.

00:46:53 [Speaker 2]
I've even pulled weeds.
00:46:54 [Speaker 2]
Like, every other day, I go out and pull weeds.

00:46:57 [Speaker 1]
Every I couldn't find you yesterday.
00:46:58 [Speaker 1]
I asked everywhere you weren't, and she said, probably in the garden.
00:47:03 [Speaker 1]
Probably with this garden.
00:47:04 [Speaker 1]
I think you care more about the garden than your kid.

00:47:06 [Speaker 2]
That's not true.

00:47:07 [Speaker 1]
Well, I feel like maybe she's got a little resentment.

00:47:10 [Speaker 2]
Well, maybe she should come find me in the garden.
00:47:12 [Speaker 2]
I could show her some cool things.

00:47:14 [Speaker 1]
She doesn't care about your garden.

00:47:15 [Speaker 2]
Come outside.
00:47:17 [Speaker 2]
That's where the the whole out there's a whole world out here.
00:47:21 [Speaker 2]
I'm not gonna go into her room and be like, hey.
00:47:24 [Speaker 2]
You wanna hang out?
00:47:26 [Speaker 2]
I'm going to the garden.

00:47:27 [Speaker 2]
Come find me.

00:47:29 [Speaker 1]
Well, good job.
00:47:30 [Speaker 1]
The tomatoes were good.

00:47:31 [Speaker 2]
I'm happy to hear that.
00:47:33 [Speaker 2]
That's great news.

00:47:35 [Speaker 1]
Let's get some of that zucchini and some of that cucumber and some of that.

00:47:38 [Speaker 2]
Died.
00:47:38 [Speaker 2]
I have no cucumbers left.

00:47:39 [Speaker 1]
All of them?

00:47:40 [Speaker 2]
My all of my cucumbers died.
00:47:42 [Speaker 2]
One of my cantaloupes died.
00:47:44 [Speaker 2]
The other one is still trying.

00:47:45 [Speaker 1]
Oh, man.

00:47:46 [Speaker 2]
I've got yellow squash.
00:47:47 [Speaker 2]
I've got zucchini.

00:47:48 [Speaker 1]
I was looking

00:47:49 [Speaker 2]
for a few tomatoes.
00:47:50 [Speaker 2]
Planted slicer tomato plant.
00:47:53 [Speaker 2]
The one I had I had that I had that branch break off, and I put it in the water for, like, two weeks, And it got roots on it, and I planted it.
00:48:00 [Speaker 2]
It's doing real well.

00:48:01 [Speaker 1]
I got no roots but my home.
00:48:03 [Speaker 1]
Alright.
00:48:04 [Speaker 1]
Remember that sock?

00:48:04 [Speaker 2]
Yep.
00:48:05 [Speaker 2]
I do.
00:48:05 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
00:48:08 [Speaker 2]
Alright, Chantel.
00:48:09 [Speaker 2]
We've got our second guest today in the studio.

00:48:11 [Speaker 2]
This is Charles Hill.
00:48:12 [Speaker 2]
Charles is the director of operations, the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission.
00:48:15 [Speaker 2]
Good morning, Charles.

00:48:16 [Speaker 3]
Good morning.

00:48:16 [Speaker 1]
Hey.

00:48:17 [Speaker 2]
Good to have you in the studio with us.
00:48:19 [Speaker 2]
We have coming up on Saturday, tomorrow, the Idaho Falls Farmers Market.
00:48:23 [Speaker 2]
We have an opportunity for folks to stop by the Riverbend Media Group booth and, make a donation to help out the Haven Family Shelter and the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission programs.
00:48:32 [Speaker 2]
As we wanted to have you kinda stop by and talk to us a little bit about some of those programs and the services you guys provide, let's get a little background on you because we were just chatting before we went live on the radio, and we're learning some great things about you.
00:48:42 [Speaker 2]
So tell us about yourself.

00:48:44 [Speaker 4]
Yeah.
00:48:44 [Speaker 4]
Absolutely.
00:48:45 [Speaker 4]
Thank you for having me.

00:48:46 [Speaker 1]
It's

00:48:46 [Speaker 4]
such a pleasure to be here.
00:48:48 [Speaker 4]
So I as I was sharing with you, we're Idaho Falls Rescue Mission is a community outcomes organization.
00:48:55 [Speaker 4]
We're not a community service, organization.
00:48:58 [Speaker 4]
And what we mean by that is that anything we do well, for example, we have a saying that we, you know, if we hand out a food box, we follow the food home.
00:49:08 [Speaker 4]
And so we we wanna, you know, find out more about the person that may be suffering and see if we can't get other resources wrapped around them.

00:49:17 [Speaker 4]
So every we're we're we're more about a hand up than a handout.

00:49:21 [Speaker 2]
I like that.

00:49:21 [Speaker 4]
That's nice.
00:49:22 [Speaker 4]
And accountability.
00:49:24 [Speaker 4]
So, and, you know, as you and I were just speaking about, one of the ways that, of course, this amazing community can help out and, by the way, helped me, who came through the program at Idaho Falls Rescue Mission.
00:49:39 [Speaker 4]
So thank you to this amazing community and and Riverbend Media for helping, being an amazing community partner to help us out.
00:49:48 [Speaker 4]
But, yeah, it's just, the panhandlers.

00:49:51 [Speaker 4]
We were talking we were speaking about, how, that is more of an enablement.
00:49:58 [Speaker 4]
You're you're just kind of you don't see the other side of where that money goes when you hand it out the window.
00:50:04 [Speaker 4]
We do have a rapid response team at Idaho Falls Rescue Mission.
00:50:07 [Speaker 4]
So if you just call (208) 745-3352, we'll send a van with a case manager and a shelter person out to visit with that person that's holding up a sign.

00:50:18 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:50:19 [Speaker 2]
And that's a big deal because now you're you've got, you know, systems and resources that that person may not know are available to them.
00:50:25 [Speaker 2]
Absolutely.
00:50:26 [Speaker 2]
And and actual, like, real structured, assistance that that they're, you know, if they're facing homelessness and they're facing really hard down times Yeah.
00:50:35 [Speaker 2]
And they're trying to just make end ends meet or whatever it is, you guys can visit with that person and that and and, you know, at least let them know, hey.

00:50:42 [Speaker 2]
Look.
00:50:43 [Speaker 2]
There's there's more than sitting here Yes.
00:50:46 [Speaker 2]
Getting sunburned Yeah.
00:50:47 [Speaker 2]
Or in the cold depending on the time of year or whatever that's available for you.
00:50:51 [Speaker 2]
Right.

00:50:52 [Speaker 2]
Right.
00:50:52 [Speaker 2]
Do you know, just for for my own curiosity, I mean, when we talk about, an unhomed population in in East Idaho or Idaho Falls proper even, how many individuals are we talking about?
00:51:05 [Speaker 2]
Do you know that?

00:51:06 [Speaker 4]
So those statistics are available through the housing and urban development website.
00:51:12 [Speaker 4]
But just take a drive around this community and, you know, tell me how many homeless people you see.

00:51:17 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:51:18 [Speaker 2]
I mean, it it's it's small, I would think.
00:51:20 [Speaker 2]
But I but I also that could be my ignorance.
00:51:22 [Speaker 2]
Right?

00:51:23 [Speaker 4]
No.
00:51:23 [Speaker 4]
I mean, let's be honest with each other.
00:51:25 [Speaker 4]
How many homeless people do you see camping out on the streets or sidewalks of Idaho Falls?

00:51:31 [Speaker 2]
Less than 20.

00:51:32 [Speaker 4]
K.
00:51:33 [Speaker 4]
Swing by and say thank you to Idaho Falls Rescue Mission for that.
00:51:37 [Speaker 4]
Yeah.

00:51:37 [Speaker 2]
Okay?
00:51:38 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:51:38 [Speaker 2]
I understand that.
00:51:39 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:51:39 [Speaker 2]
That's great.

00:51:40 [Speaker 4]
We, we're just not an organization that's willing to work in a community that supports that behavior.
00:51:47 [Speaker 4]
In fact, there's a there is a small percentage of of transient population, and we have a program for that as well.
00:51:54 [Speaker 4]
It's it's called you know, it we'll buy somebody a one way bus ticket

00:51:58 [Speaker 2]
to

00:51:58 [Speaker 4]
where they wanna go.
00:52:00 [Speaker 4]
We just we don't we don't support enabling some behaviors to continue.

00:52:05 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:52:05 [Speaker 2]
I I think it's great.

00:52:07 [Speaker 1]
I think that's fantastic.

00:52:08 [Speaker 2]
It definitely helps, you know, with the community being able to be involved with that kind of program.
00:52:14 [Speaker 2]
So, you know, for someone who who sees someone panhandling, again, the phone number that you you gave out, I'm sure we can we can search as you Sure.
00:52:20 [Speaker 2]
Probably your main office line Yeah.
00:52:22 [Speaker 2]
For the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission.
00:52:24 [Speaker 2]
And you have got a team, a rapid response team.

00:52:26 [Speaker 2]
Absolutely.
00:52:26 [Speaker 2]
Anytime, day, night, they can reach out.
00:52:28 [Speaker 2]
That's fantastic.
00:52:29 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:52:29 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

00:52:30 [Speaker 2]
That's great.

00:52:30 [Speaker 4]
That's great.
00:52:31 [Speaker 4]
Yeah.
00:52:31 [Speaker 4]
And and, you know, about our programs, we you know, of course, it's overwhelming to become homeless.
00:52:38 [Speaker 4]
And so we have licensed social workers.
00:52:42 [Speaker 4]
We, you know, plug into some amazing community resources for mental health, for physical needs.

00:52:49 [Speaker 4]
We also, because we're not government funded, we have the ability to have a conversation about plugging them into their, you know, plugging maybe plugging them back into their church, which is another support network that is needed in in times of crisis.
00:53:06 [Speaker 4]
That's not to say we push, you know, any ideologies, but it it's another resource to wrap around someone who's struggling.

00:53:13 [Speaker 2]
Well, and and and, typically, there are resources from whatever denomination Absolutely.
00:53:18 [Speaker 2]
That they may have, you know, within their congregation to help out as well.
00:53:21 [Speaker 2]
So that's that's great.
00:53:22 [Speaker 2]
Nice.
00:53:24 [Speaker 2]
You know, Idaho Falls Rescue Mission and the the Haven Family Shelter, are in need of some supplies, and that's really what's going on with us this week.

00:53:32 [Speaker 2]
So tomorrow at the Idaho Falls Farmers Market, you can stop by between nine and two.
00:53:36 [Speaker 2]
We'll be on Memorial Drive, with our tent, and you can drop off different supplies.
00:53:40 [Speaker 2]
Now we've got a list here.
00:53:42 [Speaker 2]
Obviously, nonslip, black shoes in various sizes, both men's and women's, I would assume.

00:53:46 [Speaker 1]
Mhmm.

00:53:46 [Speaker 2]
And those are a high priority for folks that are trying to get job interviews.
00:53:50 [Speaker 2]
Absolutely.
00:53:50 [Speaker 2]
We were talking about this earlier this week.
00:53:51 [Speaker 2]
If you show up and you got some holy shoes and stuff, I mean,

00:53:55 [Speaker 1]
is that your best

00:53:56 [Speaker 2]
foot forward?

00:53:57 [Speaker 1]
I would quite better.

00:53:58 [Speaker 4]
No pun intended.
00:54:00 [Speaker 4]
Exactly.

00:54:01 [Speaker 2]
It it also does set your your first impression.
00:54:04 [Speaker 2]
And if you're trying to get, you know, as much as we don't wanna judge people Mhmm.
00:54:08 [Speaker 2]
Where they're at in an interview situation, Yeah.
00:54:11 [Speaker 2]
It's hard not to go, like, well Well, and Like, that's what you do.

00:54:13 [Speaker 1]
Better, you have more confidence.
00:54:15 [Speaker 1]
Totally.
00:54:15 [Speaker 1]
So you're gonna do a

00:54:16 [Speaker 4]
100%

00:54:17 [Speaker 1]
job interview.

00:54:17 [Speaker 4]
You know how you feel when you put on a nice, you know, nice suit.

00:54:21 [Speaker 2]
Right.
00:54:21 [Speaker 2]
Yes.

00:54:21 [Speaker 4]
It's it's it's their confidence that comes with that.
00:54:24 [Speaker 4]
Absolutely.

00:54:24 [Speaker 2]
So non slip black shoes in various sizes, both men's and women's, laundry detergent, toilet bowl cleaner, floor cleaners, trash bags, a lot of cleaning supplies.
00:54:32 [Speaker 2]
Sure.
00:54:32 [Speaker 2]
Sure.

00:54:32 [Speaker 4]
And non perishable food items, you know, support our shelters, men's and women's jeans, you know, things that folks are gonna need to on their first, second first week of work

00:54:43 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

00:54:44 [Speaker 4]
You know, to get them back on, you know, self self sustainability.
00:54:49 [Speaker 4]
It's a struggle it's a tongue twister, but that's that's what we're about.
00:54:53 [Speaker 4]
Yeah.
00:54:53 [Speaker 4]
And then

00:54:53 [Speaker 2]
you talk about women's backpacks

00:54:55 [Speaker 1]
Mhmm.

00:54:55 [Speaker 2]
And boxed cereal are also on the list as a as a a thing.

00:54:58 [Speaker 4]
Yeah.
00:54:59 [Speaker 4]
Both adult and kid cereals.
00:55:01 [Speaker 4]
Yeah.
00:55:01 [Speaker 4]
So Yeah.

00:55:03 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:55:04 [Speaker 2]
Very good.
00:55:04 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
00:55:05 [Speaker 2]
So those are kind of items that we're looking for.
00:55:06 [Speaker 2]
You can stop by.

00:55:07 [Speaker 2]
We'll have, our our tent set up at the Idaho Falls Farmers Market from nine to two tomorrow, and you can drop off those supplies to help out with the Haven Family Shelter and Idaho Falls Rescue Mission programs.
00:55:17 [Speaker 2]
What's your website really quick if people wanna find out more information?

00:55:20 [Speaker 4]
Yeah.
00:55:21 [Speaker 4]
So it's ifrescuemission.0rg.

00:55:24 [Speaker 2]
Easy enough.

00:55:24 [Speaker 4]
Yeah.
00:55:25 [Speaker 4]
And once again, I would just thank you so much for having me today.
00:55:28 [Speaker 4]
Thank you for you, Charles, for everything

00:55:30 [Speaker 1]
you're doing for the community.
00:55:31 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:55:31 [Speaker 4]
And thank you to this amazing community.

00:55:33 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:55:33 [Speaker 2]
Right on.
00:55:34 [Speaker 2]
Thank you so much.
00:55:34 [Speaker 2]
We'll see you at the Farmer's market tomorrow, nine to two.

00:55:39 [Speaker 1]
I mentioned earlier that Emery was at the eye doctor yesterday.

00:55:43 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

00:55:43 [Speaker 1]
And she's 15, almost 16 years old.
00:55:45 [Speaker 1]
And he the eye doctor kind of, like, halfheartedly says, do you wanna pick out a toy from the treasure chest?

00:55:52 [Speaker 2]
That's hilarious.

00:55:53 [Speaker 1]
I'm sure he probably gets met with as a teenager patient, he probably gets met with, like, ugh.
00:55:59 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:56:00 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:56:00 [Speaker 1]
So I can understand his, like, hesitation to be like, oh, where do I step?
00:56:06 [Speaker 1]
And she goes, Emery, I've never been more proud of this girl.

00:56:09 [Speaker 1]
She goes, yes.
00:56:11 [Speaker 1]
And I go, yeah.
00:56:12 [Speaker 1]
Absolutely.
00:56:13 [Speaker 1]
If you ever have a chance to pick out a toy from a treasure chest

00:56:17 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:56:17 [Speaker 2]
You

00:56:17 [Speaker 1]
take it off.
00:56:18 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

00:56:18 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:56:18 [Speaker 2]
You go, yeah.
00:56:19 [Speaker 2]
I do wanna slap bracelet.

00:56:20 [Speaker 1]
Because there's only so many opportunities you get to pick toys out of a treasure chest.
00:56:25 [Speaker 1]
Nobody ever asks me when I go to the

00:56:28 [Speaker 2]
That's right.

00:56:28 [Speaker 1]
Dentist or the eye doctor.
00:56:30 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

00:56:30 [Speaker 2]
I would like to do something.
00:56:32 [Speaker 2]
Kazoos.
00:56:33 [Speaker 2]
I do want one of those little plastic jumpy frogs.

00:56:36 [Speaker 1]
Exactly.
00:56:37 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

00:56:37 [Speaker 2]
Because it's never anything good.

00:56:39 [Speaker 1]
Well, and so he said the eye doctor said, yeah.
00:56:41 [Speaker 1]
We stop asking once you turn 18.
00:56:43 [Speaker 1]
And I went, why does all of the fun have to happen to the kids?

00:56:48 [Speaker 2]
I don't know.

00:56:49 [Speaker 1]
I don't either.
00:56:49 [Speaker 1]
I don't think it's very fair.

00:56:51 [Speaker 2]
I don't I'm trying to think.
00:56:54 [Speaker 2]
Is there if they were like, here, have a toy, toy out of the toy chest.

00:56:59 [Speaker 1]
To me?

00:56:59 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:57:00 [Speaker 2]
What would you pick?
00:57:01 [Speaker 2]
A bouncy ball?

00:57:02 [Speaker 1]
What's in there?

00:57:03 [Speaker 2]
Usual stuff.

00:57:05 [Speaker 1]
Oh, jeez Louise.

00:57:07 [Speaker 2]
A bunch of stuff from Oriental Trading.

00:57:09 [Speaker 1]
Okay.
00:57:09 [Speaker 1]
What would I pick?
00:57:12 [Speaker 1]
Probably one of those, like, sticky hands.
00:57:14 [Speaker 1]
I like

00:57:15 [Speaker 2]
those a good pick.

00:57:15 [Speaker 1]
I know I like those.

00:57:17 [Speaker 2]
Try and smack it at me.
00:57:19 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:57:19 [Speaker 2]
I Until I'm not really into it.
00:57:22 [Speaker 2]
Here are some typical items found in doctor's office toy chests.

00:57:25 [Speaker 1]
Okay.
00:57:26 [Speaker 1]
Give me

00:57:26 [Speaker 2]
the Stickers.

00:57:29 [Speaker 1]
Mhmm.

00:57:29 [Speaker 2]
What if it's like a a medical themed one?

00:57:32 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:57:33 [Speaker 1]
No.

00:57:35 [Speaker 2]
Like a stethoscope with eyeballs

00:57:37 [Speaker 1]
or something cute.
00:57:38 [Speaker 1]
No?
00:57:38 [Speaker 1]
Okay.

00:57:39 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
00:57:40 [Speaker 2]
What about, bouncy ball?

00:57:43 [Speaker 1]
Mhmm.

00:57:43 [Speaker 2]
Whistle?

00:57:44 [Speaker 1]
Oh, a whistle.
00:57:46 [Speaker 1]
Top?
00:57:46 [Speaker 1]
Oh.

00:57:47 [Speaker 2]
A toy car or truck or airplane or,

00:57:52 [Speaker 1]
mini puzzle?

00:57:53 [Speaker 2]
Oh, a little dinosaur figurine.

00:57:55 [Speaker 1]
Take a dinosaur.
00:57:56 [Speaker 1]
I know.
00:57:56 [Speaker 1]
Not a never a puzzle.

00:57:58 [Speaker 2]
You wouldn't want, like, a little a little board puzzle?

00:58:01 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:58:01 [Speaker 1]
Ew.
00:58:01 [Speaker 1]
Ugh.
00:58:04 [Speaker 1]
Okay.
00:58:05 [Speaker 1]
Okay.

00:58:06 [Speaker 2]
I'm I'm looking.
00:58:07 [Speaker 2]
Treasure chest refill packs.

00:58:09 [Speaker 1]
Here we go.

00:58:10 [Speaker 2]
Jump rope.
00:58:11 [Speaker 2]
Little Rubik's cube.

00:58:13 [Speaker 1]
A jump rope?
00:58:14 [Speaker 1]
That's kind of large.
00:58:15 [Speaker 1]
The I think the toys are usually smaller there.

00:58:18 [Speaker 2]
Slinky.

00:58:19 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

00:58:20 [Speaker 2]
Little bendy man.

00:58:21 [Speaker 1]
Sometimes they have those little kaleidoscopes.

00:58:24 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
00:58:25 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

00:58:25 [Speaker 1]
So one of those.

00:58:27 [Speaker 2]
Parachute army man.

00:58:28 [Speaker 1]
Sure.

00:58:30 [Speaker 2]
And then you're gonna want the ladder to get on the roof to throw.

00:58:33 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

00:58:33 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:58:34 [Speaker 2]
Right.
00:58:35 [Speaker 2]
What about, you mentioned the sticky hands.
00:58:38 [Speaker 2]
What about, disguise, glasses and nose and mustache?

00:58:41 [Speaker 1]
That's a pretty big prize for the treasure chest.

00:58:44 [Speaker 2]
Okay.

00:58:46 [Speaker 1]
I don't know if that's gonna be in there because I think you do that?
00:58:49 [Speaker 1]
Pick it?
00:58:50 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

00:58:50 [Speaker 2]
You would pick the disguise.

00:58:53 [Speaker 1]
Literally, the only thing I would not pick is probably the puzzle.

00:58:56 [Speaker 2]
What about, vampire teeth?

00:58:59 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

00:59:04 [Speaker 2]
That's what all you hear when vampire teeth happen.

00:59:06 [Speaker 1]
I'm just saying, why do we have to stop at eighteen?
00:59:09 [Speaker 1]
Why do we have to stop having fun at eighteen?

00:59:11 [Speaker 2]
What about those,

00:59:12 [Speaker 1]
Field trips?
00:59:13 [Speaker 1]
No.
00:59:15 [Speaker 1]
Treasure chest toys?
00:59:16 [Speaker 1]
Forget about it.

00:59:17 [Speaker 2]
What about those, red wax lips?

00:59:21 [Speaker 1]
Yes.
00:59:22 [Speaker 1]
Gross.
00:59:25 [Speaker 1]
With the buck teeth.
00:59:26 [Speaker 1]
Sure.

00:59:27 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
00:59:27 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
00:59:27 [Speaker 2]
What about one of those, like it looks like half a bouncy ball that you turn inside out, and you set it there, and it bounces to the ceiling?

00:59:34 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

00:59:34 [Speaker 2]
What do they call that?
00:59:35 [Speaker 2]
A poppet?

00:59:36 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:59:37 [Speaker 1]
Every picked a little it's like a little frog.
00:59:40 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:59:40 [Speaker 1]
It kinda it I think it is meant to go on the end of your pencil.

00:59:44 [Speaker 2]
Is it the one you showed me?
00:59:45 [Speaker 2]
The little bendy frog?

00:59:46 [Speaker 1]
We have one already.

00:59:47 [Speaker 2]
We have one on the fridge.

00:59:48 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
00:59:49 [Speaker 1]
So she picked another one.
00:59:50 [Speaker 1]
I'm like, we we could start a collection.

00:59:53 [Speaker 2]
We could.

00:59:53 [Speaker 1]
She wedged it on my rearview mirror.

00:59:56 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

00:59:56 [Speaker 1]
So his little legs dangle in my rearview mirror.

00:59:59 [Speaker 2]
She said you had a new pal.

01:00:01 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
01:00:01 [Speaker 1]
He said, I kinda like him.

01:00:03 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
01:00:03 [Speaker 2]
What about a small Frisbee with a tooth on it?

01:00:07 [Speaker 1]
Why is

01:00:08 [Speaker 2]
Dentist.
01:00:08 [Speaker 2]
It's from the dentist.

01:00:09 [Speaker 1]
Why is there okay.

01:00:11 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
01:00:11 [Speaker 2]
What about one of those little, mazes with the little Yeah.
01:00:16 [Speaker 2]
Silver ball you have to move through the maze?

01:00:18 [Speaker 1]
Yes.
01:00:19 [Speaker 1]
I'm telling you, there's not a lot I would say no

01:00:22 [Speaker 2]
to.
01:00:22 [Speaker 2]
What about a rubber duck?

01:00:24 [Speaker 1]
Yes.
01:00:25 [Speaker 1]
Is it blue?

01:00:26 [Speaker 2]
No.
01:00:26 [Speaker 2]
It's not a blue duck.
01:00:28 [Speaker 2]
It's a regular duck, but it has big dorky smile on it because it's from the

01:00:34 [Speaker 1]
dentist.
01:00:34 [Speaker 1]
Absolutely.

01:00:36 [Speaker 2]
Okay.

01:00:38 [Speaker 1]
I yes.
01:00:39 [Speaker 1]
I would say yes to everything, not a puzzle.

01:00:42 [Speaker 2]
But not a puzzle.

01:00:43 [Speaker 1]
Because boring.

01:00:44 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
01:00:45 [Speaker 2]
Good to know where you're at.
01:00:50 [Speaker 2]
I'm gonna get a toy chest in here and let you pick something out every day.

01:00:53 [Speaker 1]
Please do.
01:00:54 [Speaker 1]
No.
01:00:54 [Speaker 1]
I'd be the happiest little girl.

01:00:56 [Speaker 2]
What toy are you gonna take home?

01:00:58 [Speaker 1]
Oh, the not the puzzle.

01:01:05 [Speaker 2]
Would you rather this or that?

01:01:06 [Speaker 1]
Alright.
01:01:07 [Speaker 1]
I got another fly fishing would you rather.

01:01:09 [Speaker 2]
K.

01:01:09 [Speaker 1]
It's your lucky day.
01:01:13 [Speaker 1]
I thought you would respond to that.

01:01:15 [Speaker 2]
You did one yesterday.
01:01:16 [Speaker 2]
So

01:01:17 [Speaker 1]
it's two

01:01:17 [Speaker 2]
days in a row.

01:01:18 [Speaker 1]
Fish all day with a broken reel or

01:01:21 [Speaker 2]
a A broken reel?

01:01:22 [Speaker 1]
Yes.

01:01:23 [Speaker 3]
Okay?

01:01:24 [Speaker 1]
Or a tangled leader you can't fix.

01:01:26 [Speaker 2]
Did how did you come up with these?
01:01:28 [Speaker 2]
I know you don't know enough about fly fishing to be asking these.
01:01:31 [Speaker 2]
Alright.

01:01:33 [Speaker 3]
Okay.

01:01:34 [Speaker 1]
But I know what a leader is, and I know what a reel is.

01:01:37 [Speaker 2]
Right.

01:01:38 [Speaker 1]
So So

01:01:38 [Speaker 2]
would I rather fish all day with a broken reel or

01:01:41 [Speaker 1]
A tangled leader.

01:01:42 [Speaker 2]
All day with a tangled leader?

01:01:45 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

01:01:45 [Speaker 2]
This was just me fishing anyway, so I'd go with the broken reel.
01:01:48 [Speaker 2]
No.
01:01:49 [Speaker 2]
Look.
01:01:50 [Speaker 2]
Fly fishing, if I had a broken reel, I could at least I could still fish.
01:01:55 [Speaker 2]
I could still do what I need to do without because I'd I basically would turn my my rod into a tenkara rod is what I would end up doing.

01:02:03 [Speaker 2]
So I would continue to I'd continue to fish with that.
01:02:07 [Speaker 2]
And I could I could just do stripping of my line, and and I can worry about the reel later.

01:02:15 [Speaker 1]
Right.

01:02:16 [Speaker 2]
See?

01:02:16 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
01:02:16 [Speaker 1]
Same.

01:02:17 [Speaker 2]
What are you picking?

01:02:18 [Speaker 1]
Same.
01:02:19 [Speaker 1]
Samesies.
01:02:21 [Speaker 1]
Because, yeah, I I would get my tenkara rod out too, because I could still strip my line that way too.
01:02:30 [Speaker 1]
And, like, it's Well

01:02:31 [Speaker 2]
and look.
01:02:31 [Speaker 2]
There's no stripping with a tenkara rod.
01:02:33 [Speaker 2]
Oh.
01:02:34 [Speaker 2]
But I'm saying I would use my traditional fly rod as a tenkara style fishing

01:02:41 [Speaker 1]
if I

01:02:41 [Speaker 2]
didn't have a reel to

01:02:43 [Speaker 1]
Same.

01:02:43 [Speaker 2]
To deal with.
01:02:44 [Speaker 2]
You know?

01:02:44 [Speaker 1]
Same.
01:02:45 [Speaker 1]
I would Yeah.
01:02:45 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
01:02:46 [Speaker 1]
I was thinking the same thing.
01:02:48 [Speaker 1]
That's how I would fish too.

01:02:50 [Speaker 2]
Don't ask technical questions about a thing you don't know about if you're not gonna answer about what you don't know about.

01:02:56 [Speaker 1]
I'm gonna fish with I've gone fishing before, and I've had tangled line.
01:03:04 [Speaker 1]
So I'm gonna go with the broken reel because tangled line, ugh.
01:03:10 [Speaker 1]
No.
01:03:10 [Speaker 1]
Thank you.

01:03:10 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
01:03:10 [Speaker 2]
I'm just standing in the water untangling line all the time.

01:03:13 [Speaker 1]
That's no.
01:03:14 [Speaker 1]
Thanks.
01:03:15 [Speaker 1]
I would just get frustrated and cut it all off.
01:03:17 [Speaker 1]
And be like, now no one can fish.

01:03:22 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
01:03:23 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
01:03:24 [Speaker 2]
That sounds like your attitude, actually.
01:03:26 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
01:03:26 [Speaker 2]
No.

01:03:27 [Speaker 2]
I'm done with this.
01:03:28 [Speaker 2]
I guess I'll just go sit in the car and read my book.
01:03:31 [Speaker 2]
Bye.

01:03:31 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
01:03:32 [Speaker 1]
Sounds great.

01:03:33 [Speaker 2]
Would you rather this or that?
01:03:35 [Speaker 2]
What's that?
01:03:38 [Speaker 2]
You know what that is?
01:03:38 [Speaker 2]
What's that?
01:03:39 [Speaker 2]
That's the sigh of the end of a Friday.

01:03:42 [Speaker 1]
Well, kinda.

01:03:43 [Speaker 2]
I mean I

01:03:43 [Speaker 1]
mean, the end of our show.

01:03:44 [Speaker 2]
End of the show for a Friday.
01:03:46 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
01:03:46 [Speaker 2]
That means so now I have, like, four hours left of work.

01:03:48 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
01:03:49 [Speaker 1]
We still have work work to do.
01:03:51 [Speaker 1]
Legit work.
01:03:52 [Speaker 1]
Because let's be this isn't work.
01:03:54 [Speaker 1]
This talking for it's not work.

01:03:57 [Speaker 2]
You don't think so?
01:03:59 [Speaker 2]
I feel tired.
01:04:00 [Speaker 2]
I feel exhausted.

01:04:01 [Speaker 1]
Well, I'm tired, but it was fun.

01:04:03 [Speaker 2]
But We

01:04:04 [Speaker 1]
got to talk to some really cool people.

01:04:06 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
01:04:06 [Speaker 2]
We did.
01:04:07 [Speaker 2]
We do need to say thanks to Charles for stopping by.
01:04:10 [Speaker 2]
Charles from the Idaho Falls Rescue Mission

01:04:12 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.

01:04:12 [Speaker 2]
Stopped by and talked to us.
01:04:14 [Speaker 2]
Great information.
01:04:15 [Speaker 2]
And, again, tomorrow, the Farmers Market, 9AM to 2PM, you can stop by and make donations.
01:04:20 [Speaker 2]
We've got all the details in the Classy 97 app.
01:04:23 [Speaker 2]
Just tap the Farmers Market link, and you can get all the details there on how you can help out.

01:04:28 [Speaker 2]
You can also learn more about the program.
01:04:28 [Speaker 2]
I did link up the website there.
01:04:30 [Speaker 2]
So if you go tap the Farmers Market link, you can also get information on the, Idle Falls Rescue Mission and the Haven Family, Center.
01:04:37 [Speaker 2]
All that stuff is in there, which is great.
01:04:40 [Speaker 2]
And we gotta say thank you to Carter, our, number one fan.

01:04:44 [Speaker 2]
Stopped by the studio today.
01:04:45 [Speaker 2]
You have met Carter.

01:04:46 [Speaker 1]
I'm Carter's number one fan.

01:04:48 [Speaker 2]
That's a good way to put that.
01:04:49 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
01:04:49 [Speaker 2]
Carter is, is pretty awesome.

01:04:51 [Speaker 1]
I wanna I wanna play Mario Kart with him.

01:04:54 [Speaker 2]
Mario Kart with Carter.
01:04:55 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
01:04:56 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
01:04:56 [Speaker 2]
We could hook that up online.

01:04:58 [Speaker 1]
Prepare to be destroyed.

01:05:00 [Speaker 2]
Woah.
01:05:01 [Speaker 2]
Don't be destroy a nine year old.

01:05:03 [Speaker 1]
I don't wanna destroy it, but, listen.
01:05:05 [Speaker 1]
I'm not gonna let you pity win.

01:05:07 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
01:05:08 [Speaker 2]
You're gonna have to earn it.

01:05:09 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
01:05:10 [Speaker 1]
You're

01:05:10 [Speaker 2]
gonna have to earn it.
01:05:12 [Speaker 2]
What else?
01:05:12 [Speaker 2]
Let's just recap real quick.
01:05:16 [Speaker 2]
We talked about theme songs we never skip.
01:05:19 [Speaker 2]
We had some good news.

01:05:21 [Speaker 2]
I apparently hate asking for help when we go to the store.
01:05:23 [Speaker 2]
I think I just go on a treasure hunt.
01:05:25 [Speaker 2]
It's just me treasure hunting.
01:05:27 [Speaker 2]
That happened in the show.
01:05:29 [Speaker 2]
You feel like test anxiety when you go to the eye doctor.

01:05:31 [Speaker 2]
I built a compost.
01:05:33 [Speaker 2]
You can't lift me.
01:05:34 [Speaker 2]
You can't lift me.

01:05:36 [Speaker 1]
Not for lack of trying, though.

01:05:38 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
01:05:38 [Speaker 2]
But that doesn't make me feel good about if I fall down.

01:05:42 [Speaker 5]
It's just

01:05:44 [Speaker 1]
I'll figure it out, Josh.

01:05:46 [Speaker 2]
Okay.

01:05:46 [Speaker 1]
I'll get a kind of a cart or something.
01:05:49 [Speaker 1]
I'll find something.

01:05:50 [Speaker 2]
A cart?

01:05:51 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
01:05:52 [Speaker 1]
What kind of cart?
01:05:54 [Speaker 1]
Like a dolly or a whack.

01:05:56 [Speaker 2]
Get me on it?

01:05:58 [Speaker 1]
If it's low enough to the ground, I can just roll you.

01:06:02 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
01:06:03 [Speaker 2]
Enough about that.

01:06:04 [Speaker 1]
Figure it out.

01:06:06 [Speaker 2]
Let's see.
01:06:06 [Speaker 2]
You want me to make a bunch of sweets?
01:06:08 [Speaker 2]
Yes, please.
01:06:09 [Speaker 2]
You like my tomatoes, and, you wanna collect all the toys from the treasure chest.

01:06:13 [Speaker 1]
I wanna collect them all.
01:06:14 [Speaker 1]
I just wanna be given the opportunity to choose one.

01:06:17 [Speaker 2]
Right.
01:06:17 [Speaker 2]
And you know nothing about fly fishing.
01:06:19 [Speaker 2]
These are the things we learned today in the show.

01:06:22 [Speaker 1]
I know some stuff.

01:06:24 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.

01:06:24 [Speaker 1]
I know what a leader is.

01:06:26 [Speaker 2]
Uh-huh.
01:06:27 [Speaker 2]
What, what size?
01:06:29 [Speaker 2]
How long is a leader typically?

01:06:33 [Speaker 1]
Seven.

01:06:35 [Speaker 2]
Seven what?
01:06:39 [Speaker 2]
Feet.
01:06:39 [Speaker 2]
Okay.
01:06:40 [Speaker 2]
You're close.
01:06:42 [Speaker 2]
You are close.

01:06:43 [Speaker 1]
Okay.

01:06:44 [Speaker 2]
They they're typically seven and a half feet or nine feet.

01:06:47 [Speaker 1]
No way.

01:06:48 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
01:06:48 [Speaker 2]
Way.

01:06:49 [Speaker 1]
I knew that.

01:06:50 [Speaker 2]
Did you?
01:06:50 [Speaker 2]
Yep.
01:06:51 [Speaker 2]
And, how big is the line?

01:06:56 [Speaker 1]
It's about point five millimeters.
01:07:00 [Speaker 1]
No.
01:07:01 [Speaker 1]
I don't know.
01:07:03 [Speaker 1]
I don't know.

01:07:04 [Speaker 2]
It could be, like, point o o o nine millimeters, but it's real small.
01:07:10 [Speaker 2]
But we don't measure it in millimeters.
01:07:12 [Speaker 2]
We measure it in x's.
01:07:14 [Speaker 2]
So it's zero x to, like, a seven x, typically.
01:07:19 [Speaker 2]
Uh-huh.

01:07:21 [Speaker 2]
And, what else do we know about a liter?

01:07:28 [Speaker 1]
They have followers?

01:07:30 [Speaker 2]
Oh, sure.
01:07:32 [Speaker 2]
K.
01:07:33 [Speaker 2]
They're tapered?

01:07:35 [Speaker 1]
What else do we know about a leader, you asked?
01:07:37 [Speaker 1]
Yeah.
01:07:38 [Speaker 1]
They have followers.

01:07:39 [Speaker 2]
That four of them make a court.

01:07:42 [Speaker 1]
There you go.

01:07:47 [Speaker 2]
You see?

01:07:48 [Speaker 1]
Leader jokes are

01:07:49 [Speaker 2]
buzz.
01:07:49 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
01:07:50 [Speaker 2]
Hey.
01:07:50 [Speaker 2]
No.
01:07:50 [Speaker 2]
We gotta be, done with that.

01:07:52 [Speaker 2]
And I don't think four leaders makes a court either.
01:07:55 [Speaker 2]
I think four liters makes a gallon?
01:07:58 [Speaker 2]
I don't know.
01:07:59 [Speaker 2]
It sounds right.
01:08:00 [Speaker 2]
Four quarts is a gallon.

01:08:01 [Speaker 2]
How many liters in a gallon?

01:08:04 [Speaker 1]
Just shut it down.

01:08:06 [Speaker 2]
One liquid gallon is 3.7 liters.
01:08:10 [Speaker 2]
Yeah.
01:08:10 [Speaker 2]
Four liters is a gallon.
01:08:12 [Speaker 2]
It's a little more then.
01:08:14 [Speaker 2]
Alright.

01:08:14 [Speaker 1]
Cool.

01:08:16 [Speaker 2]
Math.

01:08:18 [Speaker 1]
Have a good weekend, everyone.
01:08:20 [Speaker 1]
Thanks for tuning in, and we'll see you on Monday.

01:08:23 [Speaker 2]
Alright.
01:08:24 [Speaker 2]
